When I was growing up, this was my public library of choice. That said, the new building, now combined with city hall, is a lovely environment for a public library. The 3M self-check machine is visually appealing and the holds section is located conveniently near the entrance/exit. The computer workstations seem well used, well lit and centrally located. There are many small reading nooks. I was able to find good books to read and recommend to others during my visits here. For a city of the size of Fort Saskatchewan, this library definitely serves the needs of the community including areas for children, young adults, and adults and seems visually appealing and also utilitarian. The donor wall recognizes the people and organizations that helped make the library happen and is aesthetically pleasing enough to encourage others to help fill the funding gaps. I really like visiting this library at the historic city center of town.

At my advanced age, I am still taking courses. I find the Fort Library is great place to go to study in a quiet atmosphere. They have a quite study room that seems to be respected every time that I am there. There is free WiFi and not the throttled variety that you find at places like McDonalds and StarBucks. There a good number of internet terminals that can be used if that is your thing. The only note is that the library is currently undergoing renovation as part of the building of the new City Hall. Lets hope the goods things about this library are preserved and even enhanced in the new library.
