OCEANS — the name makes me think that it’s purely for seafood, but NOPE. This is your local Chinese grocery store! Parking here was more packed than I expected — gives me pretty high expectations of this supermarket. A huge Chinese supermarket, with plenty of fresh food. Their«areas»(e.g. fruits and vegetables, fish, meat) are nicely decorated and fairly clean. I feel like there’s not too many Chinese supermarkets in Mississauga and that’s why Oceans sticks out very much. One thing that I do need to comment on is the cooked food section! It’s fairly big with super long lineups(or at least when I came it was really long).

I personally like the Brampton location better but this one is okay as well. On Fridays and Saturdays its insane! I usually go on a sunday and the lineup wait is okay– You definitely still wait but it’s not as bad as on a Saturday. The quality of the food is fine– the meats usually have around a week to 2 expiry date. Definitely should measure the quality of chicken especially before buying it– but if it’s good then you got yourself a great deal! Love the variety of stuff available here too. The MAIN issue this corporation faces is that their employees speak little to NO English. Getting help to find something here is almost impossible…

I try not to go to Oceans very often as I end up spending way too much money there. I could easily do 85% of my grocery shopping there and be very happy and well fed. What I would suggest, don’t buy your standard grocery store dry goods there as they are terribly overpriced. Things like pasta, canned beans and cereal. Just go somewhere else. Oceans is an Asian grocery store, stick with the perimeter of the store and the noodle and sauce aisles and you have everything you need. Everytime we go, I always pick up sushi, dim sum, coconut and pork buns. Meat can be picked up for a great price as well, so have space in your freezer!

#OCEANS #ASIANGROCERY # UnilocalGTA To all you Unilocalers complaining about cleanliness, I don’t get you. Oceans is way cleaner than your regular Asian Market — be it BTrust, Yuan Ming, T&T or Grant. It’s also higher in price, but I’d still pick it over any of the above in most scenarios so that I don’t have to smell fish(unless I am in the fish section) or walk in crud OR deal with rude people. It’s also much larger than any of the above, and I enjoy the size of the store. Everything is spaced out and not so cramped up — haveyoubeentoGrant? Some good buys? — $ 2.99 for salmon maki rolls on end of day sales. — 6 bags of dumplings/dimsum for $ 10 woo hoo! — .70c coconut water — FEEEEEEEEESH(fish) Ankie Tip: The produce is often pricy and not so good here.

Prices are very competitive. It’s not the cleanest of places but that’s a compromise in terms of what you get as savings. Try avoiding the 4 – 7 pm rush as it can get quite busy. the 15 or so cashes will be packed. I’m comfortable buying most things in here besides the meat. They have a huge seafood area for anyone willing to roll the dice and try the fish. A lot of is said to be Pacific so coming from suppliers in Vancouver, BC.

This place is always crowded and dirty! Meat and seafood smells so bad i literally gagged when i turned around to see what smelled so awful. It was a bucket of pigs nose and feet in blood. Lines are extremely long and no one speaks English! The only good things are the sushi and hot table.

Good, Cheap and Yummy quick Sushi! They got some decent hot food service too. Lines can be lengthy for checkout and be cautious cos ive had to give my DEATHSTARE to people who stick close to ur ass on the checkout line!

If I have a craving for sushi or something from the hot table, I’ll venture in. Otherwise I stay away at all cost. The store is poorly organized. The produce is mediocre at best and It takes me too long to find anything in the aisles. The store is always too crowded, cashing out can be a 20 min wait, and the parking lot is a zoo. Not worth the stress.

Sorry downgrade because: a) As they have gotten older, they’ve gotten darker and less clean. b) The meat and fish section smell very badly. However, they have some cheap produce and other specials that you can look for in flyers and some decent hot food(though full of sodium and sugar, quite tasty) for good prices. Just your normal average Chinese grocery store.

What the hey this place is well above OK. Reminds me a lot of TNT and like 6 times the size of Grant’s. There are some wicked deals to be had here and if the selection is something you need as far as Asian markets this place should have it. It’s like a higher end type of Asian mart, clean… lots of selection and I’m yet to try the hot food for take out. Sushi is really affordable here. A large mixed platter of rolls is only like 15 bucks. When Connie makes drunken noodles we need to get all the different soy sauces that can be found here. Parking in this mall in general is hard to find as it’s a really busy mall.

I only come here for the hot table combos which IMO are a great deal and are fairly good in quality and quantity. Also a great selection of Latin American food products at reasonable prices
