Never going back. Up sold me on an expensive set of poles that lasted less than three days on the hill before one snapped in half. Sales guy tried to convince me It was a high quality pole that I abused. Right. My old pair of poles are 40 years old. I’ve skied on them for 8 years, harder than I managed to get to on the new pair, and my dad 20 years before that. They are fine. Leki poles are over priced cheap garbage. Just finished reviewing the video… These snapped on a 3 degree day, after I fell rather slowly forward. When I rolled down the hill, it bent to a 90 degree. I’m 180 lbs… Which might sound like a lot, but for a «high end» $ 180 pole in a foot of snow? C’mon. It shouldn’t bend, let alone snap. It’s one thing to be up-sold. It’s another to be up sold on a poor quality product that neither the distributor nor the manufacturer will stand behind when things go wrong under mild use.

I purchased my son’s first snowboard from this store and thought they were terrific. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and took time to help me make an informed decision on what to purchase for my son. Naturally, I went to this same store two years later when my son wanted a new set up for his birthday present. The service was great(the associate indicated he actually owned the bike store upstairs) — again, he was friendly and was very patient with a mother who has no idea what she was buying. He helped me pick out new boots, bindings and board. So, why the poor review? Because less than a month later, my son’s left boot was falling apart. He had used them 3 times(for about 2 – 3 hours each time) and he weighs a total of 60 pounds. The first associate told me that he didn’t think the warranty would cover that because it was normal wear and tear. I asked to speak to the manager and it was the owner who came to talk to me. He insisted that it was deliberate damage and that they would not cover it. I showed him the receipt as I couldn’t believe that their equipment wasn’t even covered for 30 days. The owner was so rude about the whole thing and told my 10 year old son it was his fault the boots were falling apart(my son was devastated to be treated like he was some reckless & negligent hooligan). Even other people in the store couldn’t believe that he was being so rude about it and agreed that it should at least last 30 days. And so, I will never return to this store again because they don’t reasonably stand behind their equipment. I understand that you have to draw the line somewhere, but less than 30 days? I have never been subjected to such rudeness at a store before and I will not support a store who is owned by someone who’s attitude seems to be that they are doing ME a favour by owning a store. It’s too bad really — the staff were all very nice and helpful and maybe the owner should take some lessons.

I went to Out of Bound to buy a ski jacket. To my surprise the brand I was looking to purchase cost a mini-fortune. I was greeted by an older gentleman by the name of Bill. Bill was very helpful. He explained in great detail the differences between the styles, qualities and prices. I left there to do some comparable shopping at other shops. I realized how vast his knowlege was, I returned quickly and bought the jacket. I would highly recommend this sports shop for anyone that is an intermediate to advanced skiier looking for quality items. Get Shoppin’!!!

I don’t really know what to make of this place. I went in here and I really wanted to buy some new powder skis but I was completely ignored. It’s not like I was I browsing, doing my own thing. I was at these skis, trying to get someone’s attention so that I could buy them. That’s usually what stores want, isn’t it? When I FINALLY got someone to help me, they made it clear that they weren’t happy about it. In fact, they were so blatantly annoyed that they had to help me that I didn’t even end up buying the skis. And I really wanted them! The only reason I’m not giving this place the lowest rating possible is because they do have great stock. They have a great selection. Unfortunately, their customer service is too bad for me to ever consider going back.
