Very hearty pizza. Great crust, solid ingredients, good taste and lots of cheese. Two slices and you’re done, and Donair sauce on the side is a must.

having grown up in Dartmouth, I think I know a few things about donairs and Robert’s is as bad as it gets. worse than Pizza Delight. they boil it or something so there’s no taste and has the consistency of something that’s already been chewed. but people rave about it, so, sucker I am, I end up back there every few years. it’s still the same old inedible crap. maybe Robert’s fans are disgusting pigs with pallets as delicate as a leather belt, maybe they just like the spectacle of a football sized donair, maybe they just enjoy chewing and swallowing. don’t go there. especially if this would be your first donair experience.

I’ve only had their donair and only once, me and a few other people ordered the(aptly named) «belly buster» donair. Now in my opinion as a donair connoisseur it was a matter of quantity over quality, not that it was bad, just average but a gosh darn lot. How much is «a lot» you may wonder, with vegetables and sauce on the side(so we’re just talking meat and pita) it was over five pounds!

I ordered a chicken shwarma wrap from them one night when I was super hungry, Shwarmas being my favorite food, I‘m not overly picky with them, because I just Lebanese food in general. The delivery was quick, and they were polite. The shwarma however, wasn‘t so great. It was big, and had a lot of filling but the quality of the meat was just lacking. and the wrap wasn‘t even a pita. It tasted like something I would have eaten if I tried making shwarma myself at home. and I‘m no cook. Could have been a lot better.

The only place in Nova Scotia to come for Donairs. Huge portion sizes, so keep that in mind when ordering. There isn’t much seating however, and don’t let the exterior scare you away. The food is very much worth it! If you’re used to store bought Donairs with thin meat this isn’t the place for you– meat is hand cut here –thick and spicy. Just the way it should be.

People have been raving about Robert’s donairs forever and a friend and I went there a few years ago. Enjoyed the donair immensely — they were HUGE! Fast forward a few years. I went there yesterday at lunch time and bought a small donair. It was terrible. The meat was more like meatloaf and was sliced quite thick. I won’t buy another one there.

Robert’s is known of by anyone who calls themselves a donair fan and has the means to get on the Darkside of the bridge. I used to get donairs from Roberts during university and well let’s just say that was long before Unilocal was around. I remembered the size being impressive but not much about the taste. I found myself in Dartmouth around lunchtime recently and decided to give them an updated try. Being well aware of their size I got a small. Being starved, I tucked in right away. Other than the size, it was unremarkable other being not very good. The meat was bland and a not very attractive in appearance: a light brown-greyish colour; Almost like it was boiled. I like it when places give it a good treatment on the grill before serving. It wasn’t particularly spicy and there was a weird overtone of oregano which I’ve never had in a donair before. I’d give these guys a 10⁄10 for the quantity, but the 3⁄10 for taste means it might be close to another two decades before I am back.

SUPER! Been there a couple of times and will definitely keep going. Donair servings are freaking huge! Its not that easy for an average person to finish up a small size Donair. Quality is perfect and prices cheap. Although I don’t recommend eating-in in a hot summer day as you’ll feel you are are in a sauna room. Other than that everything is awesome

over 15 yrs ago, I live a stones throw from this place. The donair and pizza was a Friday night staple in my home. These days i live too far away for deliveries, but when i am in this end of town its the only place I will eat. They just don’t make them like this anymore. Hand made, fresh ingredients, and the toppings piled on so thick you don’t have to ask for extra cheese. The price is still tops. Especially for the shire amount and quality of the product. I will be ordering from this place 15 yrs from now still if I have my way.

Was craving a tasty donair after our very own CM mentioned he was curious about the best. I’m going against the grain here, but I stand by my 1 star rating. Firmly. I went in looking for a donair and nothing else. So I ordered a medium(which could easily feed 2 people, maybe even 3 — really). The best thing about my donair was the bread — seriously. A little bit wet and a little crispy, it was done just right. Unfortunately that’s the best and only good thing about my donair. I should point out that I used to work 3 different pizza places for about 6 years — and I used to eat pizza & donairs all the time — I never got sick of’em. So my palate for this kind of food is a bit biased. It might’ve been an off day or maybe everyone that was saying it’s the best was true and there might’ve been management/staff/cook/recipe changes. All I know, is the donair that I just had a couple mouthfuls of 20 minutes ago was by far the worst donair I’ve ever tasted. It was bland, and warmed up — it didn’t have that crispy slightly red look to it like it was off the grill — I honestly think it was boiled? that’s what it tasted like. No flavour but still warm and no flat grill evidence. Either way, portions were huge, too bad it’s a tale of quantity over quality.

A Superbowl tradition — TV, football and enough donair to feed a small African country — can’t wait til February 21st, 2011!

WOW when they told me this is the home of the largest Donair they were not kidding. Located on Windmill road Roberts has been around for years and I can see why. Anything from Subs to wraps with a mixture of toppings to Hot chicken wing and garlic fingers the menu is well stacked with a mixture of everything. Now for the Donair from S, M, L to Super to what they call Belly Buster and it will do just that. These are good, tasty and spicy. Sauce is not to tangy. Prices are reasonable ranging from $ 8-$ 20 for the buster. When you are over in Dartmouth stop by but bring you appetite.

Robert’s is a local spot to grab a Pizza or Donair. I go here for the Donairs. They give huge portions and they are fantastic! I have not tried the pizza, so can not help you there. But if you are a Donair lover, try this, you will like it.

I want to stress one thing here: Large portion size. A lot of people, including myself, often underestimate portion size, especially when they can eat a lot. Let me be clear here: The portion sizes at Roberts are HUGE. Full stop. The large donair fed me for 3 meals, and every time I was absolutely stuffed and ready to slip into a meat coma. My girlfriend’s large donair will probably feed her every day for a week. If you get a chance, go on YouTube and look up the Robert’s Belly Buster, it is truly an epic donair. Often when places have huge portion sizes, it’s either really pricey or the quality is crap. Not so with Robert’s: the price is VERY reasonable, and the quality is very, very good — the best so far in my limited donair experience. The large chunks of sliced beef are spicy, and it’s not oversauced like so many other donairs. there’s just enough sweet donair sauce to compliment the savoury spiciness of the beef, onions, and tomatoes. I will definitely be ordering from Robert’s again. Next time I think I’m going to order the large donair and ask for extra pitas so I can build my own.
