Good burritos for a decent price. I don’t like that I can’t get a salad after a certain time, but the service makes up for it. Especially one who seems to be half Asian, with long black hair, Natalie? I always ask her to make my burrito, she fills it and folds it the best and the fastest, with a big smile :)

This place is a fast food burrito bar. We need more of these in Ottawa. Even when they were running out of ingredients at the end of the night I didn’t feel like I was getting a burrito made from scraps. I’ve been a few times because other late food options in the rideau st area don’t match it for convenience. Also it seems like it is a healthier option even though by the time I’m done ordering it probably isn’t.

After a day of meetings with some colleagues from SF and talking about our favourite burrito joints in SF, I had a burrito craving. The problem is that I still haven’t found an amazing burrito place in town. I walked by this place and my burrito craving hit me hard! To my better judgement, I walked into this place. It reminded me of a Mucho Burrito knock off and when I walked in and checked it out… it definitely was. I ordered a chicken burrito and was chatting with one of the workers for a bit. I then went stepped aside to go to the washroom quickly but let them know what I wanted in my burrito before I went to the washroom. I came back and they were wrapping it up! I took it home and took my first bite into it. It was super bland. A few more bites and something odd happened. I opened up the burrito and it was a vegetarian burrito minus the chicken. I didn’t like it as a vegetarian burrito and I doubt I’d like it with the chicken as 90% of the burrito was flavourless. I filled it with sriracha sauce and downed the rest. If only I had a negra to wash it all down and cry away the pain of them messing up my order. Lesson learned. Don’t leave kids alone to make your burrito. Chances are they’ll forget your fillings!

My husband and I went to Bar Burrito recently because we each had a coupon for a free taco(I love free!). So I got my free taco(fish) and I ordered the Extreme Fries($ 4.49) and a Mango Jarrito($ 2.50). My husband got his free taco(also fish) and he ordered a large Chicken and Steak Burrito($ 8.25) and a Mandarin Jarrito($ 2.50). So the fish in the fish taco is battered and then deep-fried. It was not a huge piece, but not tiny like I’ve had at some places. There wasn’t too much batter and it wasn’t greasy, so I was happy about that. I had mine in the soft flour tortilla(so did my husband). We had cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on the tacos also. They were tasty. The Extreme Fries are fries topped with nacho cheese, ground beef, diced tomatoes, sour cream and green onion(although I asked to not get the last two toppings). The Extreme Fries were delicious! The fries are battered and medium-sized. What I really liked is that they put the nacho cheese(you know, like the melted Cheez Whiz kind of cheese) on the fries, then they topped it with a generous helping of ground beef and diced tomatoes and then they put on some more nacho cheese. Yum yum cheesy goodness! They were totally loaded, not like when you get Fries Supreme at Taco Bell and there’s like a teaspoonful of toppings in the middle and most of the fries are naked. Not at Bar Burrito, every single fry had some topping on it! :) Just a note though, you get a lot less fries than in the picture on their wall and the fries are fatter than in the pictures(medium thickness, not shoestring). I felt that $ 4.49 was a little steep for the amount you get, but they were good nonetheless. I had a bite of my husband’s Chicken and Steak Burrito. It was excellent. They didn’t skimp on the toppings and the flavours melded together well. Again, I felt it was pricey, but it tasted good. And in the end we got the tacos for free, so I felt we got a good deal :) They don’t sell single tacos, they sell them in pairs and the prices ranges from $ 5.15 to $ 5.79 a pair depending on what meat you get. You can add a third taco to your pair for another $ 2. They also have free WiFi. Overall, I was happy and will return. Glad we got the coupons for the free tacos though because if it wasn’t for the coupon we probably never would have tried this place. In my opinion Bar Burrito is much better than Mucho Burrito, Burrito Del Mar(in Place d’Orleans) and Burrito Borracha.
