Love the food, the convenience that’s for sure so why not stop by the market and pick up a caffe brew with a nice crème brûlée to accompany it. That’s the wonder of Au Pain Dore and this fine French bakery of good pain. So next time you stop by Marche du Jean Talon, just stop by and enjoy the bread.

Tasty patries and great bread — -particularly one that was an olive like loaf. Get cured sausage from next store and eat it with the bread hear.

again if we didn’t stop on our last day at gods boulangerie and patisserie, au pain dore would’ve gotten five huge stars. their croissants were just like the way we remembered them in France, as well as their pain au chocolat. they were buttery, right texture, super flaky and smelled and looked amazing. it was so amazing we came back in after breakfast to get more croissants and the best pear tart outside of France for the race. the tart wasn’t too sweet or tart, and the tarts pastry base was absolutely something else, just like their croissants. again,… if we had one local we would be constant regulars, but our 5 stars is reserved for a tiny place in mt. royal.

i find this location to be lacking in term of freshly baked goods compare to its sisters. boutique is really tiny. come summer time, they have a terrace where you can enjoy a coffee and some goods. on the other hand, they do carry lots of frozen goods as well as having a couple of enticing discounts. and of course, being in a public market, they have access to the freshest of ingredients almost all year long. you expect things to be good and they indeed are. i prefer the peel location for its varieties

Bakery café located beside the Jean Talon Market where you can enjoy an excellent butter croissant $ 1.60 while lounging outside on the patio and people watching. Mocha $ 4.25 was luke warm so skip that one. But otherwise, decent pastries on a lovely spring day in a charming open market.

Another great stop for when you are eating your way through the market! Because honestly, what else are you doing in the market? Au Pain Doré is the other Quebec bakery chain(other to Première Moisson which has it’s giant fancy face just across the walkway.) Try croissants from both to compare! I love the cannelé you can sometimes find here, and the mini maple croissants, and the cheddar and rosemary focaccia.

Amazing croissant and bread! However, what I love most about this place is… this jar of salted caramel maple sauce that I bought at this place for $ 10CAD. It’s this combination of sweet and salted, thick gooey sauce. goes great with bread, ice-cream, etc. Or just simple grab a spoon and start eating it as if it’s nutella from a jar(but even better)! Anyway, I also appreciated the friendly staff. After my only French phrase, «Bonjour», I resorted to English and they were just as friendly and helpful. In fact, the staff gave me a spoonful of that caramel maple sauce to try… and I instantly fell in love. Just writing this review is making me hungry and craving to go eat some now… and perhaps, I should. So, au revoir, mes amis!

Croissants are outstanding — we’ve been back every day for nearly a week because they are so good, and we are staying in the area. The croissants are light, but substantive, not greasy and perfectly flaky. Really great. They also have a good deal that you get any kind of coffee for $ 2 with the purchase of a croissant. Had a blueberry Danish which was not only beautiful to look at but really delicious — not overly sweet, lots of wild blueberries and a hint of creamy cheese. Also had their almond croissant which was delightful. The only downside of this place is that everything looks, smells, and tastes so good that it’s really hard to decide what to get!

I know I am bias… I walk into Au Pain Dore and I know I love it even before laid my eyes on their pastries and baked goods. That smell… that devilish buttery smell… that fresh from oven smell… Then the staff smiles at me saying«Bonjour! What can I do for you…» It starts with just a croissant … anything else… coconut marcoons. that’s it… Apple turnovers looks good… Let’s have some Artisan bread to go with the pâté and the goat cheese and the cured meat from Marche Jean-Talon. That’s it! Are you sure? The staff just keep smiling… Silly tourist…
