La distillerie has one of the best drinks in Montréal. My friend and I went there every night we were in Montréal and loved it! We just hated this weird bouncer guy on Friday who randomly started carding

This was one of our favorite bars we went to in Montrèal. Very friendly, great vibes. They have board games and cards that you can take back to your table and play with your friends. The cocktails were delicious, my friends ordered large mason jars and thoroughly enjoyed them. I ordered a rum runner and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The bartender torched my lime and made it flame which was a nice touch. Overall, we loved it here!

I tried the Hurricane drink. It was really good!
Music is nice, friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
The only problem was the time I had to wait until they brought my drink. It was pretty long.
I’d definitely go again but earlier than 7pm.

Thee best cocktails in Montréal! What a spread. Anything you could ever dream of in a cocktail. And who could pass down little mason jars of goldfish to snack on?

If you want to have the best drinks in Montréal, come to this place. I even created my own cocktail behind the bar. The bartenders are extremely friendly. I absolutely love this place.

La Distillerie, c’est vraiment un bar à essayer plus d’une fois, surtout si vous êtes de passage à Montréal! C’est un incontournable! Des cocktails au top, avec l’option 1L vraiment pas mal!!!
Les serveurs sont expérimentés et dévoués, ils vous en font voir de toutes les couleurs!
Les cocktails sont aussi bons les uns que les autres, vous né serez pas déçus!

C’est un endroit magique où tout est possible. On peut y rencontrer l’âme soeur ou même son pire cauchemar. Les breuvages sont originaux. C’est divertissant à voir. Bien que coûteux, ça en vaux la peine. Les serveurs sont super cool et gentil. Ils vont tout t’expliquer.
Il y a plein de belles filles là en plus. Moi je capote. Belle place pour jouer à des jeux de société, danser et rire.

I came to La Distillerie after a good friend’s recommendation. I am now certain this friend knows so little about me. My fiancée and I went on Sunday, two days after Christmas. It was packed, loud, and quite dark. There were also games: the people at the table next to us were playing Jenga. My fiancée hates crowds, but I don’t care one way or another as long as the drinks are good.
They are not. The menu has a great selection and even indicates the strength of the drink next to a picture and description of the cocktails. My first drink was rated a 4 (5-​point scale): The Monk-​y-​Tonk. I love Tequila and the menu states that the drink is made with tequila. This drink also included my favorite liqueur, Chartreuse! However, the description on the page and reality were quite different: there was a TON of ice but I tasted very little tequila. The Chartreuse was non-​existent. There was absolutely no way this drink could be a 4 in intensity. There was far too much ice!
Because I wanted to be fair (and I had walked over a mile on the slush-​covered sidewalks), I tried another drink: Pineapple Express (rating: 3). It was better, but that is not as great a compliment as one might think. There was definitely Canadian whiskey in this drink, but the drink contained the most hidden pineapple I’ve ever experienced. Let me be clear: I was not expecting a Piña Colada-​level of pineapple, I simply wanted to have some pineapple flavor. The drink is called Pineapple Express, after all. I was disappointed. Because I respect my palate and felt I spent enough of my money, I politely asked the waitress for my check. We paid and we left, vowing not to invite said friend/​recommender to our wedding. (Since we love him, we won’t.)
I did like the service. Even on a very busy night, we were cared for very well. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. If we liked this place, I am sure she would have made sure the drinks continued to flow.
But, La Distillerie and I were not meant to be. Clearly, this is a place for a younger crowd. I would have loved this place in college, but I’m in my early 30s now and I appreciate good alcohol. If you live for sweet, fruity drinks with a touch of alcohol, the La Distillerie is your place. If you want a drink that leaves you satisfied, a drink that is made for sipping (and with each sip, you smile), go someplace else. When we find that place, we shall let you all know.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would as this was hands down the most ridiculously amazing bar experience my husband and I have ever had.
We stumbled upon La Distillerie No.2 while looking for some place to get a drink after the US-​Germany World Cup game. The super friendly bearded bouncer invited us in and, when we asked about snacks, told us it wouldn’t be a problem to bring something in from the nearby restaurant. He added the caveat that there would be hugs if we came back after getting food. We picked up some Thai take-​out nearby, both received very satisfying hugs and were promptly seated at the bar. A wonderfully energetic, goofy, ginger bartender (Jay) proceeded to give us silverware and toppings for our food and present us with delectable drinks menus. Their menu was ingeniously separated by flavor profiles and expertly executed so that every ingredient contributed to the flavor profile of the resulting beverage.
Given the curiosity and enthusiasm we showed, Jay was incredibly generous in sharing tasty things with us throughout the night. We got to compare the only spiced rum distilled in Montréal to Captain (Montréal Rum was so wonderfully spicy compared to the flat vanilla flavor of Captain), took delicious mixed cocktail shots with the bartenders, got to experience chasing Polish Zubrowka vodka with caramelized apples (patiently hand-​torched by one of the bartenders) and were offered the entire binder of the bar’s recipes since it opened to peruse. I was so thrilled to find a place that shared my passion for creating and sharing, with such a welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable yet super fun staff. If you are ever in Montréal, you really must go here!

