Brown’s Moving and Storage

I have used this company several times for my moves and recommended to my friends and family. The service is great, prices and quotes are reasonable. The guys who came to do the last move had uniforms and spoke politely. Amazing experience. Thank you guys for making the moving easy.

We used them to move us from a 2 bedroom condo in Burnaby to a townhouse in Vancouver. We got 3 guys and a truck and these guys had it down to a science. Efficient, careful, professional, and just genuinely nice guys.
I hired moving totes from their sister company, say no to boxes. This really sped up the move, I had everything packed and ready to be taken out. They arrived at 9 AM and by 11.30AM everything was in our new home. Nothing broke, no scratches on the furniture, absolutely perfect.
I would hire them again and recommend them to all friends and family.

Called around to several companies and sketchies on Craigslist to get quotes for my move. There were cheaper, but the woman on the phone seemed nice and legit, so I booked with Brown’s. Quoted me $ 135/​hour for three guys and a 5ton truck. Advised there’d be a $ 25 gas surcharge, but after that tax was the only add on. I was happy with that so booked.
Movers were good, but arrived 35min later (booked them for 9am and my condo has a 3hr move in/​out elevator booking), so that caused me some concern. They were able to get my small 1 bedroom apartment moved quickly (i had packed everything in boxes myself), so no issues here.
Transported and unpacked at new location with no issues. When it came time to pay, I was slapped with an additional 1.5hrs «travel time» surcharge. I questioned them on it, but was told I «must have» been told about it on the phone. So ended up being $ 200 more than I expected and left me with a bad taste in my mouth, despite the nice guys and fairly efficient work.
Would not book with them again as I feel like I was taken, and after the work was done there wasn’t really anything I could do about it. If you are going to use them, be sure to get a final quote IN WRITING.
