Friendly owner and waitresses; the phở are good although the prices are slightly higher than others. The restaurant is kind of clean as well in my opinion. The tastes of the dishes are not too rich or like other places that seem to add much MSG. Overall I enjoy the experience in this restaurant and I would go back again whenever I want to eat Vietnamese cruisine.

great place to eat! it is busy most nights and has fast & efficient service. I love their salad rolls & the number 9 noodle soup … just with rare beef slices. One comment, I wish they would add more beef balls. Sometimes, I only see one or two beef balls in my soup… I’d hope to see more! however, good prices & good food :)

After my Boxing Day haul at Coquitlam Centre Mall, my family and I went over to Phở Phu Thinh for late lunch. It’s the Vietnamese restaurant beside Copa Café in Coquitlam. I felt like having phở since it was a cold day so I ordered a #12 large. It had sliced rare beef, well done flank, and tripe. I really liked the broth actually. It had a cleaner and lighter flavour compared to other phở places in the area such as Delicious Phở. The noodles and beef weren’t bad either. However, when I was trying out the tripe, I noticed that there was a piece of plastic around it! I was already more than halfway through my meal when I noticed this and showed it to the owner. He was very apologetic and brought out a new order for me but I wish they had just comped the meal instead since I was already pretty full. I ended up finishing it anyways(with some help). Other than my little plastic tripe incident, the food was good. The service could definitely be improved though. One of our servers was not friendly at all and we felt rushed to leave right away. :( Food — 7⁄10 Service — 6.5÷10 Ambience — 7⁄10 Value — 9⁄10

My husband and I have come here a couple times when we were in the mood for Vietnamese in the Tri-cities. Phở Phu Thinh is just across the street from Coquitlam Centre in a little plaza, next to a small Asian grocery store. The restaurant is clean and has fancier décor compared to your average Vietnamese restaurant. I always get the House Special. Portions are well sized. I would only say that they could probably afford to add an extra beef ball in the phở(side note: I just read the take-out menu and they describe the House Special Phở as having rare sliced beef, well done flank, fatty flank, soft tendon, tripes, & beef ball. I guess they meant singular beef ball quite literally). Service was friendly enough. I haven’t been here for dinner, but lunch time gets pretty busy here. If you ask whether phở in the suburbs is comparable to the mom and pop joints in Vancouver’s Little Saigon I’d say it does it a pretty good job. It hits the spot. I would come back here to try their bun bo hue, it looks spicy.

We were looking a decent Phở place other than the chain restaurants such as Phở 99, which in my opinion very over priced for what you get. We found this place thanks to Unilocal and positive reviews. We took the whole family to get a decent consensus opinion and it seems that everyone loved it. We all ordered the Phở and was very satisfied. This will now be our only Phở restaurant in Coquitlam/Port Moody. However, service was just okay. We normally don’t expect much in terms of service in Asian restaurants anyways. So if you keep that in mind, it will be just fine.

I was surprised how clean and new looking this resto is. Service was good and accommodating. Phở was pretty good but the bun Bo hue did not come with its complementary veggies.

Hidden little Vietnamese place in a strip mall in Coquitlam. After work I was craving some rice and meat. I checked Unilocal and found this Vietnamese restaurant, and I’m glad I did. My husband likes phở so thats what he usually orders. Tasted the broth wasn’t bad(I generally don’t order Phở) I opted for the pork lemon grass with spring rolls and rice. It tasted great and hit the spot. Good portions. We arrived around 5pm early dinner place was still pretty slow. The place was nice, clean, with lots of seating. The server was really nice. Overall I would come back here.

This is my second best phở place(the other one is in Chilliwack so doesn’t count), and believe me, I’ve tried a few and even made a few. Delicious broth, not too salty, and a generous bowl with all the fresh toppings I love. I always order a little extra meat for my small bowl. The noodles are so/so but still good. Hubby loves the spring rolls and I always seem to end up having one because I just can’t resist. Service is fast, efficient and not fussy. The two of us can eat ourselves stupid for under 30 bucks. Hell ya. Cheap, good, clean and fast. I shouldn’t even tell you because I’ll never get a table, but this is a little secret. You won’t go wrong.