Yesterday night we visited the place with a little group.
I liked the way how people treat the customers.
In 2 minutes we had table, we got our drinks fast. I recommend to try the small jar first, if you don’t like the taste the big one can be too much.
After all my favourite was the hurricane. If you like a little sour, refreshing cocktail you should take this.
The bartender is amazing. I loved to watch how he’s working.
The atmosphere is pretty cool. I really liked to listen these old songs, I felt myself young again. ^^, almost dancing… :D
The guy who was at the entrance usually came around and asked how we are, checked the tables.

Awesome and friendly staff at D2! I just love this laid back bar. Seems like whether you’re feeling for a relaxing weeknight drink or a night out drinking, this place is that versatile bar that will be fun no matter what.
The cocktails are delicious and creative. The devil is in the details. For starters, the beautifully designed and personalized menu will get you wanting to try every single drink. All fruit purées and most syrups and seasonings are made in house. A lot of love and respect for the craft goes into making the drinks that are served here. I often ask the bartenders to make me creations that aren’t on the menu and they really take the time to analyze what I like and create something delicious every time.
I highly recommend this place :)

Wonderful, friendly staff who take pride in their craft. Great cocktails, from simple to artisanal. The neighborhood offers many dinner choices (we asked for a recommendation and left with 10), if you can pry yourself away from the bar.

My boyfriend and I stopped by last week during our visit in Montréal (we’re from Chicago). I was really excited to try the drinks at this place because of all the good reviews I had read.
The drinks didn’t disappoint! Well, at least not me. I love sweet drinks so I tried the Mohawk and he had the mojito. We went during happy hour too, so the drinks were cheaper. Can’t beat that and free goldfish crackers!
The reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that even though both the drinks we tried had an alcohol intensity level of 4, they weren’t really that strong. That was a bummer.

Wow! Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, and out of a mason jar no less. Order the large, trust me. It’s more cost-​effective and I promise you’ll want more. The locally made beef jerky is also a plus. Be sure to try the Bromance. We went on a Tuesday night and this place was still packed to the brim. Luckily, we got there a bit early so we didn’t have to wait, but by the time we left there was a line to get in.

Pink, blue, red, yellow, they’ve got all sorts of colorful drinks in mason jars but it isn’t just the visual of the drinks that shines in this place because the drinks are as good as they look! I’ve tried many cocktails at La Distillerie and every single one of them has been a pleasure so far.
What I love about this place is the simple, creative, and comprehensive cocktail menu that shows how sweet/​fruity/​spicy/​sour/​strong your drink is so you can narrow down your selection according to your taste.
If you don’t know what to order then don’t hesitate to ask your waitress because they can help you filter your preferences and give suggestions.

Loved the atmosphere at this bar! And I definitely had the BIGGEST Bloody Cesar of my life. And the only reason I got a Bloody Cesar because I thought that’s what Canadians drank! (I’m from California)
The service was pretty slow, but the bar was packed.
I definitely enjoyed it and if I’m ever there again, I will get another large mason jar drink, but probably not a Bloody Cesar. It was beautifully garnished though! Yummy pickles!

