I have been here twice, and it is my favorite breakfast place in Guelph. Their extra crispy home fries are SO good. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with perfect amount of seasoning. Generous portions(I could not finish my food for both times) and tasty food. I got breakfast menu with grilled chicken breast. The chicken breast had nice grill marks on it, and it was cooked perfectly. For the second visit, I got a Mediterranean wrap(chicken breast, olives, tomatoes, feta, and lettuce). It was a tad heavy on mayo, other than that everything in the wrap was good. I got a garden salad as my side, and it was fresh and crisp. Overall, if you don’t mind waiting, I would recommend this place for both breakfast and lunch.

Very busy, especially on weekends but would not go anywhere else for breakfast. Food is wonderful, great service and excellent prices. Would highly recommend.

This place is always busy on weekends, be prepared to wait at least 15 – 30 minutes. Besides that, this is quite possibly the best breakfast in Guelph. They have unique selections and A LOT of options. I have never had anything that I even slightly disliked! Their lunch menu also has a lot of options, and since my grandma has a severe allergy to wheat, they offer plenty of gluten free options as well.

While my food was tasty, it came out cold and my asperagus was way overcooked. My server spent more time paying attention to a table of her friends than to her other tables. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee nor did my server return to ask me if my meal was okay(at which point I would have asked her to warm it up a little more). Once it was time to pay I informed my server that my food tasted good but it was fairly cold and I also could have used a bit more coffee. The only response I got was an unenthusiastic, «oh, sorry.» Not impressed for my first time there and I won’t be rushing to get back. It’s certainly not a place I would recommend for friends in the future.

Possibly the best breakfast in Guelph. They have a lunch menu too but I’ve never tried it. This is a small place with a small waiting area. Be prepared for a decent 20 to 30 minute wait on the weekends. You may even need to wait outside. It’s worth it. There is a huge, potentially overwhelming, selection. You can always find something you want. Prices aren’t bad. The food is good and the plates are filled up. Service varies on the server and how busy it is. Usually it’s pretty good and they make sure to refill your coffee.

Great breakfast and lunch. Awesome burgers. Usually way too busy, I prefer takeoout for that reason. Priced fairly.

Busy, busy place most mornings. I avoid on weekends, simply because I am not a fan of waiting for tables at breakfast. They are well worth the wait, but that is not how my kids roll! We often will go when we can sneak time away for a weekday breakfast. Chai tea lattes are very well done, as are the Americanos. The Brazilian flatbread is my favourite item, but none of the menu items disappoint. Be warned though, this is not a quiet place. The hungover looking for a quick, quiet greasy breakfast would best wait til the aspirin works on their headache before going in. Not cheap, but not outrageous either.

My in-laws raved about the breakfast at this place while we were visiting from California, so we all decided to dine here for brunch. The place was a little packed when we arrived, with about 2 or 3 people ahead of us(wasn’t too bad) but the lady working at the front desk was running around all hectic as if there was a line out the door. I wanted to grab her and tell her to breath and to calm down! Our waiter. don’t remember his name. was attentive to all of our needs(we were a party of 7) and I was surprised that they didn’t charge an 18% gratuity charge for parties over 6 like they do here in California. I wanted to leave more tip money, but my Canadian inlaws told me you’re only suppose to leave equivalent to the tax dollar amount. The food was good, considering I’m not a breakfast person. Would’ve been 5 stars, but I’m pretty sure I ordered a hash, and got small pieces of cut up ham? There was no hash and an abundant amount of onions. jeez so many onion chunks! Even with no corned beef hash and too many onions, it still turned out to be good. Didn’t get a chance to finish it since I became stuffed after 1⁄3 of my dish. Overall, good breakfast restaurant with a wide selection of choices(eggs, eggs benedict, scrambled, crepes, french toast, waffles, etc.).

I’m not sure why I wait in line to come here. It seems everyone in Guelph loves this spot. I, however, not being a Guelph local, do not. I do not love it. I ordered a Western Omlette, which, is simple enough. What arrived was a plate of squishy eggs that had been fed through a salt lick. Some ham and onions were tossed in for good measure. Granted the wait time for a table and lack of better breakfast options, I’d pass on this one. At least the toast was good.

Been there once — line up is quite big on the weekends but the turnover is quite quick. Had the Californian eggs benedict — quite good but I wouldn’t say it was too special. Coffee is ordinary. Staff are friendly. Very loud(because it’s a family restaurant) and it was very busy that day.

Been many times for weekend breakfast and this place is always busy! The food is always good. The lineups tend to be quite long so be prepared to wait for breakfast on the weekends! Also been for dinner. Reasonably priced, good food, and WAY less busy!

This is my third time here at Eggcetera, and I have had a different experience each time i come. The first time i was ready to write it off because i wasn’t pleased with the food or the service. I came back and loved it. Unfortunately when i went there the other day, it was reminiscent of my first experience. The restaurant was busy and for a party of four we waited a reasonable time. Our food came out at a good pace, but the food just wasn’t good. When you are getting a breakfast plate with eggs and potatoes and a protein, there is nothing fancy here, it should all be good. I rarely season my food in a restaurant because the people in the kitchen are the pros and they should be tasting everything that is coming out. There was a major seasoning issue with the potatoes. I salted them 3 times, and they still tasted just like boiled potatoes. With all of the emerging breakfast restaurants in town, Eggcetera really needs to step their game up.

Went for breakfast this morning with mom, wife and myself. Little slow at turning some tables so there was a line forming. Once we got to table too some time to get that first cup of coffee. We ordered: Canadian Bacon benedict French toast Classic breakfast The classic breakfast and eggs benedict came fast but for some reason the French toast took forever. The fact that the food was good and hot is what got the higher rating for this restaurant. If there would have been quailty issues with the food it would have been a much more disappointing visit.

Quick update: SITATTHEBAR. They take terrific care of you, there — better service, and you can actually see the special smoothies, so you know what to order. The brunch bloody caesar was lovely — spicy and flavorful — and the brunch smoothie we had was fantastic!
