What a waste of time & money! We say on the patio & eventually asked one of the waitresses(after sitting there for about 30 minutes) if she might find a waitress for us. Off she went &15 minutes later our drink order was taken. We virtually demanded that she take our food order at the same time as we had already been sitting there 45 min and didn’t want to chance having her leave without the order. Food came 30 – 40 min later and was average at best. There will not be a return trip to see if they get their act together!

We’ve dined here many times, and generally been happy. When we were told that fresh halibut was available, I requested the halibut taco, while my wife had the fish and chips. The amount of fish in my taco was minuscule, at one taco for $ 10. The flavour was fine. My wife liked her meal, and her deep-fried halibut was a decent size.

The patio atmosphere and drinks are great. I don’t find the food amazing and felt my fries were overly salty. It’s still one of the best places in Maple Ridge to enjoy a patio and beer in the summer. There are sometimes waits to be seated outside in the summer.

Amazing food, amazing service. The prices are pretty good too. Love the oysters! I hear the view is pretty great too, I’ll have to go one day in the daylight. The last time we went to Kingfishers in Nov, the server we had was amazing. 3 of us for dinner and we each ordered 3 different meals and shared. Lamb, ribs and duck.

The view is great and the bacon cheddar burger too. Fries were nice n crisp. Chicken quesadilla was a little bit bland but once I added a bit of hot sauce it was perfect.

Best patio ever! The breakfast menu is really good and they are open earlier than 11 like 10 o’clock, so when you’re hungry you can actually go and eat. I like that they carry local ingredients like Hopcott Farms meat. I do like the fact that they support local businesses. They also have music with really good bands playing. You know, proper music, rock and roll. Every time the Wife and I have been there the service has been excellent.

always a go to spot — however not for the food. The outdoor patio has a beautiful view of the river and the staff is typically great. The special drinks on the menu are amazing(Bellini Bomb!) however the food kind of always sucks. There is no consistency in meals with kitchen staff, what you order one day may not taste the same the next BUT the Kanaka Creek salad is always awesome. Nice place to socialize with friends. Dress code for staff could be more consistent across the board, have had my fair share of servers with their bums hanging out their bottoms. I’m sure the fellas like that however, tips!

Awesome. So thrilled to find a beautiful patio in maple ridge. Perfect river view to relax & enjoy. Service was quick & friendly. Great menu choices. I had the rose and kanaka creek salad with seafood which was excellent for a pub. Husband had Caesar salad which was bland and burger which was a nice handmade patty. Only issues were that they wanted us to sit at picnic table below which was hot and little view & mains came 2 minutes after appetizers. Décor is beautiful… so surprising for a pub in an industrial area. Overall excellent and will be back. Again & again.

I live nearby but have only been here once, a few years ago, and was underwhelmed that time by the calamari. Today was another story. I stopped in for an early dinner on a very sunny Thursday afternoon, after a very tough day at work, and I asked for a table with a view but not for a table on the patio(which looked lovely but I wasn’t in the mood). As a middle-aged female, I’m used to being treated like something between a waste of time and a waste of space, but here I was treated like the princess I am. They gave me a lovely table and served me promptly and with grace. I ordered an appy(oyster tempura… yum!) and a small Caesar salad(best croutons EVER!) and a wonderful glass of Hester Creek Cab-Merlot. It was exactly the healing experience I needed, and I’m deeply grateful for their thoughtfulness. As I left, a kind young man came running after me to give me the sweater I forgot(did I mention I’m a middle-aged woman?)…I’ll be back.

Thank you ruining our families plans to celebrate New Years Eve Across the Pond with you. We called to make reservations and we were told it was not necessary. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation… still waiting an hour later. Celebration is going on in the other room… missing the freebies… no comment from management who seems oblivious to the 9 people in our party. They continue to let people into the bar to wait for a table… who then slide in ahead of us as smaller tables open up. This is a terrible way to treat customers especially first timers from out of town. It is now 3 hours later. After almost two hours management twigged to our presence and sent over soft drinks and a bite. Eventually seated after the celebration of the New Year Across the Pond. Good pub food followed and good service.

The service was alright. We came in for appetizers only and the waitress was really nice about it. We were a big group after all. But as good as yore service was, the food was kind of lacking. The calamari was rather bland and soggy, and it was a small portion. The pulled pork was way too salty.

