Wyse Buys Trading

Wyse Buys has a great concept and you would think judging by the exterior you might get a deal on something.
My experience with these kinds of stores has not be good. I find most places that sell second hand appliances and furniture do not give a spectacular deal. This place is no exception.
I know, everyone is on a budget, I think you can do better for selection and price on Kijiji.

In the second-​hand furniture and appliance business, cash is king. Unfortunately, Wyse Buys wants too much cash for significantly dated items.
We popped into Wyse Buys one day when we were looking to outfit a new home with appliances. We had thought we’d be able to score some used appliances for under a couple hundred dollars. Were we surprised!
Prices at Wyse Buys are only barely below what new appliances will run you brand-​new. We were able to buy new stainless steel appliances for relatively little more than what the used machines were.
In addition, the stoves and fridges offered at Wyse Buys were all very out-​of-​date and rather dingy looking.
Upstairs, Wyse Buys sells furniture and although we weren’t in the market for furniture that day, I scoped it out anyways to see if there was a deal of the century to be had. Sadly, no. Again, much was dated and what was serviceable was priced almost as high as a new sofa or chair would cost, especially if you shop the bargain basement or good sales.
Our verdict? Give Wyse Buys a wide berth.

Wyse Buys specializes in selling second hand furniture. Located in downtown Dartmouth, the furniture is spread throughout two floors with sofas, chairs, coffee tables, TV and dining room tables upstairs and all of the appliances downstairs. I was only there on one occasion and didn’t purchase anything. The furniture seemed to be priced at fair prices and the service wasn’t bad. However, if you are shopping for a really great deal (as I tend to do), than you may want to check and compare with Kijiji before making any purchases.
