Ok location but a long walk to Parliament Hill and other DT attractions. Parking is free which is a plus but tight if more than two stay overnight. Breakfast is so so. Not sure why we have to remove shoes as the carpets are nearing the end their useful lives. Plug into the wall if you want to use internet. Stay in the top most room that has its own AC if it is hot out. Next time we would stay closer to downtown and canal, skip breakfast and eat lunch and dinner at one of several wonderful restaurants around Ottawa and Gatineau.

we stayed two nights in «Room 1» during the last weekend of Ottawa’s Winterlude. the beds were comfortable, the room and bathroom very clean, and both breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. the proprieter, maria, has some rules that may seem strict to some(regarding parking, boots, etc.); however, it is precisely these rules that ensure all guests will enjoy their stay. the complimentary tea and hot chocolate available at all times is especially welcome in the colder weather. the neighborhood seemed quiet/safe. parking offstreet is tight, and may not always support a quick exit(not tested); but street-parking was a viable option for us over the weekend(check with Maria first). we will stay here again when/if we return to Ottawa. bonus tip: if you like phở, there are many options nearby!
