Decided to spend some retail dollars in my own neighbourhood for a change so went over to SoftMoc. The customer service here is consistently poor. Only been here three times and always find myself having to break up staff chit chat in order to try shoes on. I actually walked out the last time because I was one of two people in the store and the sales associate never acknowledged either one of us and that was after having browsed for 15 minutes. The empty cash desk had the sales associate very focused and I’m not convinced she even knew she had two customers in the store. So on my fourth visit, I managed to purchase shoes only to find another store, my usual not-in-the-hood store, selling them for HALF the price I paid. Knowing almost all retailers offer price match, I called SoftMoc only to be told that they do not offer price match unless it’s within the shopping complex. Not positive, but is Aldo, Payless or Wal-Mart carrying the same brands as SoftMoc? Doubtful. So in essence… they don’t offer price match at all right? I was also told that if I didn’t have the box, they wouldn’t accept them for return. Silly me… recycling the box a little too quickly post-purchase…but for a savings of HALF, I fished that box right out of recycling, taped it back up, put in the shoes and returned those puppies. I will gladly go back to my usual store and never shop at SoftMoc again as a result of poor customer service and price gauging. Would love to keep my retail dollars local but it amounted to a significant savings going elsewhere. Ridiculous retail mark-up at SoftMoc. Shop accordingly.

Called the store ahead of time, asked do you carry slippers? Was told yes we have many to choose from. I went to this location since they said they had slippers and were close to home. I was not greeted until I walked up to a nice young clerk. When I asked for slippers they too me to flip flops and thongs. I said no those are flip flops I want slippers to wear in the house. I was shown moccasins in about 10 shades. I asked what about what is shown on the website, the cashier laughed and said no that is all stores we don’t get those here. Unimpressed with selection and quality of staff, if you sell shoe’s know the difference in a slipper to a flip flop

I came here on my birthday and received the most horrible service. There weren’t that many customers and my sales associate brought me a pair of shoes and didn’t come back to me for a good 15 minutes. The boots had a tag that said $ 69.99 on them but rang in at the regular price(apparently they were already on sale). The boots I bought started to peel 2 weeks later. If I wanted boots that peeled so easy I would have bought cheap boots from Payless

Experienced the worst customer service here. The shoes in question were marked on sale at around 40% off and the register rang up the regular price. We were told if we came back they would ask manager for approval and we would receive the sale price. After returning we were told that the sale price couldn’t be offered when the tag specifically advertised the sale price. Wasted much time returning to store when they could have told us the same answer from the get go. Every worthy store worth shopping at does practice the standard code of scanning. Otherwise it would just be considered false advertising.
