In a nut shell this must be the worst buffet I’ve ever been to. We were there at lunch food was cold with no taste. There were no wontons in the soup ask for more a few minutes later they put some more in the soup but the wontons were cold with a off taste. The fried rice was really bad. All I know I will never eat here again.

Yet another dive bar with nothing to offer other than average pub food and drinks poured in glasses that you gotta make sure are clean before you sip out of. The last time I actually came here I spent 10 minutes sitting at a table, unnoticed by the staff, and ended up just leaving. I had a BLT& fries the one time I had visited before that, and the food was okay, as was the server(who has since quit), but this place is a dump, let’s face it. It looks like it was converted from somebody’s basement, decorated with VLT machines, bad lighting and ugly furniture from decades past. A little TLC could go a long way in this place, but like so many other dives, the owners seem to have their priorities elsewhere. Pass! I Heart Edmonton

A typical diner/pub/greasy spoon sort of place, with a menu consisting of burgers, steaks, pizza, and a few other sandwich/wrap type options. Breakfast is served every weekday from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., until 2 on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays. Prices are really reasonable for both food and drinks. I had a 10 inch(medium) vegetarian pizza and had to take half of it home, because it was so thick and full of toppings. It took a while for the order to arrive because of the pizza, but it was worth the wait. The beef dip comes on two hamburger buns with a mountain of fries. Inside, there are VLTs, lots of televisions, and karaōke is held here regularly. This isn’t exactly a destination sort of place but if you’re in the Ottewell area, it’s a solid, affordable choice. No minors.

This used to be a Chinese restaurant, now it’s under new management and it serves«homemade style» meals. It feels like a cross between a diner/pub. It’s located right on the edge of the industrial part of Edmonton and is surrounded by lots of businesses. The perk for them is there aren’t many other restaurants in the area within walking distance, so there’s not much competition, so the bars set kinda low. This place doesn’t have much ambiance. I don’t get the name — either how to say it or what it means. The menu’s OK. They’ve got variety — burgers, beef dip, fajita chicken, monte cristo, mexicasa wraps, baked lasagna, thai salad, fettuccini alfredo. I had the beef dip and it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it wasn’t the worst. The dipping sauce was delicious, not too watery and not too thick, and the fries were yummy and crispy. But the bun on the beef dip was a little old and dry. Parts of it crumbled in my hands as I ate. The waitress was nice enough, called everyone ‘hun’ and it fit well with the whole homemade style cooking gimmick, but her and another waitress sat around at the bar talking loudly and you could hear them swearing, which I found kinda tacky. They have a cheap morning breakie for $ 5 between 6 and 9 and there’s karaōke there a couple of times a week. There’s a restaurant side and a bar area with pool table and more loungy seats, which was way more appealing, but the waitress told me she’d «prefer» if I didn’t sit in there, even though I was the only person in the whole restaurant. All in all, Xwrecks is kinda lame.
