This place was so horrible and damaged my nails. My poor sister got an infection in her pinky nail from how careless the girl was. So horrible, if you go here you better be ready for them to start peeling up in less than four days and you may get a horrible infection from how dirty they are and they do not sterilize any of those tools. So stupid they make you give a star when I wouldn’t give them any!

I’ve only started trying solar nails and the owner did them for me the first time, with less than satisfactory results. I tried another staff who did a good job. I just came in and she was in holidays, so the owner did them again. He went on about how he has 18 years experience, and was better than her. Another couple ladies came in asking for her and he wouldn’t respond to them so they left. He didn’t listen to my request for a trim and cut my nails very short. He was angry and rough while he worked, he hurt me, didn’t apologize, and was mad at me!!! I didn’t like the work he was doing but chose to not say anything. He said ‘I don’t know who did your nails last but not good’ I told him his staff had, and him before. No response. Once he was done he went on about how good he was and how he did the best work available on my nails. It was a horrible experience and again less than satisfactory results. I’m looking for somewhere else to go next time. Try Top Secret Salon !

I apologize in advance for writing yet another unfortunate nail salon experience. I will write a positive one to counter balance the negativity next ;-) I went to Secret Nail & Tanning for my first time last year during the early summer. It is owned by an older Philippines couple. The salon was recommended to me by a friend who has had affordable waxing services. As I am not that into waxing, I decided to go for a pedicure. They were pushy and pressured me into a shellac mani and some glittery nails on top of the pedicure with a design. They had a poor selection of colors and they were all old looking. The male kindly opened a new one for me as I was unsatisfied with the selection. His lady partner was not impressed by this and she scolded him in non-English. The pedicure was performed by lady partner and it was OK. She asked if she could draw a design, I asked how much, she laughed as if she didn’t understand and skirted around it and started doodling without my permission. There was a much younger woman who was doing my mani. I liked her nails and asked if they could be done like hers, and she said yes. While I will not deny they did a nice job on my nails, the experience was uncomfortable. They kept talking in non-English in a way that felt like they were judging and talking badly about their clients(speculation and not confirmed of course) and then asking me obscure personal questions like if I had a boyfriend or not. The next thing I know I walked out of there having paid over a $ 100 because the charged me for mani + pedi + shellac + glitter + design on toes + flip flops because I didn’t bring any. I should have known better about the cost however in my defense nothing was communicated properly to me. I did however love my mani and deemed the experience as OK. I went back again a couple months later for a pedicure. They tried to upsell me but I was quite firm and stated just a pedicure. When I sat down, I couldn’t help but notice how dirty the floor was. There was random bits of hair and nails. I also saw them using the same nail tools on different people(one large basket that they grabbed stuff out of). I was tempted to say something but I knew it wouldn’t go over well and that they likely would have pretended not to understand me. She trimmed my large toe nails vertically down on either side which really upset me as I know how that can subsequently cause ingrown toe nails and I thought all nail salon people knew better than to do this. The color again was old and disappointing. I left there feeling uneasy and grossed out by the lack of ethics and morals of their salon. A month later when I took all of the nail polish off, I noticed that my left big toenail looked a little dry. It got mildly worse over the course of the winter & summer, but I didn’t think anything of it as it affected such a small portion of my nail and it just looked dry. A couple weeks ago(when I had an ingrown toe nail) it clicked that I better go to the doctor and see if it’s a fungus that I contracted from that salon. Alas, what do you know, I was diagnosed with a mild form of toe nail fungus. The Doctor prescribed me a nail polish which I have to apply every day for 6 – 12 months before it will likely go away!!! Granted, I could have gotten the fungus from anywhere but believe me when I say I am REALLY careful. I don’t go to many public places and if I do I do not walk around with bare feet. Considering the experience and the timeline it seems consistent that I got it from the salon. Sorry if this is too much information, and trust me I do not like sharing the fact that I contracted a fungus, but I am a firm believer in honesty and that people should be aware of all aspects around my experience. Needless to say I will never go back, nor do I recommend any of their services. I have only had nails done, but I can only assume their ethics are the same for waxing & tanning, yuck! NOTE: If you suffer from a fungal or viral infection on your feet(or hands), please for the LOVEOFGOD notify the nail salon and inquire about their sanitation techniques and if they are willing to work with you. If not, DOITYOURSELF! It is a MAJOR, time consuming pain in the ass to get rid of and incredibly selfish of you not to take the appropriate measures to prevent spreading your infection to others.

I’ve gone here a number of times to get a pedi and nail gels and have always had them do a good job. Try to get the guy to do the nails as he really seems to know what he’s doing. I had a lady do them once, and wasn’t nearly as happy. The place is a bit of a mess and I’m surprised that they haven’t broken any health violations(there is dust everywhere), but I’ve never gotten an infection or anything. And my nails(fingers and toes) always look great & I’ve gotten many compliments. Anyways, give them a try. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

Came in to get a pedicure and shellac manicure done. I will start with the pedicure… The lady who was doing it seemed to be in a rush and the paint job she did was very sloppy. When she was finished I had polish on the tops of my toes and she missed the sides of the nails my little toes all together… I ended up asking the lady doing a pedicure on a girl next to me if she could fix it, she did and apologized. When it came time to get my manicure the women who did it asked if I had it done before, when I told her yes and it lasted two weeks, she assured me that it should last much long then that a month. She did a good job and I was happy with my nails so I paid and went home. After work the next day I noticed my nail shellac nail polish was lifting by the end of the night and the paint on two of my nails had completely lifted and peeled off! So the next day I headed back to the salon to get it fixed. When I arrived and told a man working the front desk(who I think might be the manager) he told me he won’t fix it as I got a discount for the sloppy pedicure… I was shocked. I told him I paid full price for the shellac and was told it would last a month but its only been two days so i would like to get it fixed. He then told me that the women who did my manicure was not in so I would need to come back in two days when she works next. At that point I asked for my money back, but of course he refused.
