If you’re a fan of comedy, this is probably one of the best little spots to catch an evening show. You can really get your money’s worth for $ 10 (with student ID) or $ 15 (for everyone who didn’t keep their old student ID). This is also a great date night spot since it’s an intimate environment. Note: If you sit in the front, be prepared to be teased all night.
Good: I am a huge comedy buff, so I would come here to catch big name headliners and new faces of comedy alike. If you show up early, you can get really good seats. If you buy your tickets online, you get free popcorn (which is salty as hell, so you end up buying a drink) and you get the best seats in the house. Also, if you had a great time and would like to come back again, pick up the flyer on the table because that’s a two for one coupon if you’re a cheapo like me.
Bad: The speakers can be a bit too loud if you sit on the sides. Since it’s a smaller venue, the openers and acts can be a bit of a hit or a miss. This is not a place to come every weekend because you will see the same acts multiple times.
Bottom Line: I still really dig this spot. If you don’t know what to do on a weekend, this is the place for you. From Thurs/​Fri/​Sat, they have 2 showings from 8:30pm or 10:30pm. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed (unless you have really bad openers for the show).

My husband, my brother-​in-​law, a few (incidentally, French-​speaking) friends and I came to see my brother perform on open mic night at the Comedy Nest. We had such a fun time! I was so impressed with the club! As the club is not too big, it is the perfect space to get your feet wet as a young performer and as an audience member, it feels very intimate.
It goes without saying that when it comes to a comedy club, one’s rating can change with the quality of the performers and the friendliness of the audience, but on the evening we attended, we were really pleased with all of the entertainers, the audience was convivial and the bar service was excellent.
In sum, a great little comedy club doing its part to provide comedy to English-​speaking Montrealers!

Awesome show last night called «the newbie tuesday». The acts were extremely hilarious and well structured. The place is small but there’s enough space for everyone to sit and laugh when times are rough and suffering from despair ahaha refering to Joey Elijas comedy show on the radio. It’s the only reason I know about this place. It’s at the forum on the 3^rd floor. The place is very sweet and the ambiance is friendly. The waitress was super sweet came to our table and asked very nicely if we would care to have drinks!
I had a cosmo and my friend had a glass of wine. It was really well made. Kudos to her.
The show was funny because it’s performers that have actual day jobs but complain about it hahaha. The tickets were dirt cheap 5 $ so WORTH IT!!! & we even got free tickets for a better show on Thursday’s or Friday’s when actual renowned stand up comedians come to town! This place is a big hit and I love how it’s in my beautiful city Montréal.
I recommend this place without any hesitations!!!
If you want to loosen up and have some fun and enjoy people’s company. It’s a great way to do so. Enjoy ;) cheers!

This is a great little club in a very random building movie bar facility place. I didn’t really understand. But I thought it was great. It’s very small, intimate. The service is good, and they get a nice round of comedians here. Grab food, and/​or drinks beforehand. Check out promotional deals online and by calling. We got buy one get one free which was awesome $ 7 per person. Great place to check out if you’re in Montréal a little while.

Nice intimate comedy club. Had three comedians on for a Thursday night, for about 90 – 100 minutes of comedy.
Drinks were reasonably priced. Free popcorn with only ticket ordering.
We had a good time and recommend.

Great place for stand-​up comedy and easily accessible by the Metro. Small intimate setting.
Washrooms are awkwardly located on a different floor.
Menu leaves more to be desired though. Go across the street for some Rockaberry pie or Starbucks.

The Comedy Nest is a comedian owned club that hosts some pretty awesome shows. The first show I ever saw here was Eddie Pepitone and my most recent experience was a night of comedy and magic the headliner being Romaine and finished up by Jonathan Burns. It was a pretty amazing show, with David Acker hosting.
Seating at the Nest can be tricky, and though we had very good seats, it is inevitable that there is going to be some big head in front of me. My advice, get there early to assure you get seats closer to the front of the house, but not right in front unless you are willing to be the subject of many jokes, don’t worry, it’s not personal.
There are a few snacking items to choose from if you are famished, I can’t speak to how they are. There’s no substantial food here, and I don’t think you can bring any into the club, so eat beforehand.
Drinks are fairly expensive, $ 8 for a pint of Sleeman’s and $ 5 for a soda. Order at least one drink, ideally two and tip your kind waitress. The Comedy Nest brings some top performers into Montréal and they deserve our support.
And the bathrooms. It didn’t matter that there are none inside the venue itself. It is just like there is no bathroom inside the movie theatre, just walk outside the performance area, on the same floor, and it’s not far off. Geez, some people are real nits.

