Great food but the smells of yummy Mexican food was overpowered by the scent of human waste coming from a unisex washroom which is in the worst spot possible; right in the middle of everything, not off of a secluded section of the building. The smell of both types of human waste strong and I could not stand to be in there long enough to get used to it. They usually seem to have young workers who have always been nice when I’ve been there. I would not recommend their sauce because its too watery and makes your burrito mushy. The guac would do better with more salt and cilantro as well.

I tried this place on a recommendation from coworker. From the beginning, I felt like I needed to know how everything worked and what to say; the workers were not great at walking me through the process(compared to Chipotle, for example, where they ask you each little option as you go through the line). I got a large veggie bowl, which came with guacamole included, with rice, «smashed» beans(we call the refried beans in the US), lettuce, black beans, the mole sauce, burrito sauce, and medium salsa. The rice and veggies were great, but there was too much sauce and the whole thing turned to mush. My major complaints are that the lettuce was chopped and bruised and the guac was flavorless– it needed salt, cilantro, and lime juice badly. I’ll probably go back, but I’ll be more cautious about what I add on, and how much sauce.

Their food is good and it’s a cool concept. My rating would be higher but my experience was a little tainted because I had a bit of a(n allergic?) reaction to something

Every time I’ve been into Burrito Jax the customer service and food have always been perfect, the prices are completely reasonable for the portions you’re getting. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Oh yum! I love me some Burrito Jax! This location is great — has a couple seats and a huge parking lot! One of my best friend’s lives in Sackville so we stop in here to grab burrito bowls pretty often(they go great with wine!). This location has great staff and they’re very friendly and helpful. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and they happily explained the differences in sauces/salsas and made suggestions of what would go best with what. A chicken burrito bowl was on the menu that day with guac, pico salsa, sour cream, lots of veggies, and mild burrito sauce. It was DELICIOUS! Chicken was cooked perfectly, the sauces and salsas were fresh and tasty and just the right amount of veggies(but you can always ask for more — which I do!). Great little spot, great people. We’ll definely be back!

Wow — just love this place! I wasn’t sure what to expect but was looking for something quick, happened to be in Sackville, and saw the sign. Even in ordering, most of the ingredients seemed fairly standard, so I wasn’t expecting it to taste above average… but it most certainly did. A couple of quick points: — all of the salsas are made by them — you may think sweet potato in a burrito is weird. It isn’t, it is fantastic — I recommend trying it! — you have the option of burrito sauce or sour cream. I get both. If you are only going to get one, I recommend the burrito sauce. — finally, the hot sauce(which is the option that you are offered last) is really HOT. I like spicy — and with the combination of the hot peppers that were already on there, my lips were burning. So decide on that topping wisely. Overall, I am really impressed. I really love the food here!

Update(Nov 2015 — 2 stars): How things change. Burrito Jax, Lower Sackville used to be their best location. I’ve been to the others and they’re good, but the Sackville location just always did it better(did, not does). I think this will be my last time ordering at Burrito Jax. I’ve let them know about my dissatisfaction over Twitter, and while they said they’d look into it, clearly this how they choose to operate now. Burrito Jax(at least this location) have raised their prices, and lowered the content you get(poor value). I had to stop getting a large burrito bowl, because I could literally fit the contents into the small bowl, without it being near full. I started getting a small bowl, but even then. When I say black beans, I expect more than 4(when I asked for more, I got a weird look and he put 4 more in). I will say that the day staff still provide you decent value for what you’re spending. Just don’t go a night. Personally, I won’t be going at all anymore. Original(July 2014 — 5 Stars): I’ve created a Unilocal account solely to rate the Lower Sackville location of Burrito Jax. This has to be hands down one of the best local restaurants that Sackville has to offer. the food is fresh, local and delicious! their selection is outstanding. I first heard the name ‘Burrito Jax’ a year ago when they opened in Sackville and thought«How can you sell burrito’s and stay in business?» Easy. You sell Burrito’s, Quesadilla’s, and the less heard of Burrito bowl, all with a wide selection of ingredients! The staff are amazing. There is no other way to put it. They’re friendly, easy to talk to, happy to joke around with and seem happy to be there. You’ll come for the food, but you’ll leave remembering the food and staff. I’m a big fan of the atmosphere Burrito Jax offers. They’ll usually have music of some sort playing with a TV on w/sub-titles. You can show up in gym clothes or in whatever you wore to work and you’ll feel relaxed and in place. At a ~$ 10 price point you really can’t go wrong. Burrito Jax has become my lazy day food, my showing a friend a new place food and is officially my after a workout food. Nothing completes a workout for me like a Burrito Bowl with Jax chicken and guac! Lots of heard of the Jared diet with Subway, but I’m personally choosing the Jason diet Burrito Jax! TL;DR — Check out the Lower Sackville location of Burrito Jax. You won’t be disappointed and they’ll give you a reason to go back. In a world of corporate chains Burrito Jax puts them to shame :)

