Pretty good… Though they charged 15.95 instead of 14.95 as advertised online for lunch.

So I decided to go back and give this place another shot. The first thing I did was prep my soy sauce and wasabi. Guess what, a dead soggy fly came flowing out from the big hole of the soy sauce container. The food and the speed today was decent but the bug in the soy sauce container just makes me wonder. They really need to work on the sanitation. They gave us a 10% deduction on the meal … But still… I’m scared to ever go back and do not think I will. The white tuna was good though just so you know.

Came for sushi with the lovely Andrea B and had a great time. The ordering menu is my favourite part — not only can you see pictures of your selections before ordering, but you can also review what you’ve ordered! I always forget and on those little paper thingys theres no way to check. Service was prompt and they didn’t rush us to leave even though we’d been there for 3 hours and hadn’t eaten anything in an hour… haha. Food was all great, we did eat all we could! Will be back!

I am a newbie to the sushi world so when my friend suggested this place for lunch the other day I said sure. I have only had lunch AYCE sushi at one other place and to be honest I was surprised at how limited the lunch menu was at 168 Sushi. The food was all good and came out quickly, besides we had to ask for the shrimp tempura sauce and had to wait for that because they were just making it. I probably would not rush back here to eat, I would definitely try it for dinner but for lunch I would rather go elsewhere, where there are more sushi choices. I have an intolerance to fish so I am limited to the amount of sushi I can eat and my choices were basically a california roll, and avocado/mushroom rolls/dynamite rolls — but only basic rolls. I was hoping to get one with mango etc. but no such luck at lunch. The food was good, I feel like I have to repeat this as I am only rating it A-OK and not giving it 4 stars because they limit the sushi options so much at lunch whereas the other sushi place I have been for lunch does not.

Parking is hidden. Its at the back of the restaurant. The food was okay. A little too greasy for my taste. The service was pretty bad. They have iPads but once you send in your order via the iPad, the waiter has to stop by and confirm it. It’s not like Ten Sushi where you send the order straight from the customers hands. More expensive than ten sushi. Costs $ 14 bucks for lunch. I wouldn’t recommend a second visit.

Food was good but service poor. The portions are smaller but nice selection of food. The waiters do not top up your water but that is to be expected at an AYCE restaurant. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm — no line or wait which was good. I would return but don’t expect a high level of service.

If I had to pick an AYCE sushi place, hands down this location. I prefer to go during their lunch hour as it saves a few dollars. Beat the crowd and go a late lunch around 4 pm.

I’ve had he chance to visit multiple time this location over the past year and I notice an improvement in both the presentation and the quality of sushi and sashimi. I am glad that this became a valid alternative to Fuji Sushi that here in the east end holds the standard as the best sushi place. Not quite there but close. I would still avoid some of he udon or soba noodle as I find them too water here. Stick to sushi, make rolls and sashimi.

Parking: There is a large and spacious parking lot behind the restaurant. There is an entrance from the back as well. The only downfall is they do not have handicap parking spots. So if you need one it might be difficult. Atmosphere: The place is very nicely organized and it is kept clean. They also have a table set up if you want to bring a large party. It looks like it seats at least 12+ people Servers: the server we got was extremely sweet and friendly. I have zero complaints. Ordering: you order on iPads. The software they use is very nice and user friendly. Food: the food is good and fresh. Especially the sashimi. The rolls are made with a good amount of fish and they don’t skimp out. I’ve been eating sushi for over 15 years and I can say this is worth the price. Dinner Prices: All Day Availability Adults: $ 24.95 the best part is that it is offered ALL day :) so you don’t have to wait until 3pm to go and eat dinner items. Seniors: $ 19.95 Kids: $ 13.95(8−10yrs old) $ 8.95(5 – 7 yrs old) $ 4.95(3 – 4 yrs old) Free under 3 years old Lunch Prices: 11am –330pm Adult: $ 14.95(M-F) $ 15.95(Sat, Sun, Holidays) Kids: $ 8.95(5−10yrs old) $ 3.95(3 – 4 yrs old) Free under 3 yrs old

We’ve tried lots of AYCE sushi, and 168 on St. Laurent wins the prize for Ottawa! Sure it might not compare to the top-notch quality that you would find at a 5* Japanese sushi a-la-cart, but if you want a bottomless feast of GOOD sushi and a nice selection of other Asian treats(a little bit of Chinese dim sum, some Thai, some Korean stuff…) this is the place. Sashimi is certainly a small cut, but fresh and excellent quality — especially the salmon, white tuna, octopus and surf clam. Yum. Rolls are good, a little heavy on the cucumber in a few(to my wife’s pleasure) but light on the rice — a sign that they aren’t cheaping out and trying to stuff you. Most rolls are only 4 pieces, and everything else you can order 1 or 2 pieces — so you can try everything. Tiramisu for dessert was great. Small, like a shot glass, so I might have had like 6. Staff are all from China, and are SUPER friendly and very attentive and patient. iPad ordering is fun and easy! Check it out. Alex

So here is the thing. the food was delicious. I have never been to a place like this before, so fresh and good. I mean wow! The ordering method was so cool… I pads. You just click what you want and ping the server and then they bring you your food. The only downfall and the only reason I gave it 3 stars was the service. I mean it’s not the best. The servers are not on point. I had asked 3 times for water before she finally came back and looked at me so I could ask. There was one situation where I wanted a certain kind of sushi because I don’t eat tuna and she told our table«no no you eat what you have then order more» and I had to say nicely«but I don’t eat what is here and I’m ordering something different». They just quickly drop off your food and off they go! Besides that no complaints!!! Planning many more dinners there!

