Once, I called them for my money back, yes, they refunded me the money, otherwise, probably they forgot.

I have just had my modem installed, I think Electronic Box is great in communication. I get calls from their staff in Montréal for the confirmation, rescheduling, etc. Always pleasant to deal with, I think their staff are helpful and accommodating, at least in my case. Yes modem that was previously used with a different service provider did take some time for it to be released, so that was communicated and expectation was set. All in all I think the process was smooth.

I signed up for Electronic Box last month. Installation was done within 6 business days, the billing is clear and correct, everything is working well. Best of all the price is much, much lower than Rogers, Bell, etc. and the speed is good. Switching from another provider might be more of an issue because the other provider has to cooperate. In my case, I was warned that the Rogers tech who would come do the install would call, and if I missed the call the appointment would be cancelled. A bit of a pain, but not their fault! So my experience has been good. I also pay my bill on time(they just bill my credit card automatically), so no issues there, either. They also have a lot of recent good reviews on dslreports. I figured I’d leave a positive review for anyone considering Electronic Box because I think it is the best option if you’re sick of being ripped off by the majors.

If I could give zero or negative stars for these guys, trust me, I would. As Bertha F. said, dealing with Electronic Box is nothing short of a Kafkaesque nightmare. After doing lots of research, I was under the impression that anywhere that had Vidéotron wiring could get signed up for Electronic Box and save some money. That said, with cheap services generally come less than stellar customer service, so I came in here prepared for a less than smooth experience, what I got instead was quite perhaps the most epic of all corporate clusterf*&ks that I have ever had. I called EB on a Monday to enquire about residential internet for my new condo. After much hemming and hawing, referencing various maps and talking to a manager or even two, my EB rep tells me that no, sorry, they cannot do my install. They said that although my building may well be wired by Vidéotron already, that records had not been updated and unless I was willing to pay an engineer 100 $ for an exploratory look, then I was S.O.L. Fannnntastic. Cue Saturday morning around 9am and I receive a call from my pal at EB. He says something along the lines of ‘Gee, I hope that you haven’t found an internet provider yet, because I’ve been doing some digging and it turns out that YES, we totally can do an install for you as you are now on the Vidéotron list!’ Great, now I am pretty pleased. I spent the 30 minutes on the phone and let my glorious breakfast go cold in order to set up my new account, make the first payment, etc. etc. Tuesday late afternoon though, I get a phone call from some other dude at EB. He says«So, can you tell me where the account stands now?» This is kinda weird, but I tell him all of the above and then he says«Well, I am sorry about the misinformation that so and so gave you, but what he did was in fact very wrong and we simply cannot do your install». Are you freaking kidding me right now? Not only that, but the payment has already shown up on my credit card, but these clowns can’t do a refund that way, so now I must wait 6 – 8 weeks for a cheque to come in the mail from these asshats. The frosting on the cake had to be this EB clown chirping up his his obnoxious sing-songy voice«Despite all of this, I hope that you seriously consider doing business with Electronic Box in the near future, as we’d love to have you as a customer!». Ummm how about a resounding” HELLSNO.

Wow, what a cluster f**k! If you’re planning to switch your cable ISP from Vidéotron to Electronic Box, expect a kafkaesque nightmare. Electronic Box is currently unable to clearly communicate the steps involved in the switchoever. Nearly every day there was a new surprise or an inctruction that conflicted with a prior instruction. Looking back, the swithover was actually rather simple & straigtforward. Why they don’t bother to create an simple step-wise WRITTEN switchover guide for new customers is beyond me. Once installed, their service works as promised. However, if I weren’t such a cheapskate, I would have stayed with Vidéotron. Be aware that hold time for phone support are noticibly longer at Electronic Box box than at Vidéotron.
