The interior of the hotel is great and the location within Dartmouth Crossing, while outside of Halifax proper, puts some dining and drinking options within walking distance. I didn’t test the pool but a full size water slide looks like it would be great fun for the kids. The reason I give it three stars is that the parking spaces are absurdly small. When the hotel is not busy, it’s not a problem. However, when we came back one night, every spot was filled or unusable because the spaces are so narrow that SUVs and trucks do not fit and end up taking two spaces. There’s no shortage of land around the hotel so to have laid out the parking lot so poorly is odd.

This hotel has gone from a gem to a disappointment. Stairs are the dirtiest I have ever seen in a hotel. A broom and mop would do wonders to improve their image. Chairs in room 201 need replacing as the are worn out… pleather doesn’t look nice. Even more shocking is the condition of the four chairs in the lobby. Absolutely worn out. This place needs to spend a few dollars to show care of ownership and maybe a simple walk through from management.

Free parking. Free breakfast. Very friendly service. Indoor pool/fitness centre. Rooms are quite nice. Obviously nothing too fancy, but for the price, everything is just very comfortable. Not giving a 5 star because breakfast was very mediocre… If not a bit appalling(eggs…). But it’s free! who cares?

Lovely assortment of teas & coffee to help you defrost during that cold Halifax winter. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I’m glad my work made me stay here! The water slide looks really fun too. Next time I’m bringing my swimming trunks!

I love Hampton Inn! Wherever I go, I always first look into staying at a Hampton. == The Perks == * Newly built so the décor is quite modern * Rooms are very spacious * Big bathtub in rooms * Swimming pool and hot tub(don’t forget your bathing suit like I did!!) * Free breakfast(both hot and cold) * Wi-Fi * Within walking distance from restaurants and coffee shops(Starbucks, Tim Horton) * Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful * Heaps of parking – The Drawbacks – * You’re outside of Halifax … HOWEVER, with a rental car, it’s very easy to drive down to downtown Halifax; there is a toll, but it’s only $ 1 * A lot of families with children who may or may not have ever been on a vacation in their life A solid 5 star.

Stay at this hotel at least once! It’s an amazing property. A brand new building and a great team. The hotel is beautiful. There is a giant pool and waterslide with 2 hot tubs and a sitting area. The rooms are large and spacious and the grand room is, well, grand. Hot buffet breakfast tops your stay! Take a stab at making your own waffles. It’s close to the great shop in Dartmouth Crossing and very close to downtown. Tip– if you are going to spend a romantic night with your partner, don’t expect it to be a quiet pool/hottub experience. The place is teeming with excited children. Try a week night for that. The best part about the Hampton is not the facilities though; it’s the people. They are so friendly and inviting.
