At $ 23 per person for the breakfast buffet, do not go here unless you plan to eat a lot. Unfortunately, the food isn’t that good. Fresh trays of hot food were brought out… barely lukewarm. The scrambled eggs appeared to have been made from powder mix. Thankfully they had fresh fruit, croissants and coffee. But our bill came to almost $ 60 after the crazy Canadian taxes, and that’s a lot for basically a continental breakfast.

On a recent trip to Niagara Falls ON to celebrate a milestone birthday for me, my lovely wife and I stayed at the Marriott Fallsview Hotel. After having a nice breakfast in the Terrapin Grille on our first full day there, we decided to try it for dinner that evening as the menu looked interesting, and we would not have to venture out into the throngs of tourists in search of the closest Tony Roma’s or Margaritaville. We made a reservation on our way out to our day’s adventures. When we arrived on the mezzanine level via elevator, we were greeted and promptly shown to our table with a great view of the Horseshoe and American Falls, with the extra added attraction of a beautiful rainbow. Our server, Mario, was very friendly and helpful with discussing dinner options. First order was a round of cocktails, Grey Goose and cranberry for my wife and a Tanqueray and tonic for me. For starters, we opted for the fried calamari to share and the«Sliceberg» salad, a wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon, for me. Pretty standard fare for any restaurant, but both were enjoyable and well prepared. On to mains. My wife loves salmon, so the Grilled Atlantic Salmon was her choice. I wanted to order the Ontario Trout, but it was not to be had. After some questions about what I liked, Mario suggested the Grilled Vegetable and Herb Risotto with goat cheese. I am not a big fan of chevre, but I figured what the heck and gave it a shot. With dinner, we ordered two glasses of Jackson-Triggs(a local Niagara winery) Rosé. When Mario brought our dishes, both just immediately enveloped us with wonderful aromas of herbs and freshness. My wife’s salmon came with fingerlings, a nice corn and bean salad and topped with pea shoots. My risotto had so many nicely grilled veggies that were complemented by the goat cheese and creamy arborio rice. Four thumbs up. After a day of touring Niagara Falls, it was certainly a treat to not have to go out again among the masses to find a good dinner with great service and a spectacular view of the Falls.

Went with my husband for anniversary dinner. Very nice atmosphere and service. We ordered fried calamari, fettuccine with seafood and risotto. All was delicious. Next day came for breakfast buffet. Enjoyed it very much. A very good selection of fruits. They even had raspberries. Prices are good for Niagara dining.

Personally loved the view and the ambiance. The food itself is alright. The servers are always excellent.

Should be called«terrible». The chef discovered chives today and put them on and in everything. ¼ inch thick $ 40 steak. Kids mac n cheese has a sandy texture to the cheese sauce. Even the butter on the table is nasty. EVERYTHING was awful. I wish we went to Taco Bell instead.

Wow, beyond all of my least expectations! We came here after a chilly sightseeing day only to avoid a walk or a car ride. That decision turned out to be an epic mistake. The best part of the meal was the roll. The salads were way over dressed, the French onion soup was salted enough to melt this seasons entire snowfall, and the entrees, steaks were very poor cuts of meat. For a Marriott property to have a restaurant this bad is shocking?

The food was good. But just good. Not great as the price tags would imply they should be. My ladies chicken was«delicious» but a bit over cooked… My mix seafood pasta was also tasty but the scallops dry and a bit fishy… Our server Dan was charming. He was 5 star worthy but the food, it’s cost and obstructed views knock this place down to a 2. Wish I could give it a 2.5 because the food was good. It just wasn’t as good as it should be for the price tag. Up your food game or knock your prices down.

Food was acceptable. A bit over priced for the quality. We liked the desert better than our salmon and steak. The cheesecake and cream brulee was good. For the entrée, I had better expectation being that it’s with Marriott.

