Bert’s Automotive Transmissions

It’s been years since I have even thought about using Bert’s as I rotate new vehicles every 4 years. I brought my car (2012 Scion XB) to Grandview tires and auto service and was told my transmission fluid is burned and they recommend a flush and replacing with synthetic fluid for $ 250. I found this a bit suspicious and did some research online. I realized later I should call Bert’s to get their opinion and they told me after checking the manufacture’s recommendation they say putting anything in other than Toyota transmission fluid will void the warranty. They gave me an estimate of $ 160 – 180 which includes taking transmission pan out getting all old fluids out and replacing the filter and filling up with Toyota transmission fluid after reinstalling pan. Well I’m glad I gave them a call as they will save me money and not void my warranty.

Dave is a great, helpful, caring guy. When I bought a lemon, he insisted I take it back rather than use up the warranty which would probably not have fixed the real problem anyway.
I have been going there ever since, and he is a real straight shooter.

Man oh man did I want to give this place a good rating but they kept disappointing me. Bert runs a tight ship over there with his young workers waiting on edge to his instruction. The problem is his young workers are un-​organized and seem to be overwhelmed with work.
September: I knocked off my side mirror slightly but enough that it had to be fixed. So Bert suggested to save money he call around and try to get a used one (same colour) shipped in and than installed. Awesome! Thanks for trying to save me money Bert.
October: Hey, have you heard anything? Young-​kid takes down all my information again as they seemed to of forgot. «slightly irritating»
November: Heard nothing…
December: Got a nail in my tire, they fixed it for me, quickly, efficiently and in a cost-​effective way. «Oh yeah, we are still waiting on side mirror».
January: Phone call– «We will call you when I get it in»
February-​Present: Going to the Honda dealership.
Bert, sort your troops over there!
