I went here for their chunne bhature. I liked them. Their mango lassi was really good. Everything else was blah: dry old tandoori chicken… stale salad. Ambiance is very dated and then y have this nice elderly uncle ji serving you. Poor guy. We tipped him fairly.

I would never go here again. The service was friendly, but the food didn’t taste that good. We had tons of leftovers but no one wanted to touch it.

Another Indian restaurant by the Airport. Mughal Mahal is a «fine» dining Indian restaurant and bakery at far end of the shopping plaza by Airport and Derry Rd. The place is in the same shopping plaza as China Garden(very popular Indian Hakka place). The restaurant itself is a bakery that extends into a decent sized dining area. The menu is strictly Indian with prices that are higher than others in the surrounding area. They do however have individual lunch platters for only $ 6.99. I had to order one of those. The platters come with one veg dish of your choosing and one meat dish of your choosing. They will surround those two items with naan, veg of the day, raita, rice, and dessert. I also had to order samosas to try them out, but they were a tad pricey at over $ 4 for only 2 samosas. But in regards to those samosas, they were huge! The samosas were filled with actual chunks of chicken and onion slices. They were deep fried to a golden crisp with some chutneys to go along with them. They were probably the highlight of the meal though. The lunch platter came out and looked very appetizing. I ordered the chicken masala while my friends opted with the butter chicken. The chicken masala was good. It was kind of oily which I didn’t like too much, but I did enjoy the flavor. The naan bread was very good as it came piping hot, but the rest of the platter was just decent. Raita is always a tad sour so I never order nor enjoy it much. The rice was good as was the mixed vegetables. As for my work buddies, they hated their butter chicken. I did get a taste of the sauce, and I found it tasted funny too(very tomato-y). Their meal wasn’t nearly as good as mine it seemed. The place wasn’t bad overall, but the portion sizes were a bit small, while the prices were a bit high for the food. The meal itself wasn’t bad and I thought the service, though slow, was friendly. I would come back but there are so many better places that are cheaper in the surrounding area.
