I’ve been remiss in not shouting out for Ian and Claire. Thanks to a recent thread [ , I can correct this gross oversight and tell you about Finlayson Goldsmiths. Finlayson’s has been in business for many years. They made wedding rings for my wife and self, and we could not be happier with them. Katie took her mom’s rings and recycled the diamonds and gold into a stunning creation. Mine is a simpler design, yet equally striking. The rings were designed and created in a somewhat protracted process, during which our misty visions were brought into beautiful life. Sketches were passed back and forth until we all felt happy about the designs. Our fingers were measured repeatedly to account for their natural swelling and shrinking. Katie is a clay artist and her ring was designed to minimize interference with her work. At all times, there was equal appreciation for aesthetics, cost, and daily usage. The final creations were truly magnificent. Their rings are not the cheapest — you can go online for that — but they will leave you completely satisfied. Which is as it should be for a once-in-a-lifetime purchase.