Hmmm… burritos… What? I should write more. Fine! Take everything I love about the original Burrito Jax and transplant it to Lower Sackville. In fact, I think I might like this one a bit more because a) it’s less busy; and b) it’s less noisy. I have found that a lot of businesses that start experimenting with expanding have quality control issues; their new sites’ menus can’t match up to the original’s. Not the case here. I had burritos from the original and Lower Sackville location in a 48 hour period and they were both deliciously good! Heck, I essentially ordered the same burrito and it really was the same — it’s not like one site skimped on serving size and the quality was equal. The folks who served me were pleasant and the place was spotless. I’ll definitely be back soon.

I am not sure how I waited so long to Unilocal about this! Jax is the eat bang for your buck. And it’s good for you too! The ingredients are super fresh and the meat is all slow cooked. With many choices for sauces, your burritos is always super tasty. Their cranberry salsa is unique and sweet and delicious. And the house made burrito sauce is a must add to your burrito. Recently thy hve added quesadillas and burrito bowls to their menu. But honestly you do not need to stray from the regular old burrito! A lot of people will say«it’s not authentic» but they don’t try or claim to be. With toppings like sweet potatoes, smashed beans, black beans and rice. Each burrito is hearty and delish! My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the customer area. The kitchen area is clean but on the other side of the counter it could use some maintaining. This is definitely a biweekly supper spot for me! Best $ 7 you can spend.

All it takes is somebody I’m with to order something I would never consider to get me hooked — I’m too easy! Burrito bowls, where have you been my entire life? Take a burrito, remove the pita and pile all of it’s toppings on top of a bowl of rice — genius! They are the same price as the burrito, but I feel like you get more bang for your buck — you just have to eat the burrito bowl with a fork instead of your hands… unless you’re in the comfort of your own home, then have at it! Get the burrito sauce — it brings it up a notch from the regular sour cream!

If I was rating just the food it would without a doubt get 5 stars, my burrito was awesome! My «beef» is the service, and it may actually keep me from going back. It wasn’t that busy, and when the girl working asked me for my order, it was like she was angry I was even there. I tried to smile, be pleasant, but it was if my presence had offended her. When it came to choosing my toppings, again just the scowl, and the look of death. It was a brief and bad customer service experience. I would have walked out right then and there, but there was no way I was leaving behind my delicious chicken burrito, with all my favorite toppings. So instead I took my Burrito ate every last bite, and then sat down at my computer to share my unpleasant experience with the rest of you. If I was an employer I would want to know how my employees were doing, as they are the face of your business…

Based on the good reviews on Unilocal and an article in the business section of the newspaper, I decided to try this recently opened location in Lower Sackville. I found it easily in a large plaza across from the Superstore. When I went in the store, I told the lady at the counter that I was new to the place, and she kindly explained everything I needed to know about making my order. She was a nice, friendly, knowledgeable person, and very easy to talk to. And she is also a satisfied customer herself! She told me that she eats lunch here every day, 5 days a week, and added that she hasn’t tired of it yet) All the ingredients are right in front of you where you can see them. All the vegetables look very fresh, colourful and healthy, and the ingredients are covered by a large plastic pane, which keeps everything at the proper temperature and away from outside germs. I liked that. I decided to get a small veggie burrito, and when she showed me the size of the wrap, I was surprised how big it was! Definitely big enough for me. There are tons of choices for fillings, and at the end I had about 15 choices in my burrito, I think. And I really liked the way the veggie burrito comes with free guacamole. Once your burrito is filled, they warm it up on the grill for about 5 minutes to heat up the flavours inside. I dined in, and later a very nice man at the counter asked me how I liked my food. I told him it was excellent! Great restaurant. Very good value, and healthy, tasty food. Friendly, fast service. Exactly what I was hoping for! Learn more at

I already had a slavish addiction to the Blowers Street location, so finding a Jax in Sacktown was like finding a diamond ring in a coiled-up dog turd. The cooking and prep areas are spotlessly clean and it’s big enough to have a sit(or at least not have the breath of other customers on the back of your neck. The burritos themselves are lightly grilled and stuffed to bursting with a nearly endless combination of fillings, heavy enough to make you feel like you got your money’s worth but not so heavy that you’d regret it later. Far better value and meal than what you’d pay for at the nearby drive-thrus.

I’ve heard only good things about Burrito Jax but never experienced it until the Sackville location opened. Now I see what all the fuss is about! I had a small veggie burrito and it was plenty for me. The cranberry salsa is a nice option, adding just a smidgen of sweetness to my heap of veggies, rice and guac. Everything tastes really fresh, it’s quick, and you can call your order in ahead of time for pickup. Super excited about this new option for good eats in our hood!
