Took the family and all three of us had Burrito bowls, the large ones! Wow, everything is just so good. I can’t believe even my 14 year old finished hers… Did I mention they are huge? I never thought a mobile restaurant could ever be this good, and there are so many options I doubt you could get the same bowl twice even if you were trying to. Just guessing what you had the last time is eat impossible with all the options. Love it!

Tried this in Bayers Lake location. Nothing but Awesome. Unique and fun experience. Food was fantastic. HAd the 3 Tacos and also ordered the burrito bowl salad. One of my new favourite places to get some fast and fresh quality food. Will be back.

Finally got around to trying the Gecko Bus about a month ago(I’m a little behind in writing reviews). I had a chicken burrito in a flaky delicious tortilla bowl and I loved every bite. Everything was really fresh and high quality and the service was friendly and helpful. I haven’t even had breakfast yet and writing this has me craving another one of those chicken burrito bowls, mmmmmm.

It is hard to miss it: a bright green school bus that is painted and sculpted to look like a giant gecko. The Gecko Bus is the food truck offshoot of Habaneros Taco Bar. Although it is listed above with a Dartmouth addy, these days the giant lizard is often parked in front of the Bayer’s Lake Kent. In three words The Gecko Bus is fresh, freaky and fantastic. I always get the taco trio, filled with spicy beef on corn shells. I love that they have flavoured sour cream(srirachi even!) and that their hot sauce is true to its word and will make your mouth tingle. I keep meaning to try the burrito bowls but I always end up going with old faithful. I think the taco trio runs just under $ 8. They are small tacos so three are a perfect lunch for me and I have a pretty big appetite. One thing, the corn shells get soggy pretty quickly so get the soft tacos if you need to take them on a long trip or they will fall apart when you eat them. I only wished they had the slow-cooked beef barbacoa that they do at the Habanero store locations. And just a heads up that they only take cash on the bus!

Yippee, the Gecko Bus visited Dal this week and it was great to have a different food choice on campus. I wish more food trucks would visit the university. The burrito salad bowl will pulled pork was awesome! Although I would describe it as a burrito bowl with lettuce, tomato etc. on top. A small is enough to fill you up for lunch.

Oh so good and fresh. The Gecko bus has been parking outside of my work in Bayers Lake for awhile now and I finally made it down and boy was it worth the wait. It can get pretty busy at lunchtimes so it may not be a great choice if you’re on a 30 minute break, but I lucked out the other day and only had one person ahead of me. Considering they make everything fresh to order service was pretty quick. It was also very helpful and friendly. I ordered the 3 tacos for 8ish$ plus tax. You get a choice of chicken, beef or pork. I just chose all three. There is quite a selection for toppings and I had cheese, pico de gallo, green onions and cilantro on everthing. I tried the corn salsa on the chicken and medium on the other two. The staff is great at recommending pairings and I wisely took their advice on the sour cream sauces and had a different sauce to match each taco. All in all it was a great experience and fantastic lunch for about 10 $. My chief complaint was having to wolf it down on a break, I would have liked the time to enjoy it. I will definitely be going back. I haven’t tried them yet, but I hear the pickled red onions are a must have.

8 dollars something for 3 awesome tacos!!! I can’t wait until these guys start coming closer to downtown. The not spicy tacos were full of flavor as there a zillion things to choose to put on the taco. With so many vegetable choices it must end up being quite healthy. On one of my tacos I chose some potent choices and basically wept through this delicious but hot taco. It is different that you go inside. A friend of mine didn’t know that it was a taco truck because it didn’t have the classic side opening. I must thank the people who have made this as it adds a nice splash of design and color to what is typically a fairly drab white van style.
