Drivetest

This is a good center to get your G2 but its a little busy. My test was 10min late but no big deal because I passed :)

First and foremost, the Ontario driver’s license graduating system is simply a cash grab under the control of Serco (a giant multinational) as the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario that had signed a contract with them since 2003. It has also been confirmed by The Toronto Star a few years ago, they deliberately fail test takers to keep a quota. To add insult to injury, dealing with these examiners directly is a severe pain in the ass, at least at this location.
Located on Eglinton Avenue West (on the border between Mississauga and Etobicoke), this drivetest centre is located in a relatively small quiet plaza area right next to the bowling alley. If you plan on writing your test to get a G1, it might be a real difficult to come here by yourself as 1. You obviously cannot drive alone here without a license and 2. There is no TTC service that reaches this far to this location if you are from coming within the Toronto proximity. The drive test centre facility has the same feel of a juvenile detention centre (If I recall Serco also design prisons and detention centres)
I did my G1 written test, G1 exit test, and G2 exit test to get my G all at this location, so prepare to have your required documents and cards when coming here to wait in line as service is painfully slow with employees taking hour long breaks all at once for some reason especially during around lunch hour causing long line ups. You basically waste a large portion of your day at this place if you have a test scheduled so do expect some mental frustration.
When I was doing my G2 exit test, I had the misfortune of getting an obnoxious sounding Polish guy named Jahn (pronounced «Yawn», something I assume anyone would do being around this guy) for my G2 exit test who barely spoke proper English. This examiner had literally lashed out and raised his voice while we were still on the road driving near the end of the exam lacking any sense of professionalism as I had physically emphasized my blind spot checks during the test, to which he was not fond of and debated that I was not checking blind spots as he perceived his opinion as «facts» as the main reason for disqualification, despite me adamantly demonstrating blind spot checking while he had his beak faced down jotting notes on the yellow test paper. I ended up speaking with this moron’s supervisor who was a chubby bald bloated supervisor on duty named Aldo, on how they extensively train their examiners and of course they cannot do anything about it as (we) the examinee applicants cannot put a dashcams or a have third party person during the test as evidence.
After speaking with a supervisor, I had the odd incident of having that examiner, Jahn, waddle back from behind the employee room wanting to see my failed rubric sheet as he wrongly indicated which street he had penalized me for as it took him almost half an hour to figure out and assess «facts» in his mind regarding my road test that just happened prompting him to jotting down the correct street on my yellow sheet again, as opposed to assessing it in my car during my road test. I eventually got my G license after paying $ 84.75 ($ 75 + 13% HST tax) again for another test. People from other provinces however have a fortunate loophole where they can transfer their licenses from their home provinces that had a shorter/​simpler licensing process into a full Ontario driver’s license not having to deal with this bullsh*t.
Overall, be prepared to deal with bureaucratic a**holes and low life drones at this place trying to milk as much money as possible from you through this dubious graduating license system in Ontario.

Rude staff, slow service, and an absurdly far away location. How is it possible that, in a city of 2.5 million people, they don’t have a single test centre easily accessible by TTC. When I’m taking my first written test I DEFINITIONALLY CAN’T DRIVE MYSELF THERE. Surely accessibility should be one of the top priorities when siting these. ServiceOntario centres are vastly better than Drivetest at everything they do.

This location is very busy so prepare yourself to be there earlier and waiting in long lines. The testers are hit and miss but bunch of my people including myself have passed their test at this location without much problem.
Make sure you check out the area before the test as the speed on the road starts at 70 changes to 40 then in some areas 50 and then they take you to a highway and then you have 60 and you are back on 70 Km/​hr.

Going for my 3^rd attempt at a G2 (passed) and it appears to be all money grubbing to me… went on 3 different routes until I finally passed. THANKFULLY. My advice to all in regards to applying for an additional road test, IF YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD, book online!

Obviously renewing drivers’ licenses, health cards, passports, and other things that require dealings with bureaucracy suck. Even taking that into account this was a 1-​star (why won’t they let me use 0-​star?) experience.
I showed up at 4:30, a full half hour before they closed, to exchange my out-​of-​province license. The guy said that I wouldn’t have my number called before they closed. He said that I should have been there by 3:30 or 4. This is ridiculous. If you are going to stop handing out new numbers at 4, then just say you close at 4 or that you stop giving out numbers at 4. Don’t pretend that you close at 5. He claimed that it is somewhere in the FAQs on the website. So, evidently, instead of just looking at a location’s hours and going, you should be investigating the whole website to find any other pertinent details. It doesn’t help my frustration that they only have locations in the middle of nowhere.