Best phở place ever! Amazing chicken wings! Like AMAZING! Super super clean which never happens at a phở place, not to mention the peanut sauce is made to perfection. Service is hit or miss but I mean, compared to every single phở place it’s a full 5 star service! Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have phở

Only phở place I’ll go to in Coquitlam. Clean, great food and great people! The phở here is hot and filling. The broth sits much closer to northern style phở which I prefer because its not as sweet. If I’m not feeling phở I love 37a which has the meat Patty on the vermicelli bowl. So good and you can’t find it at a lot of other phở restaurants. Their sandwiches are great too, with some yummy chewy bread gah. The pricing for the sandwich makes a great cheap lunch meal.

Love their food and services. Always great customer service. Food is great always. The best thing I like is the quality of service they provide is always beyond what you paid for. I am a regular here. The only thing I would change is that the cell phone signal is very week. I never have reception.

I like this place for the taste and cleanliness but not the service. I don’t expect friendliness but I would like to feel like my money is worth spending here. The waitress had made a mistake and emptied our table while I was at the cashier ordering for take out in the middle of my meal. I can understand this happening but I did not appreciate how the manager/owner? handled the situation. To make things short, he just gave a very unfriendly attitude because he was under the impression that I wanted to void the order the waitress had taken away before I was even halfway done. I know it’s tough for a growing business to lose a few dollars but this was a mistake on the restaurant’s part and he could have been more accommodating. In the end, he did void the order that was thrown out but not without having a sour attitude about it. It was clear that he was more about the dollars lost than customer service. Another waitress, presumably his wife, talked angrily in their language to him while he was in the process of all this. Not good. As good as their food is, I know plenty of other places with similar taste quality but with much better service.

Had the 9(rate beef noodle) it was delicious. Met a nice older gent while I was I. There said I herb lives until I tried the chicken soup haha. The owner was nice enough to bring me out a sample. Really good, but I prefer the beef. Chicken was a touch salty for me. You know your in a good Asian place hen your the only white chick in there.

I love phở! If you look at how many Phở places I review, it’s a lot. lol. I went in a couple of days ago as I was in the area, even though I had just had breakfast two hours earlier, and oh yeah, totally worth it! I had the bun bo hue and the broth is THEBEST in the lower mainland. I mean, I didn’t suffer from«starving makes everything taste great» thing, so it must be the best! Get extra meatballs. The spring rolls are okay. Service is prompt and friendly AND they take debit. WIn!

This is one of our favorite places to go for Phở and I tell everyone that it’s definitely worth going to if you’re in the area. So when we decided to order out the other night, imagine my disappointment when we looked at what we got and saw that the portions were very small… There was absolutely no distinction between large and small sizes, and there was hardly any meat. We ordered 2 beef balls and rare beef phở(one large and one small), and received ONE beef ball each and maybe only about 4 slices of beef. There may have been *slightly* more noodles for the large, but really that was about the only difference. The house special and bu bo hue, had a little more meat but very little of everything else… Overall, it was far less than what you would get eating in. I could see that they were trying to make it so you could put everything into those little take out bowls the soup comes in, but really, you just ended up getting very small portions. So I’ll still recommend this place but only if you eat in. Take out is definitely not worth it!

Just here for the iced coffee, passes the test easily, very nice touch by the manager there: provided a paper-wrapped straw! guarantee you won’t get that back in east Van lol. Quite spacious, one of the nicer décor places in terms of a phở place, pretty well dark mahogany décor throughout. Will repeat, seemed pretty happening here.

Following a recommendation from Carolyn N, I decided to give this phở place a try. Very clean looking and was promptly seated and my order taken after a couple of minutes when the server returned with my tea. Only two complaints that I can think of: I’m a several napkin kind of eater(especially after I add all the spicy bits) and had to ask for extra napkins after they dropped off a single one with my water. The plate of sprouts/basil/sliced peppers also had a suggestion of a lemon wedge. It was about the size of a quarter(not hyperbole) and barely any juice came out when I squeezed it. The broth was one of the better ones I’ve had. A rich brown with a great beefy flavor. Not bland in the least. Seeing as this was my first time here, I got the house special with a mix of all of their meats. Seemed to have a good overall amount of meat, although I wouldn’t have minded more beef balls(only came with half of one). The next time I go, and there will be a next time, I’ll just be sure to order extra. :-)
