We miss Starbucks at Westdale Mall and desperately needs Tim Hortons. Management must think about it.

I have been going to Westdale Mall for 14 years now, and I must say that I am appalled at the services of this establishment. For one thing, the individuals are extremely rude. I went to Starbucks today during Happy Hour, and the workers were taking FOREVER to make drinks, and there were literally 6 customers in front of me. While they were taking a long time, they also did not know what they were doing. When 5 hit, and I have been waiting there for 40 minutes, they tell us Happy Hour is over and everything will be regular priced. First of all, how ignorant are you THREE women(speaking as a woman herself) that you do not notice us waiting there for so long, with NO drink. Second, you should at least let the people who came in before 5 have the 50% off frapps. Because of this, I AMNEVERGOINGTOTHATSTARBUCKSAGAIN. The workers were also dumb. IFYOUWEREWORKINGONFRIDAYMAY9th, 2014FROM4:00 — 5:00 pm, please note that you all do not deserve to work at such a well known business and that as a customer who came in regularly, I refuse to come over again, and will tell everyone I know NEVER to come to your franchise AGAIN.

Headline: Not really a shopping centre, more of a community centre in need of massive update. There’s a Target, Freshco, Beer store, Dollarama, a small RONA outside, and a bunch of small kiosks inside. Not much else. Nothing to really eat with exception of a bar and a greasy spoon, and a fried chicken place. Verdict: If you pass by, it’s convenient, but otherwise not worth any special trip(not even 10 minutes, when you can go to Erin Mills, Square One or even South Common Mall).

Westdale Mall is a curiosity. Located on Dundas past Mavis, Westdale feels like a child caught between two extremes — Square One and South Common. It truly feels like a relic from the 90’s. Walk inside and one of the first things you see is one of those old-timey restaurants that still uses laminated strips of paper to display menu options. There’s a few odds and ends(a Dollarama and FreshCo), and a few scattered mom-and-pop stores, but nothing that will really jump out at you unless you’re either reliving a nostalgia or stopping by on the way somewhere else. Not helping matters is that the stores and businesses outside the mall have the exact same problem — there’s an Ian Anderson restaurant across the street that looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 80’s(seriously, the last time I ate there was in the early 00’s) and a Beer Store in the parking lot. I confess, the last time I was here, it was to get my passport redone at the ServiceOntario office. I’m not sure what reason you would have to visit here, unless you just needed something urgent as you drive by or for curiosity’s sake.

Don’t let the title fool you, this is no shopping centre/mall! This is more like a neighbourhood strip mall that I’ll go to out of convenience ’cause it’s nearby. There’s a FreshCo, TD Bank, BMO(both will tellers), Dollarama, ServiceOntario(driver’s license, health card), & they’re opening up a Target… not that I’d go there for that. Plus there’s a bunch of ma ‘n pa shops sandwiching those«anchor» store. Sharing the same parking lot, there’s the tiniest Rona ever and a Beer Store. That’s ’bout it! They desperately need some sort of coffee shop — hopefully there’ll be a Starbucks inside Target — or good eatery here, even if it’s a chain place. Other than that, not much goes on in this 1 floor plaza.