Love coming here for dinner with the boyfriend or a group of his friends. Since they all live in Maple Ridge this is a regular place for them but for me its always a treat. I always go for the chicken fajitas… they are my fave! I love coming here for fajitas becuase its one of few places that gives you more meat than veggies! Always made perfectly with homemade salsa its a must have item. Service has always been fantastic. We have has to wait for close to an hour before but that was our fault. We were a group of 6 coming on a Friday night and we didn’t call ahead first. But once a table opened up we were seated right away. Always a pleasure to come here and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Here for lunch on a sunny Thursday bike ride. Great service with a smile. Had the salmon crab burger, and according to their website they«handcraft» all their food so I assume the patty was made in house. As the taste of fish wasn’t too significant I’d say it was made in house but fresh frozen because the texture was still very fluffy and juicy. Freezing foods tends to degrade the taste a tad. The patty also wasn’t significantly salty which is a hint it’s not«factory» packed. Not much taste of crab but hey it’s no fine dinning. The bun and veges toppings were all fresh, served with a portion of salad that very lightly sauced. All in all a very well made burger for a pub. Burgers were priced around $ 12 – 13, other dishes like pasta were around 20. Since everything is made in house I’d say the pricing is right on. Everyone else in my group seemed happy with their food as well.

Great service, delish food, fun atmosphere and has a waterfront patio! We popped in for brunch on a Saturday around noon. It wasn’t busy yet and we were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered drinks, i had a very tasty Caesar and look over the menu, I knew before I got there what I was craving, Eggs Benny, and to my delight they had it on the menu. The biscuits were homemade and my eggs were pouched hard how I requested. My husband ordered the burger, the patty seemed to be fresh and handmade as well. He said it was excellent. The food and drinks were a bit pricer than other pubs but I was content paying the extra because I liked everything about my experience there. The server was delightful and bubbly. Though it wasn’t a busy time of day, the hockey game was on and the atmosphere was fun. As we were getting ready to leave the place was starting to fill up, and I notice even families with children being seated. Though I wouldn’t take my kids to a pub for lunch, its a good option to offer. I would definitely go here again.

Seeing a beer taster get passed to another customer, I had to get one too. I always find them the best deal. You get to try 3 – 4 different beers for the price on one. Shame, that the version at «Kingfisher» only used 3 of the 4 cut out slots on the beer paddle. They called this their Weekend summer beer flight. You got three tasters for $ 9. Your selection included the«Hoyner pilsner», the«new grist gluten free» beer, and the«hay fever saison». All light, one tangy, and you could tell which one was gluten free. The menu was thorough with a fairly large selection from pastas to burgers. But nothing really jumped out as a must try. Also you don’t want to pay $ 20 plus for a dish you potentially won’t like, at a place where you don’t know how good the cooking is. We instead decided to share three safer appetizers. I think the best way to judge a bar is by how well they do the usual classics. Bar fare that is available at all other bars. In this we felt that«Kingfisher» had its hits and a few misses. The later it got, the busier it got, and we lost service from all the staff. It was considered a Monday night at any bar in Vancouver, but here everyone was scurrying and staff kept their eyes down, lest they be hailed for help. An over crowded bar and forgotten requests warranted a small tip. At the end we gave up on packing our leftovers to go, and left un-noticed. This was after we made attempts to hail one of the two bartenders. After 15 minutes we got up to leave. It was only then did they turn to our direction, though only to check that the bill was paid in full. Not even a «goodbye» or «thank you». They just wanted the seats for two locals waiting with the herd of others at the restaurant foyer. Would I come back? — No. Would I recommend it? — No. The distance to travel is considered more than out of the way. The river was beautiful, but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. And with a wait time of an hour plus it was not worth the time spent. You could leave your name and come back, but there is nothing around to see, and you would only loose a hard sought out parking spot. The food was only alright with both strong and weak points in each dish. Definitely nothing different or better than if we had ordered this else where. The staff were unfocused and seemed to buckle under pressure. So a trip out here for this is not worth your effort. But this was definitely the bees knees in the boonies.

Yay… probably the best place to go in Maple Ridge. View of the water, outdoor area for the good weather, live music(mostly on weekends I think) and nice seating. Food is good and lots to choose from. Check it out… you will be glad you did!
