Great place to check out if you’re looking for an excursion outside of the city. We went recently so there was not as much stuff to see as we would anticipate if we came during the warmer months but had a great time. We stopped by the restaurant for a brunch(highly recommend). The servers were very friendly. The mains were all right, but the Saskatoon pie with the homemade Saskatoon Berry ice cream is die for. I slightly regret not picking up a pint of that ice cream at the shop on the way out, but hey, more the reason to go again next time! There was also a neat animal pen as well. Will come again in the summer!

Such a fun place! Lots to do here! If you like plants they have an amazing selection of succulents and other in door plants. The littler farmers market has some amazingly fresh veggies and fruits and obv lots of saskatoon berries! Quick tip for any one visiting, if there are people parking down the road on the way into the gate it doesn’t mean the main parking lot is full! so double check before parking far away! Bring good walking shoes! The restaurant is alright, If i was rating just the restaurant the rating would be lower for sure but the entire experience was allot of fun!

Looking for something different to do? Want to take Grandma out, but are tired of the same old restaurants and places? Come check out this gem! Only a short drive from the south of Calgary, Saskatoon Farms is a lovely cove of delicious food, scenery and gifts. The café has a Mexican food fusion made with fresh vegetables and baked goods. We split the veggies enchiladas so that we could have room for dessert. Portions were a good size for one or to share. All desserts included saskatoons in some way. The Apple Crisp was hot, sticky, and just right with the saskatoon ice cream. Looking for a unique gift? The store is full of them plus some unique pieces of furniture. Also, you can pick up homemade food, fresh baking, and straight from the garden vegetables. Make sure you walk around too as there is beautiful scenery of the valley. Can’t wait to go back!

Had such an amazing time out at the Saskatoon Farm yesterday! It was so great to see a U-pick in action. The whole layout and décor of the area is unreal! I loved the animal pen, the turkeys were a nice touch! If you are looking to escape the city for an evening filled with organics and happy people, then this place is for you!

What a wonderful hidden gem. We drove out from north Calgary today to check out the nursery. It took us 30 min(maybe I drive a tad over speed limit) from Country Hills Blvd. A beautiful drive! The nursery was not up and running yet. But we easily filled two hours browsing the wonderful home furniture and décor throughout many quaint buildings. If you are looking for a unique item for your home this is the place. The prices are reasonable for the décor you will find. After we browsed and purchased a few signs we had lunch. Absolutely one the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. I ordered the Country Biscuit Breakfast. It was delicious. Fresh biscuits topped with an omelette with peppers. Smothered in a wonderful sauce and cheese. Oh And bacon!!! We will definitely go back somewhat regularly.

I’ve been here for brunch/lunch several times. It’s a favorite for bringing out of town guests to. Their breakfasts are amazing, I particularly enjoy the eggs Benny on farmers biscuits, saskatoon berry scones, and hot chocolate. Also their lunch menu has mexican food and the server told me once that the chefs actually are from Mexico, so I tried a chimichanga there and it was very tasty. One of my few 5 seat ratings. Also love their gift shop, loads to explore. Haven’t had the chance to go in the summer yet and visit the u pick berries but I’d like to!

Love, love, LOVE this place. Such a unique and pretty spot for a morning of browsing and delicious food. I had stopped in on a Saturday afternoon not long ago, but with a wedding going on and the time of year, it was nearly impossible to get a parking spot and forget about getting a seat in the café without waiting for over an hour, so we just browsed around a bit and left. Went back this Sunday for breakfast(made sure to get there EARLY) and it was delicious. The food is amazing and comes out really quickly. The staff are helpful and friendly. We got there around 9:30 and left at 11, by the time we were pulling out it was a total zoo again, so I do recommend getting there early in the morning to avoid the crowds and long waits.

I did the U-pick today for Saskatoons, and the Cherries will be ready to pick next week you guys! I say go! It is not a long drive, picking berries is fun(minus when you get bugs down your shirt) but it is fun to try and find the fullest branches and you feel like you hit the mother load! I had to hurry back into the city to take a shower and get ready for work in the evening so I didn’t get to eat anything out there. However, we brought Coconut icecream home and my family tells me it’s delicious! It’s made with cream so I can’t eat it but they all raved about it! The Saskatoons I have been munching on ALLDAY! They make a great treat when you freeze them and snack on them in this heat! I also juiced some today and the juice turned out very well. It’s a berry that isn’t too sweet which is what I really love about it. I will return next week to pick some Cherries, and explore the rest of the Farm. It is a very whimsical kind of place and I really enjoyed the visit. We managed to fill 2 buckets in about an hour and a half give or take the water breaks. It’s also an activity great for kids and families. There was a lot of families there today and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Really beautiful place to go on a Sunday for brunch with the family… This is a good place to do something different. The Saskatoon pie is delicious, the eggs Benedicts are great too… Also, the farm is very cool, with the view of the river and all kind of flowers they have… I had a good time there, and I would go back to enjoy some family time…

