Arrived early from out of town (Toronto) and had some time to kill before an appointment at the near by hospital. Unilocaled restaurants near by and got Papa Leo’s. VERY HAPPY with the result. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The seating area was very home-​like– feel. Cozy and warm. The food was delicious! I got he «Morning Hash» with sausage. Large portion so I took some for the road: P (ate it on my way home). My mom got the daily special, French onion soup and later the French toast with berries. She loved her meal as well :) ! All and all you will NOT regret walking into Papa Leo’s

Hidden on Concession in Hamilton. Probably one of the better brunch places to go! I had the Movemburger Morning Thai burger. EAT HERE!

Tried Papa Leo’s for breakfast and it was phenomenal. Hubby ordered the crab cakes eggs Benedict that came with a small salad and toast and I ordered «The Big» which was three eggs I chose over easy, smoked bacon, chorizo sausage, a pancake, home fries and toast. While it was far too much food for me, it was delicious but in my opinion needed more toast for the eggs as it came with only two slices which is technically one cut in half. For this & two coffees including tip it was $ 40 which seemed a bit pricey for breakfast. We have already recommended this place to our friends and will return!

Heard great things about this place from relatives that live in the area. We waited almost 30 minutes for our breakfast to come out, and then when it finally came out the plates were missing the pancakes that were part of our original order. We didn’t get the missing pancakes until we were done eating and they came out burnt. And if that wasn’t frustrating enough, our waitress avoided our table until it was time for us to pay! Very disappointed with the food and service since we were only a party of 2.

One of the hidden gems in Hamilton. The food are tasty and fresh, friendly staff, wait time wasn’t too bad for a small place like this (15 – 20 minutes when I went).
The portions weren’t too big but its definitely filling. At the time I went I ordered a regular breakfast and friend ordered the pork hash. Both were delicious. The coffee is pretty good as well.
If you are visiting Hamilton or live in Hamilton and never been to this place. This is a must go.

Love that it is a local restaurant and everything tasted really fresh. I got «the big «breakfast that came with eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and pancakes. The scrambled eggs were a little too soft for my tastes, so if you like harder less mushy eggs let the waitress know. But aside from that everything tasted amazing and I would really recommend it.

You might wonder what’s taking the kitchen at Papa Leo’s that extra minute longer than your Toronto-​impatience is willing to handle. But then when the food comes out – you are schooled as to why!
The food definitely has a flare and signature in presentation and taste, that makes you know why Papa Leo invested in himself! Unimpeachable quality.
For lunch, we ordered the Papa Leo’s Grilled Cheese, and the Reuben sandwich on marbled rye. Both of which were yum and sustained us on our Websters Falls hike that afternoon (tho, we are smallish people). The food was presented to us direct from the kitchen by a friendly, informative tattooed man, who might be Papa Leo himself – but I was too shy to ask. Despite the restaurant being rammed, he had the atmosphere of a dude watering a lawn. Later he helped us iron out our cluelessness in navigating Hamilton with only one eye-​roll lol
The lone wait staff was warm and welcoming. She was humbly excited to usher us into the food adventure that we would be experiencing, shortly, and didn’t yell at us for bringing in a lukewarm coffee from Toronto.
Papa Leo’s seems to be the only place on sleepy Concession St in uptown Hamilton, that is packed. Don’t worry about the Buffalo-​Detroit nothingness of the area. If you can negotiate the hill, the construction and one way streets to find this gem (which is closer to the falls than downtown) DO IT! Your belly will thank you.

Best place for breakfast and lunch. One of the city’s best restaurants. The staff are amazing and Leo is always around greeting you with a smile. I recommend everything.

I went with the family and had an amazing experience! Food and service were super.
I am a ketchup addict and did not had to use any at all because the flavors were just perfect!

I didn’t know what to expect from this place because I’d never even heard of it, but I was impressed! I went with some colleagues who go there all the time and we ordered our meals over the phone beforehand, so they were ready within 5 minutes of being seated, which was awesome. I got delicious side salad with apple, goat cheese, and dried cranberries in it, as well as a Mediterranean omelette with a side of toast and potatoes. Everything was very fresh and well made!

This is our third weekend here in a row. My, wife, I and my friends hv almost tried everything once and the food amazes us every time. Service is really good. Everybody is nice. For sure, the best breakfast place I have been so far.

Fantastic Breakfast! Really enjoyed this nice little spot, the food was top notch. I had the Papa’s Eggs and they were delicious never had anything like that before but will travel back to have it again. Everyone in our party of four had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. Coffee was perfect as well. Great service very friendly.

Sunday breakfast was a pleasant treat. The wait staff was responsive and pleasant. The food was hot and nicely presented and The décor Pleasant. My husbands «Local» breakfast was enjoyable and good, the home fries had an unusual spice but was tasty. My «Continental» breakfast was imaginative, not the usual fare, nicely presented and delicious. The Latte was yummy.

This place came highly recommended from a friend of mine, so I made an effort to run down and give it a go.
The place is cozy, clean and the service was very friendly. The only issue I had with the menu was it’s lack of non-​pork protein options. My friend doesn’t eat pork and asked if they had turkey bacon as a sub, but they didn’t. Still, my friend ordered the Mediterranean omelet and he was very happy with it.
I ordered ‘Papa’s Eggs’, which consisted of two poached eggs served on fresh avocado instead of bread. I had sweet chorizo sausage and the entire setup was topped with a cheddar and cilantro sauce. It came with pan fried potatoes and the dish was nothing short of amazing! The concept of using fresh avocado instead of an English muffin worked really well for me as it was a refreshing twist on breakfast! The potatoes were also so good that I never used a single drop of ketchup to consume them.
While the menu is a little pricey (the bill came to about $ 35 for two people), I would not hesitate to go again as the food was off the hook brilliant. I really enjoyed eating at Pappa Leo’s and I can’t wait to try it again. This is clearly going to be my new favourite place for breakfast!

Went today with some «regulars» who have been raving about this place. Tried the huevos rancheros, very tasty, would have liked a bit more mango salsa and cilantro, but only because it was so good I wanted more. A friend had the pancakes with added berries cooked in, really good too, fluffy on the inside and really nicely done, all food was hot and fresh. Great service, the staff knew just what the regulars liked, maybe soon I will be a regular too?

The online reviews is what brought me and my party of 5 to Papa Leo’s for Sunday brunch. After a short wait, were seated. The service was very good, although the food was very slow to arrive – not the waitress’s fault, but the kitchen. Everyone around the table commented on how weak the coffee was. We had a drip, two americanos and a latte. The waitress was nice enough to refill our special drinks with drip coffee at no extra charge. The menu looks very appetizing but when the food arrived we were all underwhelmed by the taste, which was rather bland. We had the big, the huevos rancheros, and the papa’s. This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately it falls short on what matters the most: food.
