The ladies at Spasation Whyte are very personable and eager to make sure you have a fantastic day at the spa. My mom and I go regularly to get massages and enjoy the steam room. Once we were short changed on our massage time, and the manager was extremely apologetic upon hearing it. She insisted we come back and let them make it up. We did and it was so worth it. The atmosphere in the massage rooms are quite relaxing and the girls are good with their hands. I have also had my hair done here, and it was also a good experience. I think they are really working hard to gain a regular clientele. Give them a chance.

I stopped in here on a time crunch with out an appointment but with a lot of hope they could squeeze me in to tame my unruly brows. Thankfully they were able to accommodate my on the spot request and I was checked in quickly and taken to the upstairs waiting room where I was offered coffee or tea type beverages. The wax lady greeted me promptly, Sherrien(sp?) Was her name and she took me straight up to the waxing room. She mentioned they also do facials and massages as part of their menu. The building is neat. It has a great spa like feel and was very clean. She quickly and fairly painlessly removed the overgrown and unruly brows and made sure that they would be «beautiful». She was right and I was very impressed how nice my brows looked with such little pain! I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and felt like a million bucks with my new brows. It was a great experience.

I went here for a pedicure with a couple of friends as part of a bachelorette a few weeks ago. My initial impressions of Spasation was from always seeing it in dingy malls and so I didn’t have the highest hopes. That said, it was aesthetically nice; better than I expected. The signage outside was even nice and modern and totally different from their other locations. I got the impression they’re trying to rebrand themselves and be modern. I knew my friends were upstairs in the spa already, so when I walked in I just walked upstairs(there was a counter but the girl was busy with another client). There was another counter upstairs but nobody was there so I rang the bell. Five minutes later a girl ssslllooowwwlllyyy walks up and asks if I needed a hand(all the while looking straight down, not at me, and seemingly completely disinterested). I explained that I was here for a pedicure and my friends were already there. She took me halfway to where they were before asking if I also had an appointment. I explained that I hadn’t made it(my friend had) but that I had one. She then slowly takes me back to the desk and looks up my appointment. After a couple minutes, she still couldn’t find it and took me to my friends. When I sat down, she asked me my name again to look up my appointment(apparently the previous 10 minutes were forgotten?). Anyways… I sat with my friends for approx 10 minutes(which was fine — I loved catching up!), but I noticed that nobody offered us water or tea or anything(which I’m used to in nicer salons). Eventually we were brought to the pedicure room(I guess they found my appt?), which was quite nice. There were no massage chairs(sad face), but the seating was quite comfortable with lots of pillows. Everything was already set up and the water was a good temperature. My aesthetician did a good job on my nails(no smears, chips, or anything even after a week)… though they didn’t really get rid of thick heel skin(it seems to be 50⁄50 if places do this). I found the sanitation to be really great — one of the girls had a little bit of fungus and her aesthetician gave her the nail polish she used after, so that it wouldn’t be re-used. Definite props. They had lots of great OPI nail colors, as well. Overall, it was an a-okay experience. Nothing exceptionally negative(though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the initial receptionist), but I expected a little more service(water or something) for $ 65.

Definitely a fan of this place. So close to being blown out of the water… but not quite yet. I’ve been to three of Spasation’s locations around the Edmonton area, and all of them are consistent with service quality and have nice staff. The Whyte Ave location specifically: I had my hair cut and coloured here once, and the girl did a great job. She was very patient and professional. I’ve also had some laser hair removal procedures, and it’s pretty good compared to other businesses that I’ve tried for that. I love that they often have great deals on Groupon for hair cuts, laser, and massage. I always choose their Groupons over other«unknown» places, because I know I can trust Spasation as a large, reputable company, with properly trained staff. Quite often when I go, the spa is practically empty. Not sure if I go at weird times, or if the spa business is just getting way more competitive… but it does make for a quiet, calm atmosphere!

I recently finished a laser hair removal procedure through this Spasation location. Overall, the experience was great. The process was pretty painless(apart from the super cold gel they put on your skin) and my technician Brittany was awesome. She was happy to answer any questions and made sure I was always comfortable. Obviously with procedures like this there are risks associated, but I did my research and was very comfortable with Brittany’s expertise and the salon’s safety guidelines. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get some laser hair removal done.

I’m updating my review due to injuries that have manifested after a few days. Although my technician was a wonderfully friendly woman, her work has left my eyelids cut up and red. Paying for someone to injure me isn’t exactly my favourite.

I was quite impressed with my one and only visit here. It was part of the Unilocal Shops Local event this year and they had a deal where a $ 20 donation to Ronald McDonald House would get you a free chair massage or a hand treatment. My massage was really quite professional(and longer than I expected) and I would definitely suggest going here for happy and friendly treatment by their staff. In addition, as they weren’t busy I got a hand treatment while I was waiting for my friend to receive her massage. This was excellent and far better than just pacing back and forth! It had been years since I had visited another Spasation location before visiting this one and I am pleased that the care paid to little details and to things like fundraising and celebrating fun events is still happening.

I had received a gift card for these spas during Christmas and thought it was finally time to give this place a shot. After reading over several negative Unilocal reviews on this company, I was a bit hesitant to actually go. But I noticed that the whyte ave location was brand new and did not have any bad reviews. Therefore I chose this location to have a pedicure. Right from the beginning I enjoyed my stay. The place looked beautiful and I was attended right away. I wish I had brought my bathing suit as they have a complementary sauna/steam room built in the changing room for the spa clients to use. Anyways, everything was nice about this location and service. The foot soak and scrub was great, massage even better, and the end look of my feet was fantastic. I only had one nail smudge but it wasn’t a big deal, it was just on the corner. They also give you thin complementary flip flops, so you can let your feet dry before you leave. It’s great cause I still use them at home. The only thing that would’ve made this fantastic was the communication skills of the nail technician. She was kind and polite but she never bothered having a conversation with me. Which I guess can be fine but not bothering to answer when I speak to you can be a little irksome, so I understood and instead grabbed a magazine. But overall I was happy with her work and would recommend this location to anyone that can afford their higher than usual prices.

Guess it’s been busy. Got here 15 minutes early for my appointment, and waited. And waited. 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment start time,(40 mins waiting) we got started. Just about left my shadow behind! While I was waiting… wasn’t really informed how long my wait would be. There was water, infused strawberry fruit water, and several David’s tea. Some fruit. Not bad. Products were pleasant, and not overly fragranced. Helpful for those of us with scent allergies. Had the Classic pedicure because I was pressed for time with my next Unilocal Event supposed to start an hour after my originally scheduled finish time. Gal at the desk wasn’t the most gracious greeter, but the rest of the staff were warm and friendly. Hoping the scheduling will iron itself out. I’ve never had an aesthetician come from an appointment doing hair extensions to a pedicure, many talents!
