AMAZING Place! Brought here by friends and LOVEDIT! The view of City Hall was very nice. Had the corner table, the best seat in the house(Roof Top). The food was great and drinks were fab. Will be back…

I feel like this is a sports fans dream bar. I definitely find it better than the average chain restaurant(Montana’s, BP.) I have attended with a girlfriend on a middle level, my boyfriend on the rooftop and most recently with a group on the main level. Although I do love the rooftop, it is forever crowded and wait listed. The middle level is quieter and more pleasant. The main level with the huge screen was great to catch the game on, had great live talent. As for service, we’ve been treated great from what I recall from all experiences. To this day we’ve ordered the lobster & crab dip, calamari, burgers, steak, chicken parm, spinach dip, and poutine. All super tasty! The lobster & crab dip I’m going back for alone. I got the memphis steak last time & it was cooked to perfection. The potato that came with it was little to be desired. However, their poutine is great! I judge restaurants on their gravy a lot. So Jack’s definitely passed the test & is worth returning based on my experience. I write lengthy reviews, I know! I personally find them the most helpful, so I hope this came in handy & was worth your time.

Coolest Jack’s I’ve ever been to. Huge. Roof top patio is awesome. Same consistent good food and service from the chain…

Jack Astors will never let you down. The food is exactly the same at every location. This location is really nice and does not disappoint, one of the few downtown locations i’m aware of. I’ve only been there in the winter so I cant comment, but I hear the patio is dope. They have Mackinnon Brothers on tap! Its nice to see a large chain supporting local craft brewers. If you are like me and you love craft beer but are tired of the hipsters, then head to Jacks and squeeze up to the bar between some Coors light chugging Leafs fans and order a Mackinnon Crosscut. The bathroom situation here is a little peculiar with single rooms on the main floor and the main washrooms all the way at the back of the second floor.

Four stars because the upstairs patio is way too cramped! We waited 15 minutes for a patio table, got there, and saw that it was way too packed. We opted for the downstairs dining area and we had a wonderful, funny waitress. Our meals were divine. I had the Crispy Sweet Thai Chicken, which was beyond delicious! My husband says that the soup he had as a starter, beer and cheddar, was the best he’s ever had. This is coming from a very picky eater! Overall, a great first experience at Jack Astor’s for myself and my family, minus one little hurdle!

Ordered the Veggie Burger. It was Great. Being vegetarian its often hard to find good. The waitress was energetic and when she wasn’t sure about something she found out for us.

Visited for drinks with friends: Atmosphere: like an American sports bar Staff: friendly and polite Food: pretty good, nothing to savor but good enough Price: a little above average. Why would I come here? Sports on tv, cute staff in black skirts and maybe groups.

Okay… the staff here is real friendly, menus prices are okay. For example a bacon cheeseburger with a small side of fries…$ 13. Middle of the road for price I guess. This restaurant offers many seating options including a balcony terrace, when weather permits. Food is always good but the establishment has a tendency to be a little noisy. That said if you are looking for a nice place to sit and have a conversation with someone significant… this may not be the place. The crowd is mixed but since Kingston is a university city… the crowd is a little younger. All said, another typical sports bar, just a little larger than most. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed. If you go to the website to read reviews… they are biased. They have a tendency to give out gifts for outstanding reviews conducted while seated in the reassurance. Great marketing strategy… is one way to look at it. Cheers