aMAHzing!!! Couple of my girls and I went here on the weekend, as my friend works part time there and raved how amazing this place was. And she wasn’t joking. Beautiful drive out there, was a gorgeous morning. The u-pick was closed for the season but we were on a mission for breaky and browsing. The steamed chai(with almond milk) was to die for! The best I’ve ever had. And for breaky I had a build your own omelet. Which was great too. And our food came out insanely quick which was appreciated as we were hungry! Lots of fresh produce and trinkets galore! You could spend hours, even days out there. I also picked up a fresh baked Saskatoon berry pie for the hubs, as it was a girls day and he likes pie. It was gone within two days. I can’t wait to go back out.

Go there on a weekend, enjoy a fantastic brunch, then go for fruit picking, buy fresh vegetables, get some awesome ice cream and don’t forget to walk to the end where you have the view of the valley to take beautiful pictures! The brunch was really good, the servers were professional and friendly. They accommodated all our«special requests» and managed to keep a big group happy. I was impressed. the price was very reasonable as well. Tip 1-: If you are a big group, be at the brunch early so you don’t have to wait. It’s a pretty big place, but sure gets crowded! Tip 2-: If it’s your first time going there, use a reliable GPS device, or you will get lost! the sign on Hwy-2 can’t be any smaller!

We’ve gone out here quite a few times and we just love it! Love walking around and checking out all the random art all over their walls, furniture, and other neat items :) But, for a client of mine(a senior) this was her first time. She was sad and needed a pick me up so I took her here for a drive and lunch and she absolutely fell in love with the place. We toured around the store part admiring all the yummy treats as well as products. We enjoyed our lunch, she had a spring salad and bun with Saskatoon berry vinaigrette and I had the buffalo barley soup and bun– which was amazing! Loved the atmosphere and the service was wonderful!

I went here with my mom on a sunny Saturday Afternoon. The drive from Calgary was surprisingly short when I expected it to be a little long. Make sure you keep to the left lane because it’s a left turn from the highway your making. As we drove into the farm, the immediate charm of the place instantly comes through as soon as we drove through the gate. Everything else in it was the same– the windmill, statues, market buildings, and rows of plants/flowers excited the 60 year old tea-drinking gardening hermit inside of me Inside were handcrafted items/paintings that would be perfect for that empty dull space at home. Fortunately I have none because I’m a pack rat so I didn’t buy anything. Finally the purpose of the visit, the café. Right from the beginning I must say this is worth the visit alone. I had the buffalo burger and my mom had their specialty quiche. The burger was cooked to juicy consistency and having tried a bit of the quiche, it was delictaMUNDO. Afterwards we had the Saskatoon pie and churros(dessert special of the day). Both equally amazing desserts served with a fruit sorbet. The prices were fair and comparable to many of Calgary’s great diners/cafes. I’m quite surprised that this place has very little attention drawn to it. Soweet, I wanted to write a review without having to use the word«gem» as a description… wait a minute

How is it possible there are no reviews for this gem? Saskatoon Farm has a lot going on: Nursery(flowers and plants), u-pick, art, furniture, gifts, jewellery, crafts, bakery, ice cream stand, and café. I first got turned onto SF by a friend who was raving about their hanging plant baskets. So glad I finally went. Their plants are great. You sort of wander around the greenhouses and sheds(mind the pig and the free roaming chickens) and pick up what you want. They provide wagons for those(like me) who end up with many plants. They have flowers, shrubs, trees, you name it. Their buildings are an eclectic(but purpose built) set of old fashioned looking fronts So quaint. Inside, you can wander all over the place — up the stairs, down the stairs, nooks and crannies — looking at furniture, art, knick knacks, you name it. The café is always busy. The food is just okay. Burgers, sandwiches, soups. However, it’s decent and sitting on their patio, wine in hand, watching the chickens peck around the flowers is pretty neat. Get there early: The parking lots get super full and you might have to walk a ways. Also, don’t wear heels, the ground is a bit uneven on the pathways. I saw a couple of trying– to– look –cool teenage girls texting and walking and ending up on their butts. If you’ve already taken guests to Banff, Drumheller and whatever else, Saskatoon Farm is an excellent day trip(I know, I know, Okotoks isn’t THAT far). But you can certainly spend an hour or two looking around and having lunch. I haven’t tried the u-pick, but plan to this summer. Oh and be sure and keep an eagle eye on the road for the sign(small one) to turn off the highway. It’s super easy to miss it.
