This place has good quality food and very friendly service. I love their hot and sour soup! I know that the dishes are made fresh and have never been disappointed!

Simple, Chinese comfort food. Family favourite for 20+ years. Ginger fried shredded beef is good if you want something heavy. Wonton soup is great, tastes fresh. Green beans in black bean sauce is one of my favourite dishes. Again, not the city’s best Chinese but good quality food in a relaxed environment.

What to do — our favorite NVan Chinese restaurant was closed for private party. We decided to try another neighborhood Chinese restaurant, based on the one Unilocal posting — five star recommendation. Either this reviewer is good friend of the owner or dined at a different restaurant than we did! We ordered four dishes — all were quite tasteless and disappointing. The sweet and Sour boneless pork, a staple of most Chinese restaurants, was dry and hard — it must have been cooked sometime ago and then reheated. Our beef hot pot should have been called onion hot pot. It was full of chopped onion with some not too tender beef added. The house special chow mien was not very special — just a package of dried noodles heated in the wok with some assorted meats, small shrimp and vegetables sprinkled on top. The lemon chicken was the only dish cooked fresh with a nice crispy coating. However, the lemon sauce was watery and had little lemon flavor. All in all it was a disappointing meal and we will not be going back.

Woon Lee Inn offers the best Chinese food. Whatever you order is excellent-tasting, abundant, very reasonably priced and served with a smile at this family-owned restaurant. Whether you live in North Van or happen to be visiting, it’s well worth a visit! You won’t be disappointed.
