We came here for lunch. The price isn’t too bad but it does reflect in the choices on the menu. In terms of selection, I found it to be limited. But it is lunch menu so that could be why. I much prefer the all you can eat in downtown since they have a BBQ section. It seems like a good spot if you are in the area but I wouldn’t be searching this place out.

Please look at @velvted on instagram for reference photo. Today, my family went out for lunch at an all you can eat sushi joint called, «Sui Sha Ya,» in Coquitlam. First off, let me say that the service was good; the only good experience we got out of this restaurant. It was easy to catch a severs attention and they were polite. Sui Sha Ya has a order system where you write the number of pieces of sushi you would like at the table. You can order as little as one or as much as 20. As you can see from this picture, we ordered 2 pieces of a dynamite roll. This is exactly what we received. They had served us two pieces like we asked but both were falling apart and stacked up on each other. The other sushi we had received looked a lot like the piece on the right; loose with the fillings seperate from the nori and rice. But this, was absolutely not acceptable. The first item that we had received at the restaurant was a plate of 5 gyozas. It came to our table cold. We had the server take it back saying it was cold. She was very polite and brought it back. We looked at the plate again and the 4 gyozas(minus the one we had taken a bite out of,) was back but stuck to each other. It had obviously been microwaved. We couldnt rip apart the gyozas without tearing their skin. We took another bite and the taste was off. I don’t know if it was just that it tasted bad or if the food had gone bad. Either way, we did not finish it. My brother had if the«seafood tempura» selection on the menu was a shrimp. The waiter answered it was not and that it was a fish. We asked, «what kind of fish?» He said, «just a fish.» Right. Towards the eld we had, ordered a few other items like, sweet potato tempura and salmon maki rolls but they did not come even after 15 minutes. We left the restaurant. The price for the lunch all you can eat was $ 14.50 per person. In my opinion, for what we got, this was definitely not worth the amount we paid. I advise people to read reviews like this before deciding to eat at any restaurants. Of course, you should form your own opinions but be aware of what you are getting yourself into. Myself on the other hand, did not read up on the quality of this place before comming and am now paying for the price.

This is one of my favourite all you can eat sashimi and sushi place since the one in Metrotown closed and turned in to a Japanese noodle Resturant. The only thing is they had an deluxe menu. They don’t offer that here. But I have been coming here off and on for years now. They are always busy on Fridays and weekends and the food has been fresh along with decent service. Love the sashimi, beef Tataki, and eel the rest of the other food is just bonus. You really can’t do better for the price.

All you can eat $ 25.95 Not bad for the price. It’s a good place to mark what you want and try different things. We enjoy the salmon, beef ribs, tempura, maki rolls, and yam fries. It’s our go to place when you just want to indulge and have some hot tea or sake, chill, and eat again.

I been going to this place for 15 years when they were even at their old location. I know exactly what I want every time I go for the lunch all you can eat. Recently they raised their prices. Service has always been sub par like what others have said. Grumpy employees who do not smile. Being a long term and loyal customer you would figure they would remember you after a 100 to 200 visits. Guess not. My most recent visit I wanted something because my GF and I were busy with life and I thought this was perfect. Well as we got their and sat down the long time guy server already had a jug of water for me so great he remembers me. But after that it all went downhill and fast. We got their at 1:45pm. They stop serving at 2:30pm and last call was 2:15pm. We ordered our first set of food. I asked several times for napkins and a fork. Felt like they acknowledged then forgot. Then that tall, long hair server guy grumpy as can be kept hounding us at 1:55 then 2:03 to make our second order. I said could you come back at 2:15. Both my GF and I saying like WTF. I told him that he was pissing us off. He replied back saying he too was pissed off. Like really. I asked to speak to the manager which is the long time employee who does remember me. So screwed up because I asked her about that. You don’t remember your regulars wow pretty bad. We had a lengthy argument and that male employee came into the argument also. I was in shock because everyone in the place could hear us. Felt like walking out I was so pissed off and disgusted with those jackasses. Never going back now. Time to find a new all-you-can-eat sushi place nearby. Anyone know any good ones. Thanx

Went to Sui Sha Ya on Monday night for the first time in many years. It used to be a fantastic spot for sushi. Sadly, there has been a drastic decline in both service and food. The food was just pretty average — my friend and I had the all-you-can-eat, which at $ 25, I guess is a decent value for the amount of food we had, but it’s definitely not the best AYCE I’ve had. We tried a good variety of food; tempura, sashimi, nigiri sushi, aburi sushi(not great), gyoza, gomae, miso soup, yakitori, beef tataki, chicken karaage, edamame, short ribs, agedashi tofu, beef udon, and a few types rolls as well. Our food was brought to us by grumpy employees who never smiled. They did not announce what they were serving, and we had to ask a couple of times«what is this?» when they set it down. Most items are recognizable, of course, but the aburi sushi looked much different from any I’ve had previously. Not recommended, either. I probably won’t return.

