VERY friendly place to go. Food had lots of flavor and was well presented. Food was not a buffet, but is served«buffet style» — small dishes on one platter and you take what you want from them. My husband had the vegan dish — not my thing. I had the beef dish, can’t remember the name, and it was very tasty — a little spicy for some, but just right for me. Everything is made by the owner. She is a very pleasant woman and will help you with your choices. Right on the corner so it is very easy to find — it is a house that has been partially converted. Very clean.

Love the hostess/owner. We always order vegan options which are always flavourful leaving one wanting more! The traditional Injera(bread) is gluten free and serves as a perfect scoop to savour every last drop! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and will take the time to guide you on your gastric adventure ! Enjoy enjoy! I promise you will be a returning guest :)

Eating at Olympia is a different kind of experience from the usual restaurant fare. It’s in a renovated house, and not a particularly nice house, in a not particularly nice area of the city, so you kind of feel unsure if this is really a restaurant and maybe like you should knock on the door when you walk up(not necessary). The owners are attentive and friendly and we felt like we were having lunch at our Ethiopian friends house rather than at a restaurant. I had a groupon so she just brought us out a bunch of stuff without asking what we wanted — it was all good, especially the mild lentil stew and the split peas. If you want everything to be prim and proper you won’t like this place, but if you enjoy Ethiopian cuisine and want a different kind of experience, I’d recommend trying it.

Nice little place! Glad they got some better signage. Otherwise, it’s not that easy to spot, with it being a house and all. It’s small, and the menu is small, but the flavors speak volumes. I wasn’t all that enthusiastic about the vegan buffet – I love my meat – but we went for it anyway and ordered a side dish of raw beef. Sorry, can’t remember the name of it, and probably couldn’t spell it anyway. I’m pleased and surprised by how much I enjoyed the buffet. Especially the potato stew and lentils! I ate LOTS of that! I think I would have liked the meat dish if it wasn’t quite so spicy. I couldn’t taste the beef. I’m not one who likes a lot of spice, so maybe that’s just about personal preferences. This place is a three for these reasons: The family serving us were friendly and sweet, but were so intent on educating us on ‘Teff’, their star ingredient, they’d forget drink orders. They were otherwise a little inattentive. We’d have to call them from the counter to get another beer or tea. Plus they kept the front door wide open, letting in the night’s chill and summer’s leftover bugs. I was cold, and something bit me. We kept having to wave away no-see-ums while we chatted. Having said that, this is the place I’ll be bringing my vegan sister to for her birthday. She’ll love it!

Had a buffet sample, and came back a few days later for a coffee ceremony they were holding for Ethiopian New Year. The food from the buffet(vegetarian and some chicken) was absolutely wonderful. Also a great meal for left-overs, as we had a LOT left between two of us. The chef/owner was super friendly both times I went, and it was a small but comfortable environment. Very nice to talk to and learn from. I’ll be back many times with my family.

I had lunch at Olympia today. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience. The place is tiny, but cute and clean. It is a converted house, and they have done a good job. We were welcomed warmly and the owner/chef was very helpful and chatty. Because it was lunch time, there was no buffet(starts at 4:00 pm), she offered us a platter type lunch. It came with the bread, 4 vegetarian dishes and we picked one meat dish. I would say, as did the chef, her specialty is her vegan dishes. The portions are quite small, but we still had a little to take home, and the bill came to roughly $ 40 including coffee. If you are looking for something different, give it a try!

It’s a very cute little place. Family owned and a pleasant change in the variety at the west end. The owners were very nice and let you take the buffet to go. It’s not as fancy as some other places, and the menu is small. But the food is satisfying for any Ethiopian food cravings.

Found this place through a Groupon deal and was told it was good for the vegan buffet. Upon making a reservation I was told they had made a mistake and it is only good for menu items only, which was also fine with me. When we arrived, the owner was very nice and very informative as to the menu items. To my surprise when we were ready to order, she had prepared a sample platter from the buffet table for each of us and told us this was our«deal». The food — 3 lentil stews, potato and cabbage with injera bread was good and not overly spicy. The potatoes were bland, but overall the food was very good

My boyfriend and I have had really good experiences in the past with Ethiopian food, and we saw that a new place had opened and we were really looking forward to going. It was a little tricky to find as its in a house. When we got in it was essentially empty, there was a female and male there, who I assume own the restaurant and that was it. My boyfriend and I chalked it up to being a new place with not a lot of traffic. We were greeted with kindness and sat at our table, which was hard to get in and out of. Then we were directed to the buffet. Now because there were not a lot of people around, the food didn’t look as fresh as maybe it should have, and parts of it were cold. There were lots of vegetarian options but not as many meat options as we would have liked. Some of the lentils didn’t look overly appetizing but we tried them anyway. The food was ok, I was not appalled but I doubt I will ever go back. The only thing I would recommend is the cake dessert. It is made in house, from what I understand, and was pretty good.

This place is a little hard to find because their signage isn’t great and it is in a old converted house so it is easy to miss that is a restaurant. Not much to look at but the place is clean, pleasant, and the food is incredible. Great service. I ate the buffet and enjoyed all of the dishes. I did fill up too quickly within injira bread but that is my fault. Family run, great food, relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

This restaurant is a cozy spot in a renovated house, not where one would expect a restaurant to be. The owner makes all the food fresh every day. She is friendly and helpful. The vegetarian buffet is delicious and good value; it’s difficult not to leave the place feeling stuffed. Meat dishes are also available on the menu, but we felt that there was plenty available in the buffet and it wasn’t necessary to order anything else.
