Wow… this business does not fit in with the High Street friendliness and feeling of warmth you get from supporting local businesses. Man oh man, what a let down. I can’t say I’ve ever really shopped here before today. I’ve browsed through the store once or twice over the years, but today I went there for something very specific. I needed a tortilla press and their website had one listed for $ 30. I was browsing through the store, and waited patiently and the man working there was helping someone else. They do have a nice selection of unique items, and I would love to love this store, but I just can’t. When he pointed me to the tortilla press, I noticed it was priced at just under $ 50. I checked the website on my phone because I thought maybe I was crazy. But it was listed for $ 29.95 on the website. So I politely seeked confirmation… I showed the guy my phone and said«I found this one on your website, is that not the same one?» and he said«No, it’s not.». And that’s it. Seriously, they look exactly the same. He was packing up a small kitchen appliance for someone, so obviously he was busy, but I then asked«Do you not have this one?»… «No». I don’t know how to explain this man’s demeanour, and I hate to use this word… but he seemed kind of pretentious or arrogant. The press looked exactly like the one on the webpage, and it would have been nice if his answers weren’t so short. Perhaps he could have told me why this one was almost twice the cost of the identical one on their website? Maybe he would have had a sale. But I guess this business must be doing really well because they sure couldn’t be bothered with me. Really… I would have paid the extra $ 20 if he took time to at least tell me why this one was different, or didn’t make me feel unwelcome. When I left, I mentioned to my friend, that guy wasn’t too friendly. She’s been there more times than me and says he’s always like that. So I can’t even chalk this up to someone having an off day. I definitely will not be back. My friend thinks that guy might even be the owner… which is even more saddening if that’s true. Again, business must really be good for them, even with the Groat Road bridge closure. Unfortunately, I might have to order this item from amazon, but I’m going to check out Barb’s Kitchen first. I’ve never been there, but perhaps they will have what I’m looking for! Oh, and FYI… today at 2:24pm the website was updated with a tortilla press for $ 49.95 and no longer $ 29.95. I do give them props for updating their website so quickly.

For some odd reason, I was under the impression that Call the Kettle Black was actually a kitchen and home store. I was surprised when I walked in and no, it’s really, really just kitchen stuff. But it’s still kind of cool all the same. Imagine anything you could ever possibly need for your kitchen and Call The Kettle Black probably has it. From books to unique cooking tools, they really do have a great and interesting collection of cooking accessories in here. The staff member was very friendly when I walked in. She let me know that she could answer any questions I might have while I browsed, which was a nice touch. Next time I’m back on High Street(and I have a bit more cash in my pocket) I might splurge for something here!

Kettle black is a quaint little store tucked away at the edge of the 102nd ave happenings. I think it is one of my favorite kitchen/bath stores to browse through because they have curious little items that are always fun to look at. Kettle black has everything that could ever be wanted in a kitchen(yes, they do have créme brulée torches as well) and is a perfect place to visit if you’re looking to revamp your early ‘90s style kitchen items! As someone who’s always wanted to be a chef from a young age(and didn’t become one … don’t know why!), this store is my go-to place for some peace and serenity! Although I quite appreciate the smaller businesses, especially in a field like kitchenwares, I really feel that at the end of the day, even if someone’s looking for good quality permanent things to purchase, they’d end up going to The Bay or some other big store that covers a wider variety of choices in the field of kettles et al.

This store is great for anyone who enjoys being in their kitchen! They have products for experts or newbies, but the price can get up there. It is really nice to go into a store and find a bunch of different brands in one place. The store is small, but it sure can fit a lot in there. Everything feels better here, rather than all the things you can buy from Ikea or walmart. I love the kitchen aid products they offer here. If you are willing to spend some money, go to this store and you can spend hours looking at all the little things it has to offer.

Call the Kettle Black is a very interesting store. They have everything you could possibly want for your kitchen and more. For such a small store, their selection is superb. If you are looking for specialty items, such as a cappuccino machine, or just some cutlery for your new home, this is a great place to look. Keep in mind that it can get very pricey though. I found a red toaster that I absolutely loved — until I looked at the price tag. It was $ 349. Needless to say, I walked out toaster-less. I think that Call the Kettle Black would be a great place to register if you’re getting married. Just because I couldn’t afford my toaster, doesn’t mean I don’t still want it! There are a lot of great things to choose from — both specialty items and essentials– so I think it would be great. Also, if you have a chef in the family(professional or self-proclaimed), you might want to check out Call the Kettle Black for a Christmas gift. The staff are friendly and willing to help out so don’t be shy when it comes to questions either. And yes, they are open during the construction taking place right in front of their store. Don’t let that deter you! Go have a look. You won’t be disappointed!

Kettle black is one of my favourite stores in Edmonton. If the products sold here weren’t so expensive, I would visit more often. They sell all imaginable and unimaginable products for the kitchen and then some. The selection is truly impressive. Whether you are cooking a meal for a family and throwing a party, Kettle Black has got your back covered in terms of providing you with the best tools and gadgets to cook up a storm in the kitchen. The prices at Kettle Black range from $ 5 for a can opener to $ 700 for an espresso machine. I have had my eye on the beautiful cutlery, serving plates and crystal glassware for a while now. There are also french presses for coffee, decanters, place mats, pots and pans, and so on. Everything looks neat, modern and elegant, and would brighten up any kitchen or dining room. Kettle Black is one of those stores which make you realize that cooking and serving food is an art, and that to make art the right tools are of utter importance.

If you’re looking for great stocking stuffers for mom or want to customize your kitchen, Call the Kettle Black is the perfect place to shop. It’s an oasis filled with everything you could ever want for a top-knotch kitchen and cooking experience. I used to be perfectly happy with cheap dollar store or Ikea cutlery. One day when I am a fully adjusted adult I would love to have cutting boards, knife sets, can openers, popcorn bowls, salad servers, wine glass racks(list to be continued…) from a store like Call the Kettle Black. Cooking can feel like a chore, but shops like this make food preparation feel like an art or holy interaction. It’s a joy to browse and discover gadgets that you never knew existed, and fantasize about the dream kitchen that could.

Call the Kettle Black has everything you may need for your kitchen. It’s really a chef’s dream. It’s a small shop, but it’s packed with all kinds of kitchen gadgets, some of which I’ve no idea what they could be used for. I’m not one to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but I like to look at all the culinary inventions they’ve come up with over time. They’ve got fancy espresso machines, wine glass sets, plate sets, pots and pans, cookbooks, and those funny little gadgets that cut and press your garlic or your eggs. Pretty much anything you can imagine for your kitchen, they’ve got, and then some. Call the Kettle Black also carries items from well-known lines like Jamie Oliver and Vera Naturals from Vera Wang(I had no idea she made plates!). Everything was quite pricey, but maybe that’s how it normally is for kitchenware ??? While browsing the other day, I noticed a fellow customer purchasing some heavy duty kitchen equipment(I think they were pans). I think he was a chef because I overheard him discussing durability with the saleslady, and how he didn’t something that his staff could easily drop(I wasn’t eavesdropping, he was just talking really loud). So I guess this is where all the big chefs go for their tools, neat! P. S.: They also have a location in Riverbend Square.
