Greasy goodness! There’s nearly always a few people in line at this little booth in an odd corner of WEM — and that’s a good sign of things to come. I’ve only ever gotten the original pretzel(with butter and salt), because I’m a bit of a pretzel purist, but I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a bad one. YES it is greasy. NO there isn’t really much service.(they’ll try to up sell you a sauce but that’s literally all you’ll hear from them except the price. you even have to ask for napkins — and please — remember to ask for napkins!) BUT it is exactly as expected for a little hole in the wall selling delicious fresh pretzels.

It’s a kiosk in WEM, yes. That does pretzels. A variety of pretzels. Savoury and sweet. My biggest mistake was loving it too much. My last visit to the cinema involved two of these bad boys because I thought I was hungry. I was, but there is a LOT of pretzel in one of these, and two was too much. I ate them anyway(a salted pretzel and a pepperoni pretzel). I disgust myself, but it was tasty. I added extra work outs for the week to overcompensate.(points for effort?) It’s a great quick stop after mini-golf or on the way to the cinemas, and not somewhere to go all the time. But once and a while, it satisfies a salted-bread craving like nobody else can. Now if we could just get a beer with it…

Everytime I walk past this place in the mall it always has a huge line up so I finally decided it was time to try this place and see what the fuss is all about. I had the cinnamon pretzel bites and if I was writing this review based on the product alone it would definitely be a 5. They came out hot, fresh, and tasting like K days mini donuts which was a delicious surprise. I do have a couple of issues with this place which took away from the overall experience however. First off the placement of their menu is irritating. Instead of having it overhead where people passing by can glance at it and see if there is anything interesting enough to make them want to stop they instead have it on the front panels underneath the till written in a small font. If there is a large lineup waiting to order and pay which there usually is this makes it impossible to read the menu and you then have to stand in the line to be able to see it. Also I have to comment on the dips which is something Violet P. touched on in her review. The exact words out of the cashiers mouth after I ordered my pretzel bites were«and with what kind of dip mam?» which to me makes it sound like the dips come with whatever you ordered free of charge. As a first time customer I had no idea they cost extra and it is super shady that they phrase it that way giving no indication that you are about to be charged extra. The pretzels like I said were excellent and the bag was so full that I wasn’t able to finish it all in one sitting so I feel like it’s a good value. I would probably come back but if long lines and spotty service really bothers you there are other places in the mall that offer things to snack on that are just as good who don’t have the issues I have brought up in this review.

I’ve been a loyal customer for wetzels since long before they came to Edmonton, so when they serve me a dry bag of wetzel bitz barely full I’m quite disappointed. They told me I was going to receive a fresh batch from the oven but they ended up giving me the last half full bag from the heat box and when I mentioned how it wasn’t full they insisted on bringing out the scale. I hope next time I go here they won’t be so rude about it.

Yuuuuum. That’s how I can express my views on this. An original with cheese sauce. Was a great snack for me, when I went to the movies.(Truth be told, I had two!) Hot and fresh and the service was great. … Now I want a pretzel…

This was my first time to Wetzel’s and I ordered the original. A nice addition to Edmonton and I believe the only place to get a freshly made pretzel. The pretzel was warm and soft, but I found it was pretty greasy. Definitely not the healthiest, but pretty good overall. The service was seriously lacking but for a small kiosk it didn’t ruin the experience. Would probably go again for a quick snack!

Okay so I’ve tried pretzels from here on three separate occasions. The pretzels themselves are fresh and warm and better than anything else out there that’s promoting pretzels at the moment. That being said, I think they’re still expensive for what you get and the service is not exactly friendly. If you need a pretzel fix, then try it out. The pretzels loaded with cheese and/or pepperoni and/or jalapenos are greasy so be forewarned!

I hate to admit it but I am a fan of the Jalaroni pretzel. Fortunately I was able to share it with somebody because I’m pretty sure it isn’t healthy for you with a layer of cheese so think it looks like a live entity consuming the pretzel. I would feel so guilty eating a whole one. One Jalaroni(jalapeño, pepperoni, cheese and pretzel) and cheese dipping sauce costs $ 6. It was so wrong, but so good. I would not recommend this place if you are going healthy though.

Where have you been all my life?! Best pretzles I’ve ever had. Don’t let them talk you into upsizing your lemonade though, it’s a LOTTAJUICE!

I absolutely LOVE fresh salted pretzels so when I heard a pretzel store was finally opening in Edmonton, I was really excited. Unfortunately, when I tried their salted pretzel, I found the dough they used to not have much flavor especially when I compared it against their US competitors. After trying their pepperoni pretzel on my next visit though, I would suggest getting more«flavorful» options since this second pretzel at least had some flavor and was much better.

Long lines doesn’t necessarily mean it’s worth the wait? The review is based on the whole experience including the service and not just the pretzels. There was about 10 people in front of us when we joined the line. It took about 10 – 15 minutes until our order was taken. There was about 5 people making and preparing the pretzels but after ordering there were a number of people waiting. We ordered an original, pepperoni cheddar, jalapeño cheddar and large lemonade for $ 17.70. They ask what kind of dip you want, but don’t tell you it’s extra charge of 90 cents. We were told we would have to wait about 6 – 8 minutes for the original. We started on the cheese pretzels first and while my pepperoni was good, it was greasy. About 10 minutes later, we were asked what kind of pretzel we were waiting for and got the original one salted. It was the best of them all. Warm and salty and no dip was needed to enjoy. I know people who have waited longer than 30 minutes in the line up to getting their pretzels. If you want to try, I suggest waiting until the lines die down and hopefully they figure out a better way to get the food out faster. Fifteen minutes to get a pretzel if you really want one.

LOVEDIT! Not sure what all they have yet on the menu since I know this place is new and have only been here once. I had a cinnamon pretzel. They are soft and almost like something you might find at K days. Reminds me of k days mini doughnuts! Also the staff I met there were friendly and easy to chat with. The pretzel was delicious and I came back a week later to get another one but the line seemed to be too long for me at that time?! Only 4 stars though because I feel it was a bit over priced especially the fountain pop.
