My Place Bar & Grill

Been here twice probably won’t be back. The atmosphere is nice the wait staff is friendly. It’s probably got the persona of being more upscale than it actually is. The menu options are OK not a huge variety. Beer and Spirit selection is OK not a huge variety there either. On our first visit we were given a loaf of bread with our apps prior to our meals. The loaf was burnt beyond recognition the waitress claimed she didn’t notice, but anyone with a sense of smell should have. On our second visit the service was slow we had a group of 8 so I understand if things take a little longer, but we had to ask for our drink order to be taken and ask the waiter to come over to take our drink order if we wanted a refill. On this visit my wife’s sandwich was not properly prepared it was under cooked. Not very impressed with a place that has potential.

Great place in Fonthill. Great service and atmosphere. Everyone is super friendly and they have a huge selection of food! Something for everyone! I highly recommend one of their burgers or their chicken parmesan. Love it here, love going here, and will continue to go.

This is the best restaurant in Fonthill. Great atmosphere, excellent food, always good. Always go back. Food is good and on cool nights its nice to sit outside by their outdoor fireplace. It’s a place where they will do whatever to make your meal to your liking. Service has always been good and love their curry mussels. Thanks «my place «for being my place to go!!!

I have been to this restaurant about five times now. My grandparents live quite close to here so my family and I often go here together. This evening we had a small group of four. We were greeted and taken to our seats within 2 min of walking in the door which was nice. The booths along the sides of the restaurant here are comfy but I find them a tad small for four people. We are always hitting elbows and trying to rearrange plates on the table to make room. However, they do have two nice big booths at the very front of the restaurant. I usually get a hamburger here as they are typically good. Today I decided to have a Reuben sandwich. It was actually pretty good! Nice portion of corned beef and proportionate amount of sauerkraut. My only complaint is that the marble rye was not toasted well on the bottom, which caused the bread to become a little soggy as the sauce set in. Also the service was not that great. We hardly ever saw our waiter! We also had to wait quite a while to get our food. The strangest thing was watching a waiter kick a fork across the floor rather than bend down to pick it up. I was not impressed by that at all! So I am unsure if I will be returning to this restaurant again.

There aren’t many spots for a nice meal out in the Pelham area so this is a regular go to for my reunions with friends when I am in town and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The menu options are rich and flavorful, and change with the seasons; the drink options are inclusive and their overall prices are average. I’ve had the Thanksgiving dinner, a few of the sandwiches (the grilled veggie is a personal go to), as well as a couple of their pizzas which provide a wonderful combination of flavors. It’s become a familiar gathering place for me and I will certainly be back.

At work, we have a Christmas ornament exchange dinner every year. Last year we went to Fresco’s in St. Catharines and I wrote a review on that restaurant so I thought that it would only be fair if I wrote one this year. This year, we decided to keep the dinner local as a few people from work didn’t want to drive all the way to St. Catharines so we decided on My Place Bar and Grill in Fonthill. I’ve never been there before but a few people from work have been there and said the food was excellent so I was excited to see for myself. The restaurant serves a lot of Mediterranean food which I am not a big fan of, but I was confident that they would have at least one thing that I would be interested in trying. We arrived at the restaurant around 6:30pm and they had a separate section reserved for us as we had about 15 people coming for dinner. We had a waiter and a waitress who took our drink orders while we waited for the rest of our co-​workers to come. The restaurant is very nice inside and I took some pictures. I decided to try the 8 oz Steak with potatoes ($ 17.99) and chose a garden salad. We waited about 30 minutes for all of our food to come but the time goes by fast when you are having conversations with different people at our table. I had no complaints about my meal as it was quite tasty! Of course when I got my plate it looks like there is hardly any food on the plate but by the time i finished it, I was stuffed! The service was not that good considering we had 2 servers. Not once did they offer to refill my pop when my glass was empty. After everyone finished eating, we all sat around for about 25 minutes then finally a co-​worker had to go tell the server that we wanted dessert. After dessert, the same co-​worker had to go get the server and ask for our bills! I thought this was very bad service as they didn’t check how we all were doing with our meals. I got my bill and it was about $ 38.00. Apparently I got charged $ 4.00 for a salad that I thought came with the meal. I’ve never been to a place where you have to pay extra for a garden salad. Oh well, life goes on! I didn’t leave too much of a tip as the server was not the greatest. I’ve had better service at a fast food joint. I don’t think I will be going back to that restaurant again, some of you might call me crazy but I was not overly impressed with the whole experience.