After having the worst service at dinner across the street the night before, Terrapin exceeded my expectations and provide that good service does exist in Niagara Falls. Our server, Shawna(I think was her name) was amazing. Very personable and accommodating. For my first drink I ordered a French 75. She had never heard of it and looked up the recipe. I definitely appreciated her taking that extra step. They closed at 10 and we ended up being there finishing up our drinks until 10:30. She didn’t rush us to settle up the bill and there was no pressure. Great service, great food and a great view of the Falls. I definitely recommend it.

Just wrapped up a great meal here. I had the duck pasta in a brown meat sauce yummy. My wife had the herb dredged grilled chicken breast… again yummy!!! And our little one had the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. The fries were sweet & salty and good!!! We went to TGI Fridays and spent the same amount on a lesser meal. If you don’t go crazy with the beverages and adding sides and salads 2 can dine and get a really good meal w/o breaking the bank.

Okay let me start by saying I had read the reviews here prior to selecting this restaurant and, had it not been for the fact we had been sightseeing all day, and were beyond exhausted, we wouldn’t have given it a shot. NOW, let me say, it was GREAT. Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side, but the service(Mario was our waiter) and the food were both very good. We had the calamari app and the wine braised short beef. Both were good. The calamari was not fried in the traditional light batter, but more of a fish and chips style batter. It was very tasty and the calamari was cooked to perfection, which to me, means not gummy. The ribs were very tasty as well, and could be cut with a fork, they were THAT tender. I had the French Onion soup and my beau had the Caesar salad. The soup hit the spot(I felt/feel a cold coming on). It was not your typical brothy soup – it had texture and taste. The Caesar salad? Fresh fresh fresh. And the presentation was different as well. It was not your typical chopped Caesar salad. Instead, they brought out 3 mid size romaine leafs, fresh Parmesan cheese and a toasted garlic bread slice(for the croutons). For the entrée I had the lobster and shrimp over fettuccine, and beau had the chicken cordon bleu. Again, all was tasty, and Mario was kind enough to box what was left of the entrees for us to take back to our room. Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend this spot for the food. The view to me was not all that but that’s because it doesn’t come close to the view of the falls we have from our room on the 12th floor. Again, yes, a bit on the pricey side – 4 drinks and the food mentioned above, came out to 196 w/o tip. However, in comparison to the other restaurants we have experienced here on our vaca? I’d rather spend my money here. Reservations definitely recommended and their busy time starts around 730 pm.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve encountered in a very long time. My meal(chicken) was undercooked. The staff told me that it was not, but they brought a dessert(in addition to the one I had already ordered) to appease me. This dessert was frozen. They also added it to my check. The service was incredibly slow and didn’t seem to care about the satisfaction of their diners. I was staying at the Marriott, as a regular lodger with this chain, I will no longer dine or stay with their company due to this particular experience. Extremely disappointed in the quality of the food and the lack of care by the management about our comments and concerns.

this was god awful. and expensive. bad combo. whoever rated this place well has zere clue about dining well. the steak was grey and tasteless. my seafood pasta was striving for mediocrity — and falling short. really a disappointing rip off. so when you stay there and they give you the $ 40 voucher — just do not go — seriously. back away. it’s not even trying. they are dialing it in because they have a captive audience. ANDSTAYFARAWAYFROMTHEBREAKFASTSPREAD. ITWASSHAMEFUL!

It’s not that the food is only two-star worthy. It’s the prices of the food… and eating here is just not worth the price. Unless you have a hotel voucher, then it’s more reasonable. Firstly, this restaurant has great views of the falls. We were seated by the window both times that we ate here and we happily snapped photos of our food with the falls as the background. However, is the view worth paying almost twice as much? .No(–1.5 Unilocal Stars). We had a voucher for the breakfast buffet which is regularly $ 22 a person. It’s a nice buffet with sausages, eggs, hash browns, and there is an omelet station. There was a large selection of yogurt and fresh fruit as well. It’s not the largest selection, but it was a nice breakfast. The pastries were actually really fresh and tasty. As for the dinner, we had a voucher to save $ 40. It’s not a true $ 40 dollars(I’m not quite sure of how they redeem it, but it’s not). To put things into perspective, the price for a steak entrée is $ 56. It’s a bit steep for eating at the Marriott. We ordered the salmon, grilled calamari, and a walnut and cheese spinach salad. I really liked the fresh bread and whipped herbed butter served with dinner. The salmon was perfectly cooked and served with root vegetables. The portions were decent and everything was well prepared. Overall, not a bad meal, but we still had to dish out about $ 35 after applying our dinner voucher. With so many other options available nearby, it’s not a surprise that the restaurant was not close to capacity. Not a bad place to grab a meal, but you are paying for the view.

