Turtle Dunes Campground Sites 432&433 are THEBEST!!! You are camping right ON the beach! It is amazing! On 433, you can lay in your tent and see nothing but sky, sand, and water! :-) The entire park is great, but Turtle Dunes is great for tenting. Sites are a bit smaller(nothing tiny, but smaller than the rest of the park), but in most spots the site is cut into the dune. You cannot see or hear the people right next to you because you have a 12ft sand dune in between you. It is great!!! Beach is very nice, but BECAREFUL! The undertoe can be very dangerous! Also look out for ticks!

This doesn’t feel like Lake Erie at all. As someone from the other side of the lake, that is the biggest compliment I can give. :) The sand is soft and piled high, the water is clear and rolling, and the beach goes out so far. There is a sand bar or something pretty far out in the water you can stand on. I’m not really used to camping on sand, it was nice to step out of the tent onto a beach barefoot. My only caution is the ticks. Don’t run through the brush and probably stay out of the areas where they have identified are heavy tick areas. We didn’t get any bites during our visit, but it made me a little paranoid the whole time.

Long Point Provincial Park is definitely the best beach experience in Long Point. Great facilities, beautiful beach — and an excellent place to camp. Don’t cheap out by parking among the cottages leading up to the Provincial Park. Lots of people do, and it you’re one of them, please respect the cottagers’ privacy and space. The Provincial Park is the best place to go! Local tourism info at

This is it. This is the perfect beach in Ontario! Clean, clear and calm waters. There are sand bars every few metres or so. It’s truly heaven on earth.
