First time in. Had a caesar salad and chicken pesto panini. Plus chocolate pudding and a lemon mousse dessert. Excellent food-good service-fair prices. Will be back again! Thanks!

Fabulous food and excellent service! My sisters and I had an amazing time. We can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff and many choices for eggs Benny! The view is phenomenal, who knew there would be a Christmas tree made of lobster traps for us to look at? I would highly recommend the Florentine and smokehouse options as well as the special of the day Benny on fish cakes.

Great food. Good service. Fair price. It lives up to its niche– a great café. I had the poached eggs with local ham over whole grain bread. Every little bit of it was great. The latté was done right. The service: well done. Pleasant and prompt. And the price was fair. I give five stars when an establishment gives what they say in the menu and their mission. This one is a winner.

We picked this place based on previous reviews — glad we did! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. It had an amazing view of the harbour and didn’t feel touristy in any way, even though I imagine it’s quite a popular spot. The only thing was that it was a bit busy when we went, so the service lacked a little. We ordered a few things(appetizer and later a drink) that were never brought, and didn’t see the waitress but maybe twice. But based on other reviews, it doesn’t seem like that happens too much. Got the maritime eggs benedict and it was SOGOOD.

In Lunenburg for 1 week and went here twice because the service was so nice and the food simpe, but delicious. This restaurant also sports one of the nicer views of the harbor. Went here for lunch both days and had the beet salad. Rhubarb crumble was probably the best I ever had.

My wife and I have just finished a fantastic meal at the Savvy Sailor. I started with the Haddock Chowder, which was probably the best I have ever tasted and finished with the scallops. Absolutely delicious! My wife had a curry stir-fry with scallops and a salad which she also found to be outstanding. My wife has Celiac and requires a strict gluten-free menu. This was not a problem at all, and there was even a selection of gluten-free desserts. The restaurant is friendly and inviting with a marvelous view of the harbor. The service is top notch and friendly. We couldn’t be more pleased with our dinner choice. It’s a shame this restaurant isn’t located in Toronto or we’d be regulars.

Fabulous spot for Sunday brunch, overlooking the Lunenburg Harbour, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I had an exquisite muesli topped with… wait for it… baked rhubard. It was to die for! My hubby had a fish sandwich instead of breakfast fare and said it was really good. People at the table next to us had amazing looking French toast with fresh fruit on top. The location is right across from the historic harbor and we watched a tall ship sail away from Savvy Sailor’s porch. It was a magical Sunday morning for us and that tastes and aromas are now very happy memories. Do Not Miss This Place!

The best breakfast in town! Dinner was great as well! My dinner guests were slightly overshadowed by the amazing view though. I was overlooking the Bluenose II the entire time!

We decided to come here after seeing the great reviews and we were not disappointed. They definitely take their time caring about your food, it was amazing and totally delicious! I got the Thai Vegan option noodle dish and my boyfriend got the special of the day, pan fried haddock with cabbage salad and rice. The sundried tomato on top of the haddock was to die for! My rice noodle dish was amazing and had so much flavour. The service was outstanding, the ladies were British snd Aussie and were very personable and so caring. The view on the deck was beautiful. 5 star, definetly don’t go by this place!

Just happened to pass by this place when in Lunenberg, NS. Food was quite excellent. I had the pan seared haddock with the Asian peanut salad. Both were excellent. My friend got the scallop po boi sandwich with coleslaw. Scallops were huge and tasty. Patio overlooks the water. There are some power lines blocking a picturesque shot but still worth sitting out there to take the scenery in!

Had an amazing lunch here. Everything about our experience was great. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the accompanying beat salad was delicate and wonderfully seasoned. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

We will definitely be back. This place was amazing. I had the scollop club and the scollops were perfectly seared, the bread was soft and delicious. The photo says it all. Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

Had breakfast here 2 days in a row. My latte was delicious and the food was perfectly prepared. I tried traditional eggs benedict yesterday and french toast today. Service was excellent ~ Everyone is so nice in Nova Scotia!

We originally wanted to go to Fish Shack down the street, but was recommend to this place from a local. We were very impressed. The view from the patio was gorgeous. The seafood chowder was pretty average. The seafood platter was delicious. The mussels are a must, we had a lot of fun deshelling them. The cod cakes were not that good, very potato heavy, could not taste the cod. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here and the food was fresh and wonderful. Must try the local beer!

I was hoping it would be better, but sadly the lobster was tough and tasteless, and the curry was bland as well, overwhelmed with carrots. Service was so so, but the view was great!

I will give 5 star for this place. The food is very good, service is nice(Tracy, she have a good takin care of us), place is cozy but comfortable with the nice view of the sea. We order the maritime Benny(16 $) which come with a lot of lobster meat and fresh. Really love this place. Adam d knuckle scallop(16) is great too. They have this fisher company just next to the building. You will find 10 pieces of scallop in your plate come with yummy salad. Don’t forget to order mussel in white wine and garlic. One of the signature here(12 $) Will come back again for sure!

What can I say but PERFECTION. We love this place so much. We have had nothing but amazing meals and service here. Its our favorite place on the south shore. The staff are so friendly, the view is terriffic no matter the season, the food is outstanding(especially anything with bacon!) and the espresso is perfect. Now that we’ve moved to Alberta our Sunday’s just arent the same. If you are on the south shore, make a point to stop in. You wont regret it.

My gf and I were traveling through Nova Scotia and stopped by Lunenburg for a detour. Though it was the end of the year, the place was open for lunch! We were greeted by an absolutely charming waitress who promptly seated us and explained the day’s specials and menu for us. We ordered the chicken caesar wrap and haddock chowder with 2 beers, and the food came out in about 10 minutes. The view of the harbor was fantastic from the restaurant and we enjoyed the food. The chicken caesar wrap was mediocre(as expected) but the haddock chowder was spot on. Warm, delicious and thick, just the antidote for a cold Canadian day! Great spot for a casual lunch with awesome wait staff in Lunenburg!

This was our first lunch while touring from Halifax around the Nova Scotia coast, clockwise. We wanted to spend a little time in Lunenberg with its scenic harbor and waterfront. We just happened to stop into The Savvy Sailor and had a great lunch. Ms T had the Fish Burger which was pan seared haddock with arugula, tomato and some sauce. The sesame bun was sized perfectly. This was excellent. The fish was obviously fresh and being pan seared, did not have a heavy breading. It was mildly flavorful and melted in your mouth. We can recommend this anytime it is on their menu. I choose Haddock Chowder which was one of best I had on the trip. It was creamy and light, but not thickened which is very nice. The flavors were excellent and salt was proper. It had carrots and onions and was served with good herbed bread. This was a great lunch, with a view of the water, washed down by a couple of Propeller Beers. Savvy Sailor is a nice little place with good homemade food. Note that they serve breakfast too.
