Let’s deal with the bad up front: when you walk in, this place doesn’t scream «clean and new.»
But deal with it because the staff are amazingly friendly. It’s a small family run-​business and everyone who works there seems invested in making sure you have a good experience and get what you need.
While the layout can be a bit odd at times (and it shifts constantly), there’s a good selection of snacks and drinks.

It seemed a little strange to see a Kwik-​Way in the middle of Portland St. I usually see them as corner stores in an area.
But there it was bright and bold Jakes Kwik-​Way. It seems to have everything as the corner store for the neighbourhood.
They have all the basics, plus video rentals, laundry mat on one side as well. It is larger than it appears from the outside. Great to pick up last minute items.
