I’ve got about 15 of their custom shirts. Obviously they fit great, since they are custom tailored, but the fabrics are also top quality, and they do custom cuffs, collars and monograms.

Although I’ve never visited Maxwell’s in Edmonton(or Hong Kong for that matter), I have not missed one of their visits to Ontario in the last three years. Here’s how it goes: Maxwell’s staff will visit a local hotel and set up shop for a weekend/week. Customers visit their suite and pick out shirts from thousands of swatches and/or suits/jackets/overcoats from dozens of samples. Staff will take something like 25 – 30 measurements(including pictures of your natural stance, so they know how to drape the cloth). You pay and 6 – 10 weeks later(for shirts) or 8 – 12 weeks later(for suits) you receive your garments in the mail. 3 shirts = $ 150. I know some of you will say«$ 50 for a dress shirt?!», but you’d be paying $ 30 – 40 at Winners for a NICE dress shirt any way and these are custom fit. You pick the type of collar, french cuffs or not, monograms or not, etc. I purchased my 3-piece wedding suit from Maxwell’s and it has to be the most detailed article of clothing I own(eg. at the back of each pant leg, inside cuff at the hem, there is an extra piece of material stitched in, so as to avoid your shoes from wearing the pant cuff. Who does that!!!) I do believe they do tailored outfits for wimmens as well. Don’t let the website fool you — they be having classic and fashion-forward suit cuts to choose from. I just wish they had a Toronto office.
