I went in today as a walk in and asked for a blow dry and was told that it would be no problem. Anyways the stylists all seemed very nice and confident in what they were doing, however, the girl who did my hair was probably the most inexperienced stylist I’ve experienced, that’s if she even was a stylist. The wash I got was great, scalp massage that could put you to sleep. It was perfect. The blow dry on the other hand, I could have done a better job in my sleep. I do have a lot of hair and it’s pretty long, and yes it is a difficult task for someone with no experience. I was expecting a professional blow out, however, it’s not what I got, I also stopped her and showed her how I wanted it done. By the end of it, I was disappointed, I could have just blow dried my hair with a paddle brush and called it a day. The 3 stylists there, Yu, Joey and Colin had their clients leaving the salon looking fantastic, but unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience with the junior who did my hair. In the end I expressed my disappointment and did not pay for the service because they refused to charge me. I’m happy to pay for a service that I receive. I do work in the wedding industry and understand how important customer satisfaction is. In the end, I went home and finished my hair to my satisfaction. Just a tip to anyone who does go to this salon: make sure you have one of the main stylist do your hair:)

The scalp massage alone, while they wash your hair, is worthy of coming here in and of itself! That being said… There’s a cool vibe here, a nod to history, and a nod to technology with ultra cool urban fixtures in a historical building. Lots of natural light — the stylist will turn your chair so you can look out the window, and enjoy the goings on of main street. With their stylists continually training and competing in high end competitions, you’ll get an upscale cut for a fair price. From professional to super funky, they will cater to your lifestyle and your world with their expertise to get you there… whether in one big swoop, or tangible steps. They gauge your level of comfort-ability and go from there. From tweens to grannies, regular cool dudes to CEO’s — they can handle it all with their skill and versatility. DO take them up on parking at the back — shared lot with the library. And be sure to visit the new coffee shop/bakery(including gluten free) next door! (review on that shortly) Best to book in advance about 2 months, but they can fit in on a cancellation list basis.
