In Cloverdale visiting family, forgot the wine for Xmas dinner! OK confession time, we «accidentally» drank it all the night before. Thought I was out of luck and was going to have to show up empty handed, help Unilocal!I remembered the«open now» filter option and I press and pray. Riders Liquor Store — open! I often wondered how accurate that«open» info is but needed not fear after reading the single review confirming their 365 day shingle-hanging-commitment to supplying spirits to the Langley /Surrey market, thank-you Edward! Very large, bright, clean, and well laid out shop with a decent selection of beers, spirits, and wines, and although nothing like the wine selection of the larger government stores, there’s enough of a variety to find something for most any occasion, and the pricing isn’t unreasonable! The staff was friendly, super helpful, and quick to point me in the direction of my choice of libation, and, they were wearing pyjamas! I thought that was a nice touch on Xmas day when suddenly two other customers walked through the door in full pyjamas and bathrobes and I suddenly felt overdressed. Don’t wait for a holiday to go check these guys out!

So I got trapped in this neck of the woods and suddenly had an insatiable thirst. Thank goodness this liquor store was around. They’re open 365 days a year. There were many parking spots today, but it was Christmas after all. Lots of pickup trucks. I felt out of place. The inside looks like a converted warehouse. The layout is huge. Nice clean rows, where you can see exactly what you’re looking for. Markup was there, but expected. I paid just over $ 14 for a 6-pack for beer. Not bad when you need your fix. Looks like there is more to Langley than a bunch of forest and Willowbrook Mall.
