While Victoria gets to shine in the heart of downtown, Harris Park is a hidden gem tucked in beside the Thames River. This park has a ton of green space, a small play park, and a great trail for running/biking. There is also a beach volleyball court. Before the days of IMPark down in Harris, it was easy to park your car and go for a run or play a game of v-ball, but now you have to pay. The trails here can lead you far and wide across the city of London. It is really neat to see how far they can take you. You wont find this park jam packed with festivals every weekend. From Rock the Park, to fireworks during Victoria Day, it is a nice space to be active or hang out to get away from it all. The geese can kind of be an annoyance, especially when they use the walkways as their bathroom but hey, thats nature! I’ve seen some really cute ducklings while walking the trails. Be sure to watch for warnings about high water during the spring time. It can be dangerous. Definitely visit Harris Park, even if you are stopping in at the nearby museum, it would be a great spot for a picnic!