This place is great. I want to find something to critique but I can’t really find anything. Maybe the miso wasn’t hot enough? I very rarely give out a 5⁄5 but there are first times for everything Solid place, lots of parking, nice people clean environment. Good price. It’s a slam dunk

The only good thing about this restaurant is how lightning fast the things are served(but even this point has its downside since the food clearly is pre-made and thus comes served lukewarm). If you are looking for something hip and downtown, it’s not… It’s in a so-so area, and from the outside I thought it was just some old crass closed-up place(but I admit the inside is pretty if you don’t count how dirty the bathrooms were). For 2 adults and 1 kid it cost us over 80 $, which I’d say isn’t worth it, not for the quantity because obviously it’s AYCE but the quality is mediocre. Like others mentionned, there is nothing phenomenal. There is a lot of choice, but don’t expect to get in your plate what you see on the pictures(you order on an iPad). Some of the staff is friendly, others are plain rude. Oh and don’t bother downloading their app, even tho they have a sign on their door that says you’ll get specials if you do, they’ll have no idea what you are talking about.

My wife and I went there for lunch last week, we use to go to the one in Nepean, but we were in the east end, so we stopped by St-Laurent. Decoration was nice and modern, food was good, but I do have an issue with the service, it was fast but people just put dishes on your table and leave, I felt like they just throw food on your table, and walk away. i would prefer they tell you what they’re bringing, so you’ll have an ideal what you’re eating.

One of the nice AYCE sushi buffets in Ottawa(~$ 15.76 w/tax included) with a nice selection of lunch offerings. The raw fish tastes fine(like salmon, tuna, mackerel, snapper) while their cooked counterparts are nicer with tempura crisps incorporated into the rolls. While there are fresher places in Ottawa to eat(ex. Tokyo sushi), this place offers a great compromise between dining space, qualify food and speed of service. It’s been my go-to spot since it had first opened up a few years ago. I will mention that the tofu rolls aren’t exactly the greatest and may be too sweet and vinegary for some tastes. Overall, I enjoy this place and it is one of my frequent visits.

Good AYCE sushi restaurant! Has one of the largest varieties of any sushi restaurant in Ottawa. They even have dimsum options! Admittedly, the quality isnt that great as you’d expect from any AYCE, but within the realm of AYCEs its definitely not bad. Price is pretty standard but the restaurants large menu is truly where it shines. Space is very large, can easily accommodate large parties. I go quite often when I’m back in town and see old high school friends!

All you can eat sushi: it’s very good for an «all you can eat» option. This is however considering such options will sacrifice quality for quantity. The two tofu options we tried were both very good: deep fried and crispy tofu. There are a lot of maki options as well as noodles, dim sum, teriyaki, and of course sushi. The maki was surprisingly generous with their fish portions and pretty good too! The noodles, seaweed salad, and sushi were all decent as well; roughly what you might expect at any decent all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. Your menu and ordering all happens on a iPad which is left with you at your table for the duration of the meal. The iPad can also be used to call your server, who seemed to respond within seconds of our request during a very busy lunch hour. Overall a good experience and I will absolutely return — even though we live on the other side of the city, this will likely be our go-to option for all-you-can-eat sushi.

Compared to the other AYCE sushi restaurants in Ottawa, the variety of sushi and maki rolls are limited. There are no specialty rolls(at least during lunch time) and the standard rolls offered were plain and almost tasteless. The cooked food, however, was quite good and they offered a greater variety ranging from dim sum to udon to Korean food. Overall the service was quick and efficient. Food came out within a few minutes you place the order and there were no errors at all. The workers are friendly and the overall atmosphere was comfortable. They recently added an IPad menu which makes ordering very easy for those who are visual and want to see photos of each item. I had an overall good experience but wish there was more variety in their sushi.

Alright people, this shit is ALLYOUCANEAT. Please take that into account when you come here. For that price you think this sushi is going to be bomb??? NOWAY! It’s not shitty but it’s not awesome… geeze. Anyways I was really impressed by this place, they were organized and the food wasn’t the worst. Their rolls were good, sides were good, but cooked menu items were really small and not very appetizing. They were speedy, and had A LOT of items! Like 168 items all you can eat? Count my ass in :) Definitely come here if you’re hungry and want some rolls, don’t if you want sashimi and nigiri only.