Cheap stand up comedy shows. Good people. Sometimes they have repeats but overall good shows. They offer drinks and some snacks.

Décor, setting and lighting needs some «enhancements» but great place to get some serious yuks.

Après une panne d’électricité au cinéma AMC, causant un «line-​up» beaucoup trop long pour ma patience, nous avons décidé d’aller en haut au Comedy Nest (étant déja amoureux de l’humour anglais et stand-​up style Américain­).
À première vue, l’endroit est très fidèle aux salles Américaines. Petit cabaret, lumière d’ambiance calme. Le «host» nous a accueillie de façon tellement «friendly» que même si on aurait voulu partir, on se serait sentie mal tellement qu’il nous a bien escorté à la table. Le seul unique hic est dans le prix pour les consommations. Autant la nourriture que la bière, il n’y a pas un grand choix de nourriture et c’est très près des prix du cinéma, étant situé dans le AMC, c’est compréhensible. La peinte est 8 $ pour une Keith, ce n’est pas si pire mais tous de même moi petit étudiant fauché, je me suis limité à une seule. Aussi, il y a un spécial sur le siteweb, 2 pour 1 pour le mois de février. Si vous êtes étudiant, l’admission pour les Jeudis et Vendredis est moins cher.
Le host est très drôle, charismatique et est un bon enchaînement entre les humoristes. Certains sont vraiment drôle, d’autres sont un peu moins. Tout de même, c’est la beauté de la chose. Il y avait à peu prêt 5 humoristes. Quatre avaient entre 5 et 10 minutes et il y a un headline de 1h. Alors, ça dure à peu près 2 heures.
Bref, j’ai bien aimé ma soirée et beaucoup rit.

Great venue and lots of cool comedy, we went there on a night where the weather and the traffic were horrible because of a hockey game. We were very few in the audience, but instead of making that an really awkward, situation as one might expect, we were treated to individual one on one time with the various comedians. They were all real pros and we were also very well taken care of by the friendly staff. I recommend trying something a little different catching a show with friends, it is fun.

It was my first time at the Comedy Nest yesterday, and I enjoyed my experience. As a French Montrealer, I never think about going to a cabaret style Anglophone stand-​up comedy.
I had a great night in this cozy venue: beer/​liquor on site, food available, and great comedians. As the other Unilocaler said, there is no washroom inside the Comedy Nest, but it’s on the same floor really not far away, so it’s really not a big deal!

Alright. Truthfully, I’m being a little harsh because I know my way around some comedy. I had a semi-​pleasant time here, but a few simple, otherwise easy to fix things about this place just killed my buzz. For one thing, I was told by the staff that there are no bathrooms. To go to the bathroom you need to leave and go to some bar in the Pepsi Forum building. How the hell does a comedy club not have their own bathroom?
Another thing — American talent. Am I supposed to be impressed that two unknown American comedians came here to tell me American jokes filled with American content? I’d have appreciated some Canadian comedians who would have known what jokes the audience would and wouldn’t «get.» For example, a ton of America-​centric jokes about Denny’s restaurants, American politics, and black people were made that nobody understood because of cultural differences (I only understood due to my having lived in the US). They were often met with puzzled looks by the audience. Also, a «joke» was made about how Canada should start a war with Quebec and Montréal and kill everybody (there was no other punch line), which was greeted with an intense and uncomfortable silence. How did he think that one was going to go over with a room full of Montrealers? Great? Anyway, I know the comedians’ material isn’t necessarily up to the Comedy Nest, but I would have appreciated them a) doing a little research on the comedians they chose before hiring them and b) hiring some local/​Canadian talent. The Just for Laughs festival isn’t in Montréal for nothing.
The only positive aspect of the Comedy Nest that I can tout at this point is that they do participate in fundraisers for important causes, which I must acknowledge is pretty cool of them.
However, until I see evidence to the contrary, for now I will assume this is another one of those mediocre comedy clubs that only cares about getting asses in seats and not enough about getting people to laugh. Rung one on the comedy ladder. I doubt anyone who went to the show I went to will ever come back. And I doubt I will either.