We stayed at the Marriott and made Dinner reservations at Terrapin Grille to celebrate my birthday. We called the restaurant just an hour before to push our reservation to an hour later and they were happy to accommodate. I had the chicken and my husband had the salmon. The food met our expectations… delicious mashed potatoes!!! The service was truly exceptional… our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She got me dessert with ‘Happy Birthday’ written with a candle(how sweet!) We also had breakfast next morning, regular breakfast fare with pastries, cereal, fruit and omelets station. Everything was fresh! My only complaint though is the view. We got a table next to the window for our Dinner but the only view we had is of some road! Also the décor is a bit outdated. That being said I would definitely dine here next time… Great people!!!

I really didn’t like the menu choices or the dish I ended up ordering… which was the bousin and red pepper chicken dish. I was so disappointed with this mediocre meal. And the prices really pissed me off. It is ridiculous to charge that much for peg leg chicken. If they are gonna keep prices as is, they really need to step up their game. I also got to experience the lacking breakfast buffet and am thankful we didn’t have pay for it. I have given them 1 star for service and one for the amazing cherry cheesecake that we had and were able to bring back to our room. However, the first time we had it, it was perfect. The second time it seemed like someone fell asleep while plating it. But it still tasted good!

My husband and I ate here when we were visiting Niagara Fallos on our honeymoon. I must admit, we were somewhat disappointed in our meal. The restaurant itself looks and feels a tad outdated. It does however offer you a beautiful view of the falls, which is most likely why people dine here. It is definitely not for the food. For my entrée, I ordered the red pepper, proscuitto, asparagus and Boursin stuffed Grilled Chicken Supreme. My husband ordered the centre cut filet mignon with Cabernet caramelized red onions. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable. It really was average at best. For an appetizer, we ordered the crème brûlée. It was pretty bland. It definitely needed more of the Bourbon Island vanilla pods that our server raved about. Our server however was wonderful. When she found out it was our honeymoon, she surprised us with champagne. She also made fantastic wine suggestions. All in all, this restaurant can be skipped.

My wife and I had dinner here last evening. The view of the falls is terrific as was our dinner. My wife had the salad with baked brie, which she is still raving about. My choice for salad was the Terrapin House Salad in Inniskillin Ice wine Vinaigrette, also excellent. For the main course my wife chose the Red pepper, proscuitto, asparagus and Boursin stuffed Grilled Chicken Supreme, very nice. I chose the Long boned 10 oz Ontario Pork Chop with a garlic laced mushroom ragout which I would higly recommend. A place where we would dine again without hestitation.

This is your typical disappointing tourist attraction hotel restaurant. The only saving grace being the view of the falls. It’s hard to say some menu items were a miss as we had a collective large number of dishes that were all quite mediocre at best. The bolognese I had wasn’t too horrible, but a watery bottom of the dish is unacceptable. Even the rigatoni came out flat and just a little overlooked. Perhaps the worst of it all was the calamari appetizer, which was breaded and so extremely dry. Most didn’t touch it after a first bite. The ice wine sabayon and seasonal cobbler was just a jumbled mess. The sabayon too sweet and the cobbler unlike any cobbler I’ve ever had. Not wanting to beat them while they’re down, I won’t mention the other dishes in detail. There are too many conceptual and execution failures. I suggest you come in with low expectations enjoy some wine and just concentrate on the company and the falls. I do have to commend our server for putting up with our indecisive table. We got things when we needed and she answered all our questions, no matter how ridiculous they were. 2 stars for the friendly service and decent view. Unless you don’t want to brave the cold weather outside, avoid this place. There’s better food in this town.
