If this was a few months ago, it’d probably only be 1 star.
The quality and styles used to be horrendous and I don’t want to say it… but it was straight up what teens would call as ‘ratchet’.
If I was a kid that didn’t have a lot of $, this would be my place because the clothes are super cheap– but you get what you pay for. 2 washes in the machine and it’s done-​zo.
Nowadays, urban planet has upped the quality and prices quite a bit. The clothes are licensed by different brands now (grumpy cat, disney etc) and the stuff does not feel like it’s going to fall apart in my hand anymore. So, they get half a star for that.
The other half of a star goes to the renovations that has occurred; it used to be a dingy, poorly lit, almost-​falling-​apart place because it was ‘urban behaviour’ before. Now it’s bright and spacious and looks ‘higher class’. Changerooms aren’t sketchy anymore, so that’s a plus.
The workers here are not very friendly nor helpful. They stare you down as you walk through the aisles and some will even glare. (maybe they have chronic bitch face, but I don’t know.) I shouldn’t feel ‘intimidated’ while walking through a store. The changeroom attendant that day also gave me a up-​down look and looked like I was the biggest bothersome thing of her day when I asked to try on clothes. Bitch, you work retail not a high class profession where you can look down on others.
Eh, their onesies and newly stocked clothes are pretty cute but still. when customer service is bad, I’d be reluctant to enter a store.

I used to go to Vaughan Mills a lot when it first opened, and I truly loved it but somehow I forgot about it, probably because its so north its much colder up there.
My sister needed an outfit for an up coming event so I tagged along, our first stop was at Urban Planet and I was pleasantly surprised at all the merchandise in the store. Now most of their stuff is not as «cool» as Forever 21 but they follow closely behind.
So we picked some things and headed for the change rooms with a pair of super sexy beige heels with bows on the back, because you always try clothes on with heels! And to our surprise we found her outfit right there, in the first store we entered! And the shoes matched perfectly too.
Now here is the best part, when we headed for the cash, that’s usually the OMG! How much am I really spending on just an outfitt?
Well not here, to our shock and the cashiers as well the heels cost $ 1.99, no you are not reading it wrong and neither was the cashier who ran back to check if there was any other pair that she could snag herself.
That beats any of my previous record breaking deals! YAY!
