Had lunch here the other day. Price is now 8 bucks per bowl, not a deal breaker for a downtown lunch. I would say that the portion size was adequate for the price. I tried the spicy pork option. Really good! Service was friendly and prompt. I’d stop here again if I was walking by at lunch time.

Love this street food vendor, working out of a cart on the sidewalk — and sometimes found at the Ottawa Market in Brewers Park on Sundays. I’ve tried both beef and chicken versions of their meal — and both were wonderful, coming with rice, veggies and meat. Flavourful and really a pretty healthy choice when it comes to fast food options. Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: Yes

I had an excellent lunch yesterday at this Korean themes food cart. While I wasn’t sure what to expect as street food, I found it to be surprisingly good. I know Korean food fairly well and it was excellent. I’ll be back for sure.

Load up on the hot sauce as they don’t give you enough kimchi. Fresh ingredients and choice of protein all for a reasonable price, you can’t go wrong for lunch.

Finally made it to a food truck before they sold out(well, mostly — they ran out of chicken while we were in line) by eating lunch considerably earlier than I normally would. The boy and I are bibmbap fans, so we decided to give the Bap cart a try. The menu is pretty basic, as you’d expect — bibmbap with either chicken, beef or tofu, $ 7 tax included. They also sell jars of kimchi and a few Korean hot sauces. Drinks are $ 1 for pop or $ 1.50 for water(sparkling or still). Since they ran out of chicken, I opted for a mix of the beef and tofu. The servings come in a roughly 2-cup bowl. I was a bit disappointed by how rice-heavy the dish was. I like my bibmbap with loads of veggies to mix in! On the other hand given the restrictions Ottawa’s put on the food carts I’m guessing they’d run out even earlier if they tried to provide more veggies per dish. Once you’re served there are squeeze bottles of sesame oil, soy sauce, hot sauce and sesame seeds to dress your dish with. Don’t forget to grab a lid if you’re taking it to go! Bottom line: Veggie shortage notwithstanding, the food was tasty and you get a decent amount for the price. The boy did a good job of summing it up: «It’s good value for money and it’s something different — if it was right by the office I’d probably eat here once a week, but I probably won’t walk across downtown for it again.» If you’re passing by give it a go!

New street food cart on Bank St. between Albert and Slater. Simple, tasty food. Mostly they make Korean bibimbap, which is a bowl of rice with meat or tofu, veggies, and your choice of toppings like kimchi, sesame seeds, hot sauce, sesame seed oil, and soy sauce. I’ve been here five or six times so far and I really like the tofu bap. It comes with tofu, spinach, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and sliced omelette. The tofu is very flavourful, but not spicy, so I add hot sauce and kimchi to kick it up a notch. A coworker said that the chicken is a bit spicier. Overall, it’s a great place with fast service and fresh, filling food served by really nice people.
