Last night I saw my first production at the Sagebrush Theatre(Les Miserables performed by the Sagebrush regular Western Canada Theatre Company). Overall I was very impressed by the venue. While small, the lobby is warm, clean, and inviting. It’s a nice place to mingle before a show and during intermission. Coat check is available, as well as a small bar with a decent variety of drinks and snacks. As for the theatre itself, I was surprised at the number of people it could hold(just over 700). Because of the steeply tiered seats, there doesn’t appear to be a «bad» place to sit. My only real criticism is that the seats are somewhat cramped. I’m fairly short and I was uncomfortable so I can’t imagine how bad it would be for someone taller.

Very nice theatre to watch some great local entertainment in. Many of the shows of Western Canada Theatre are staged there, so it HAS to be good. Little tricky to find at first, however the positives outweigh the negatives. Plus, there’s a Dairy Queen just down the street which makes an for excellent post-show treat.
