I went here because someone told me the coffee is great – it’s not. The pastries are excellent, but you can get a lot more bang for your buck at a couple other places just up the street. Nice atmosphere but tends to be a bit crowded on the weekends.

This is by far my most favourite place to eat in all of Langley. I like the coffee, but it’s the croissants that keep me coming back. The hazelnut and pain chocolat are the best. Truly authentic. My only complaint is that the line is sometimes slow, but overall I don’t mind waiting for my drink or food to be ready… it’s just that sort of place that you are supposed to take it slow, sit down and enjoy the experience. Looking forward to trying everything else on the menu bit by bit… just not sure how to move away from the croissants to do so!

I love this bakery especially the lemon cronut and crispy croissant with bacon and cheese. The cronut is the best that I have never had especially that it is better than the donuts from Tim Hortons or Krispy Kreme. If I really want to eat something unhealthy to spoil myself, this cronut must be the one! The croissant with bacon and cheese is amazing that both bacon and cheese are embedded in the croissant. Usually bakeries or cafes cut the croissants in half, stuff other ingredients like ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and others into the croissant but Blacksmith Bakery bakes the croissant with bacon and cheese together. It is the best one that I have ever had.

It’s a lovely bakery but has a very small food menu. They usually only have soup, quiche and few sandwich choices and that’s it.

looking around for the bakery blacksmith, I found this shop instead… but no sign of the blacksmith? One of the few bakeries where one can order a beer(likely to save on wages; minimum wage is significantly lower for places licensed to serve alcohol!), I was thinking whether to order a drink here or go to the pub, when their brownies caught my eye! I ordered one and walked to the river with it. Delicious!

Here my diet plan flies out the window on a warm apricot chocolate ganache torte. It is so good I almost thought about just having these little sexy chocolate things in lieu of a wedding cake… not so everyone else could enjoy the awesome, but so I could indulge more. When here, I seem to add to my cart like a vegan in a grocery store; everything gets into my basket. The poppy seed lemon madeleines(oh yes, ill need those for tea later), the vienna doughnuts(oh well because I have a older lady friend who might pop by), the orange pine nut tarts(because you have to offer something other than chocolate for dessert), and the langue du chat(because I love cats, dammit). Its like a little cake devil suddenly appears on my shoulder as I walk through the door. «Sit down!» it eagerly says.“you never enjoy a moment”. Oh you little devil… a london fog and a tart it is. It seems I am not alone, as many others I stare at lounging in the place are doing the same. There’s the old lady hunkered down over a giant old fashioned hot chocolate, with whip cream on her face and a wild look in her eyes, the sophisticated soccer mom giving her kids vienna doughnuts and colouring books while she lustily indulges in a pâté au chocolat with her elbow covering up the evidence, and the construction worker, happily sucking down a mocha and inappropriately fingering his madeleines. Its a sin, but I’m in!

Nice to see a new place for a quick bite in the village… The bacon and cheese croissants is a good hangover cure

We stopped in for a tourist afternoon in Fort Langley and decided to try this bakery/coffee shop/café. Like the clean modern interior with home made baked goods, sandwiches, and the ability to get a beer or wine if you’d like. Latte and americano were a little on the strong side which is fine with us. The apple caramel cheesecake is great and everything else looked good while we were here. This place has 4 tables only plus a long communal table for about 15 people with a couple of patio tables where you can see the bakery in action. We’re coming here again to check out their sandwiches and enjoy another coffee.

I stumbled upon this bakery when waiting for a friend for lunch. Decided to try their shortbread(I looove shortbread!). It is seriously the best whipped shortbread I’ve ever had. I thought I’d write a Unilocal review to make sure people knew to try the shortbread but lo and behold it’s the title-holder on here! This many people can’t be wrong… :) Ps everything else in there looked scrumptious — they even had an elk salami panino!

Stopped in today for the first time. Hubby and I had a shortbread cookie each as a treat while we window shopped. So tasty, will definitely be going back for lunch and another yummy dessert!

Yum, Yum, Yum! The croissants are amazing and the pain au chocolat is even better. The shortbread are perfect and the merveilleux was other-wordly. With great coffee(local to Ft Lgly I was told) and a welcoming atmosphere it is the perfect place to while-away an afternoon and one of my new favourites.

Best new coffee shop in Fort Langley. You seriously have to try their croissant, or pretty much anything. I am so impressed and I’m hard to impress.