This is a huge nice restaurant but by far is NOT the best or average sushi! My cousins, bf, and I had dined here on a Friday morning, it was not pleasant. We were honestly eating just to be eating. They charged us for a .45 cents for a lemon slice that we didn’t even ask for, along with other sushi that we didn’t order. WTH? Very poor service! Non speaking English people took,

A lot of people seem to harp on this place, but its not actually that bad. You really have to know what you’re going for, and what you expect. Sui Sha Ya is for a different kind of sushi experience, and their dinner buffet is the real gem of this place what I recommend. Five stars! If you like a lot of different dishes, want a chance to try different things and really choose how much you are getting of each individual item this is really what you want! I don’t recommend the lunch buffet however, it isn’t as extensive or as good as the dinner. The quality of sushi is great, the service isn’t over the top, but they get you your orders and they rarely make mistakes. Sui Sha Ya is also one of the few places that does Aburi, and some of the best aburi I’ve ever had! So I’d you want a different sushi experience, want to broaden your sushi palette and try things besides rolls, hive sui sha ya a chance! I never regret it, and it is a favourite of my wife and I.

This is the worst all-you-can-eat sushi I’ve ever had. They over pack the sushi with rice to fill you up. Not to mention the rice is not even well cooked. Everything on the menu taste mediocre to disgusting. I just can’t bring myself to eat there again. I literally feel like I’m paying to eat garbage.

Today was the second time I visited this place. Food is ok but the service… horrible, horrible, horrible! I overlooked it the first visit. Today’s visit the service was worse! When we went up to pay, my husband said«hello» to the cashier and she didn’t even bother to look at him. So I Saudi«hello». Again, nothing! Her name is Sandy. Horrible personality and she shouldn’t be working in the front with that attitude. She should be working in the ack as a dish washer so she didn’t have to interact with the public! Won’t be returning!

The best avocado rolls, yam rolls, and yakiudon I have ever tasted. It is also very friendly on the wallet. The service is horrific, and I recommend coming here when there won’t be a lot of people.

Get the gyoza and tempura! Totally drool worthy! Don’t forget to ask for gyoza sauce too. We ordered a mountain of tempura and gyozas, not to mention the gomae, ebi sunomono, teriyaki chicken and salmon, sashimi, chicken skewers, fried scallops and aged tofu! Our server did not flinch and our food came FAST and HOT! Two of my favourite ways to enjoy food! We arrived just before 6PM on a Saturday night. Round two included 10 more gyoza and not a piece was missed! My first time here and everything was tasty. I was in AYCE heaven. Two can dine for $ 42.00 including taxes. Good deal for the amount of food we devoured… Next time I might even try the sushi!

I come here often but this time was absolutely fabulous! My fiancé and I had the best meal that we’ve ever had here. All-you-can-eat sushi was served quickly, the hot dishes were piping hot, and the sushi was fresher than ever. The oil tasted very clean, the oil they use to deep fry their food. We were both extremely happy with this meal. It’s almost as though they have upgraded their quality of food and service. Very very good! Especially for $ 13 per person!

This place is definitely under-rated. It’s exactly as expected. Decent food, nothing special for service, but lots of variety and pretty consistent food. The ordering for all you can eat is set up by piece, so one order equals one piece. The beef tataki is delicious, so I always get my money’s worth by ordering lots of it.

I don’t get the negative reviews on here, this place is great, their food is always fresh and you can order exactly what you want and as much of it has you want, I hate going into sushi restaurants and always having to eat their pre chosen combinations, the people are friendly enough, I don’t need them to do a song and dance for me, they just need to bring me my food! How hard is that? There is absolutely no reason to not eat here. I personally love this place almost every Monday for lunch.

I kept coming here for the longest time despite the awful, unfriendly staff because the all-you-can-eat food was good. I’ve never had a problem with the quality of food. I’ve noticed in my years of patronizing this store that you don’t always receive the amount of food you order. It’s as if they police your servings for you. You can order two California rolls but you’re likely to only get one. We came recently and saw the«new management» sign on the door and became hopeful that things had changed. They had but not for the better. The staff are all exactly the same. The only thing that has changed are the portions. Another reviewer(Kevin) was correct: order one California roll and get one PIECE. Not one roll. You now have to order three times as much and you still only receive a fraction of the amount you order. I have patronized this establishment for the last time.