After walking along ave Mont-​Royal and doing a lot of souvenir shopping my Hubs and I were in desperate need of a frosty libation. As if Bacchus was winking down upon us La Distillerie showed up at the exact moment we decided to take a break.
The front of the bar opens to the street, in case you need a peak inside before settling into one of the booths or at the bar. The cocktail list features many intriguing craft cocktails. I was drawn to the mad men whiskey based cocktail. Think a more detailed version of an old fashion. We had a few drinks here and managed to actually have a conversation, as this bar was more quiet than most others in the area.
The décor is dark wood, so inviting after walking for hours under the blistering sun. The booths looked small but comfortable, and probably helped keep the conversations low, you don’t really need to scream if your party is within whisper distance. I can see this bar being popular with the singles that like to mingle. The lights are low, the tables small, all key ingredients for romance. The music, whether chosen by the staff or a satellite station was kick ass, lots of great local music mixed with the now popular local bands. I.e. Arcade Fire, Wolf Mother, etc.
If I lived in MTL I would make this a frequent stop for after dinner drinks with coworkers. Especially in the winter, when a good drink can mean the difference between being comfortably cold and just plain freexing your ass off.

Huge fan! Drinks came in this awesome mason jar and they were all so tasty.
Luckily we were only a group of 3 and we got there pretty early so we didn’t really have to wait at all. The staff were so nice and accommodating!
Would definitely recommend anyone visiting to come here for a nice solid drink. I can’t remember which drinks I had, but when I go back, I’ll be sure to update this review as soon as possible!

We’d been on a road trip for quite a few days and visited a number of bars. Maybe it was the constant layer of poutine in our stomachs to absorb the alcohol, but neither of us so much as stumbled on the sidewalk or slurred a word — until that night at La Distillerie.
Happy Hour is 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the large jars are $ 3 off. Drinks are served in mason jars. I’m probably the only person who hates this trend solely because it’s so trendy (I’m looking at YOU, Pinterest!), but when I saw the large jar and began to drink, that hate turned into pure lust — for more booze!
I recommend the Rock A Rula (like a root beer float) and the Patriot (like a popsicle). The Mojito and Long Island were strong, and the Chupa Chupa (orange, amaretto, whiskey) goes down reaaal easy. Honestly, none of the drinks disappointed.
The complimentary Goldfish crackers are cute and very welcome while chugging monstrous cocktails.
The bar has a little bit of a hipster vibe going on with the décor, but it is far from pretentious. This isn’t the kind of cocktail bar that will leave you stumbling over names of ingredients. Stumbling out the door? Well, maybe.
I think we each got a hug from the bartender, or maybe he was the manager, but I can’t remember why.
I found myself giggling on the bus ride back to the apartment. Thankfully, I woke up with no hangover. La Distillerie is perfection!

I am by no means a big drinker — I usually start to get tipsy after getting halfway through a glass of wine — but since I read so much about this place before my trip to Montréal I just had to stop by to try one of their cocktails.
The Spiced Mango Cobbler was one of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever had — a little thick and creamy but not too sweet. I was expecting the bartenders to have the snooty mixologist attitude but there was none of that here. Instead they were all surprisingly friendly and down-​to-​earth. I’m glad I tried this place!

Wayyy better than the Ontario location! The service still needs to be faster, and ask for them to go easy on the ice; they put a lot in that can dilute the drink.
Go during happy hour, 4−7pm. The large jars are $ 3 off, and you can also snack on free goldfish (my friends and I went through about 6 jars of goldfish!!!)
I had the pineapple drink, which was pretty good. But I recommend the Hurricane; fruity and delicious!

Premièrement je vous dirais de faire un smart move et d’arriver tôt si vous voulez avoir un espoir d’être assis, surtout si vous êtes un groupe. Si vous êtes 2, assoyez vous au bar, c’est vraiment la meilleure façon d’avoir des drinks rapidement!
Le staff est bien sympathique et ils savent de quoi ils parlent. Avec la sélection de cocktails qu’ils ont, c’est le fun de pouvoir avoir de bons conseils. Les drinks comme tels… Miam. Leur mojito et le hurricane vous scrapperont votre journée du lendemain si, comme moi, vous trouvez qu’un pot masson c’est insuffisant… Ah pis oui, sur le coup ça a l’air cher, mais les portions sont généreuses!

