I’ve been here four times, in four years. That is once a year for my work’s «unofficial» holiday party. It’s a great space — lots of seating; chairs and tables — and lots of standing room. There are a couple pool tables. The staff are always friendly; they even paid for my cab home after one, extremely embarrassing, drunken evening a few years ago!(Thank you Michaels staff!) Check out their karaōke hosted by Laurie the Guy on Wednesday and Sunday nights, It’s a good time!

A friend recently had a show at Micheal’s so the bf and I decided to head over early to grab a bite first. Although the menu wasn’t all that appealing; the food was pretty decent. I had a club house panini with Greek salad and the bf had an array of apps which included potato skins, poutine and wings. All the food beat my expectations. We waited til 9 for drinks as there was a pitcher special of $ 12.95 and by 10 were into the bar area. The two areas definitely look like two different venues all together. While the restaurant setting is nice, clean and comfortable, the bar is very grunge like — with the crowd to match. So all-in-all we had a solid experience. The food will not break the bank and tastes pretty good. Service was great and they have a great venue for shows.

I went back to Michael’s for a bite and the food was pretty decent. We had a predictable appitizer sampler which mostly consisted of deep fried nibbles like chicken fingers and mozza sticks. There were also nachos. Everything was hot and fresh. The service was excellent, our server was joking and laughing with us and checked on us regularly. We were also having a few drinks and they were good value for money too. All in all, Michael’s is good if you are looking for a nice place to have some pub grub and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. There wasn’t very many people when we were there around 730pm but as we were leaving at 9 there was a crew just starting to assemble for karaōke. I might go back and check that out sometime too!

I’ve heard what goes on here at night and it frightens me. Actually this is an OK spot. they bought Lion’s Head nearby and the menu should start to look similar. It’s a simple spot, simple drinks. Depending on the plate, it’s pretty good, but I’ve found that the pasta dishes lacked sauce, but that’s my personal preference. I’ve been here for a group of 4 up to 16 and the service has been pretty good. Only once when the kitchen had problems when we were a group of 16 that it took longer to get our food. Wireless debit machines are available. They have a few daily specials which would be around 16 – 18 $ depending on your drink options. Staff have always been friendly and worked hard to manage the room. I’ve heard that this strip mall complex is going to go and replaced by another development at some point. But I prefer this spot than steak & stein across the street.

My office is about a 30 second walk from Michael’s so I end up here a lot. I’ve never been in the bar section(and I honestly didn’t realize there was a bar section until very recently), but I frequent the restaurant section for lunch on average once a week. I wouldn’t say the food is outstanding or anything, but it’s solid. I’ve never had anything here I didn’t like. They’ve actually recently revamped their menu, which has much improved the selection. The Pakora Vegetable dish(basically veggie tempura) is quite good, as are the stir fry selections. The daily special is often a decent deal — for example a crispy chicken wrap with soup or salad for $ 8. They don’t skimp on portions either. In fact, a coworker and I sometimes split the 2-pc fish and chips($ 11) and it’s just the right amount of food. Service has always been very friendly and helpful. We’ve never had a problem getting in and out within our allotted lunch break. Must try this place out for brunch some time soon.

Miss the 80’s? Don’t fret; the hair, the jeans, and the music are all available here! Esthetically, as soon as you enter, you’re faced with a business like restaurant setting, but before you know it you’re expecting Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox to time warp into the room. The bar zone of this establishment is quite roomy, and you have a lot of seats and tables to choose from. The population in attendance ranges from older adu

Michael’s is a curious spot — in a strip mall just across from a grocery store. Inside there is a restaurant out front and in back a good sized lounge with stage, dance floor and lots of high tables to lean on. The food is OK, nothing too special. The reason I go to Michael’s if for the music — primarily blues and primarily matinees. With sessions on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons it is a great place to drop in for a quick beer, maybe some fish and chips and check out some great local music. Every second Sunday of the month the East Coast Blues Society, a non-profit organisation for the promotion of blues music in Atlantic Canada, holds their Jam. Musicians sign up and get up to jam with others. There is always a surprise or two as one never knows who is going to show their stuff. Great fun for players and listerners alike.