I personally prefer this location much more to the original one on Ontario simply because it is larger and if you’re a large group it is easier to grab a table. I usually only go to this place for happy hour when they have specials so I can’t comment on how crowded it gets at other times but usually if you arrive early enough it isn’t too bad.
The drinks are really good and not watered down like at a lot of places. That being said the Mason jars can be quite pricey and if you don’t go at happy hour when the big ones are $ 3 off the cost can start to add up. The price of the regular cocktails though is in line with what you’d pay for a drink at any bar here. The mojito and the hurricane are good choices if you want a mason jar. If you’re looking for something else the Mad Man is owrth while.

Cette semaine, c’était la première fois que je visitais la deuxième Distillerie en ville et j’ai vraiment aimé. J’aime déjà leurs cocktails, surtout ceux dans les pots massons, mais vraiment, ils sont tous bons. Le service est aussi bons ici qu’aux autres endroits, mais ce qui change vraiment tout, c’est la grandeur de l’endroit (presque le double de places comparés à celle sur Ontario) et la grande fenêtre à l’avant qui permet de faire entrer un peu plus de lumière et de savoir qu’il fait encore soleil. On dirait aussi que le design de l’endroit permet une meilleure circulation, surtout quand c’est bien remplit de gens, alors j’imagine que même les soirs les plus occupés, c’est un peu plus plaisant à cette Distillerie. En plus, vu que c’est sur l’avenue Mont-​Royal, c’est assez facile d’accès et pas trop loin du métro. Ça tombe bien, surtout quand j’y avais avant 19h pour un gros pot à rabais!

Ok je me sens ridicule, je n’arrête pas d’updater mes reviews pour la D2 mais attention :
J’ai trouvé le meilleur barman en ville !!! Celle que nous aimions beaucoup (Valérie) n’est plus la les jeudi malheureusement. Nous en étions bien déçus jusqu’à ce que Jérôme arrive dans notre vie. (C’est à ce point la, oui) Règle numéro 1: TOUJOURS s’assoir au bar.
On jase d’alcool, de party, de tout et de rien. Il nous fait goûter des importations privées, il nous concocte des cocktails inédits selon nos goûts du moment. Jérôme est une perle comme on n’en voit plus de nos jours: il ADORE son métier et nous transmet sa passion à travers de ses créations. Sa bonne humeur rend le tout encore plus agréable. Nous y allons environ une fois par mois et il nous reconnaît, il se rappelle comment il a fait notre drink la fois d’avant, et quel dosage nous a plu. Un as, je vous dit !
Si vous n’avez pas 5 étoiles pour ce bar c’est que vous n’avez jamais eu la chance de rencontrer le staff extraordinaire derrière le bar, c’est moi qui vous le dit !

Je vous préviens tout de suite en ressortant de la distillerie vous appellerez direct votre grand mère pour qu’elle vous mette de coté des bocaux. En effet le concept de ce Bar c’est de servir les cocktails dans des bocaux et pour les gourmand il y a des bocaux de grand taille et je pense que l’on n’est pas loin des 75cl !!! Vu que les cocktails sont pas mal chargés et sucré ca monte vite.
Pour ce qui est du bar c’est sur que c’est pris d’assaut et que les places sont chère ! Bön avec de la chance une table se libéré à notre arrivé donc on a sauté dessus. Malgré le fait d’avoir une place vu la population a l’intérieur on est souvent bousculé. Cette population n’aide pas à avoir un service rapide mais lorsque le serveur s’occupe de vous il passé le temps pour vous expliquer les différents cocktails et vous conseiller en fonction de vos gouts.
D’ailleurs à l’entrée vous avez tous les mois le magazine de la distillerie avec des informations sur l’alcool et la liste des cocktails et même si les doses né sont pas écrites je pense que je vais en tester à la maison.

Ma mère me disait toujours d’arrêter de boire dans des pots Mason, mais maintenant, La Distillerie me donne le droit et avec beaucoup d’alcool en plus!
Souvent de la bonne musique qui joue (playlist dans un ordi en arrière du bar, au goût des employés).
C’est souvent ‘overcrowdé’, donc beaucoup de monde dans la p’tite place.
Faut s’attendre à rester debout longtemps!
Né commandez pas le pot mason régulier, payez vous la traite avec le méga pot mason pour 20 $ tips inclus et ça en vaut la peine!
Je vous suggère mon préféré: Electric Lemonade. Il n’est plus sur le menu, mais peut encore être commandé, délectez-vous…Debout!

J’adore! Tout simplement!!! Les cocktail sont différent, innovatif, mais surtout très bon
